Embarrassing Fat Bodies Episode 3

Excess Skin

19 year old Malissa is the first case into the clinic this week. She was once dubbed the UK’s fattest teenager, but after losing 23 stone in two years, she’s unhappy with the excess skin left behind. Malissa will need at least 3 gruelling operations to remove all the problem skin, and Malissa will need to make certain necessary adjustments to her lifestyle, but failing to give up smoking and to increase the amount of iron in her blood means that the operation is unable to go ahead, and months of waiting have amounted to nothing. Malissa will have to kick the habit before she can return to the clinic for her surgery.

I have just watched again the Embarrassing Bodies programme showing the lady with the enormous hernia and fatty growth. She had to go into hospital for 3 months on "shut down" and was fed only milk shakes up to around 800 calories a day. I would like to lose weight following an abdominoplasty operation that had some problems, and I could manage using a similar diet but I need to know what is in the milkshakes so that I can prepare them myself and stay healthy. Can anyone help please.

When the choice of cupcakes was preferred over salad, the reason given on the show referred to cavemen's preference for high calorie food for survival. I would suggest that it is the invention of sweet cupcakes that has generated the taste for them and the memory of the their creamy taste that prompts people to prefer them over lettuce, and has nothing to do with cavemen.

I have lost weight after having my two children and I am slowly getting to my ideal weight but I'm left with a lot of excess skin on my breasts, stomach and viganal area I have been to my doctors and the don't really seem to want to help as its not a medical problem but it is making me miserable and I wear clothes I don't like just to hide it. What can I do to try and get rid of this unwanted excess skin?

My Bust 43" My waist 35" but my hips are only 39". The ratio of waist to hip is bothering me as my Dad died young of massive heart attack. I am 11st 7lb and 5ft 5". Every time I weigh 9st 5lb which is listed as my ideal weight, my hips go down to 35" but my waist is still 29" bust is 37". I look terrible as my trousers hang at the back and everyone says I look too skinny.I feel this is better for my health though as my waist is smaller but I can't stand the comments re my hips and it gets me down. Is there any way I can even things up.
