Testicular Pain

Is it normal to be scared of the doctor? Vote now! >

Your testicles/balls/plums/nuts/nads/goolies or whatever other nickname you’ve bizarrely given them are a sensitive area and damage to them could render you incapable of having children – that’s without even mentioning the excruciating pain that would accompany any damage. There are a number of things that could cause a pain in your testicle; some would be instant and absolute agony, where as others might gradually come on over a prolonged period of time, either way, both might be a cause for concern. Remember, testicular cancer causes no pain, so whilst you won’t have to worry about cancer should you get a sudden twinge in your balls, regular self-checks are needed.

Believe it or not, testicles can get infected. It generally happens in older men and is characterised by a throbbing pain, extreme tenderness and swelling – as well as generally feeling under the weather. Antibiotics are the order of the day if this is your ailment and should restore the boys to their former glory with no problem at all. Torsion of the testicles is when one of your testes twists itself round on the cord that attaches it to your body. If you get a sudden, seemingly unprovoked pain, in your testicles you should seek a doctor’s assistance as soon as possible as torsion of the testicles, if left unseen to, can make the affected teste wither and drop off within just six hours. Sorry to scare you lads, but it’s better to be aware. If you have a pain in your scrotum whenever you cough or sneeze you may have a large hernia– yeah, it is possible to get one down there, but fear not! A simple operation will sort a hernia out. If your groin is injured warm baths, pain killers and supportive underwear should shift the pain within a week. That ache you sometimes get in your balls when you’re particularly turned on is nothing to worry about, though relieving the ache can be pretty gruelling – for your wrist at least as masturbation should clear the feeling up instantly. All in all there’s a lot that go wrong with these little chaps so take good care of them and if in doubt get it checked.

You're very wise for checking your testicles for any changes. I know you are embarrassed, but you must see a doctor to have it checked. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, but it needs to be checked by someone that knows. I had a similar problem a couple of years ago

I have had a n on and off pain in my right ball. It goes away quickly and had a very dull ache. Is this serious?

My right testicle has become very painful to touch over the past week. It feels lumpy to touch at the top. Over the past few days it has been getting worse. I had a vasectomy around 12 weeks ago and after the surgery my right one was the worst.

I had a vasectomy about 8 weeks ago, it healed fine up until a few days ago. My left testicle has become very tender. Not sure if it's anything to do with the operation as I never felt this type of pain while it was healing.

Does testicular cancer cause pain or not ? I've read that it does but this website says otherwise, it's a dull pain that's only come on today after work. There was an incident where I was blowing my self off with pressurised air and it happened to go over my balls and hurt for a minute. Please someone help me out with a answer.

I am having left testicle pain(at the back of the testicle) pain for more than a year now. I am 38 this year. I did go for physical checkup and scrotum ultrasound which all came out negative. I had quite a bad heartburn and lower abdominal pain 1 year ago where I went for endoscopy and colonoscopy. The Gastroentologist found two polyps at my rectum and removed it. Now I don't have stomach or lower abdominal pain except heartburn at times. But the left testicle and pelvic pain which started since a year ago with lower abdominal pain and heartburn is still there. Left testicle pain is more prominent especially when there is a sudden move even when I wear trousers or pants. The pain is more like a stinging pain. My PSA is negative and CT scan also came out negative. Doctors said it could be a nerve problem which could heal by itself and since scrotum ultrasound, physical check, CT scan and urine test, other blood test came out negative, I don't have to worry. But the left testicle and pelvic pain is still there. How not to worry? Please help.

I have a small lump on left side of scrotum. It hurts when I touch/squeeze it. Standing up for 5 min results in throbbing pain. Lying down with my scrotum a little elevated makes the pain die out. I'm 21 years old BTW. what is it? Also before there was lump, I get a pain in my scrotum after sneezing. Frequently. Like 3/5 sneezes, pain occurs in my scrotum.
