Scrotal Cysts

This week the doctors take the mobile clinic to Sheffield to examine some of the students at Sheffield Hallam University. First up is Jameel, who is concerned about a few unsightly lumps on his scrotum which both he and his girlfriend find unpleasant. Luckily, Dr Christian recognises them immediately as scrotal cysts. Cysts are smooth round lumps filled with a white substance called sebum. They are not cancerous and usually harmless, but as they are making Jameel unhappy, Dr Christian recommends minor
surgery to get them removed.

I've had these since my late teens. I had the first few looked at and they are harmless yet kinda ugly. I could have them removed, out of pocket for a staggering amount of money. I've lanced a few myself over time but recommend just leaving them alone or go to a professional over fear of infection. No one wants an infected sack.

I'm 14 and in my scrotum area I have a big collection of lumps on my left side of the scrotum , I read up saying if it's cancerous it would be on my testicle and not in my scrotum , on my testicles there's no bumps or anything just the outside on the "sack" there's a huge amount of lumps and I really don't know what it is ! I also have these really small dots all over my penis that are growing more and more every week , they're small and can't squeeze them or anything just round balls you can feel.. I hope I was specific enough. I'm too embarrassed to go to my doctor and really need to know if this is serious or not.

I've lived a happy sexual life until about age 23 when I suddenly developed scrotal cysts. I really want them removed but when I went to my Gp, he just told me it was ppp (which I'm pretty sure it isn't?) and that I would have to go privately to a cosmetic surgeon to get them removed. For an insane price that I'm unable to afford. It makes the whole self surgery thing seem more and more like my only option. I just don't know what to do.

Ive had them for years, I lance them myself. After swabbing the area with alcohol, I use a sterilized needle or lance from a medical supply store. Sebum(the stuff inside those) tends to have a waxy texture; gently pinch the cyst between thumb and forefinger, puncture the skin and enter approximately half way into the cyst. When you remove the needle or lance it might take a little pressure to empty the cyst, don't hurt yourself. If it doesn't empty easily, just wait a day then roll it between your fingers. Im no doctor, but this is how my GP showed me how. he said i could do it myself or have someone else do it, but its the same procedure. Stay sterile to avoid infection.

I have white hard lumps all over my scrotum and I've had them for as long as I can remember, some are really small and hardly noticeable, there are 3 that are grouped together on my scrotum, which is worrying me. They are painless but hurt if a lot of pressure is applied, then I have a white lump the size of a garden pea on the right side of my scrotum, I'm so embarrassed and ashamed about them. What should I do?

I have found a small lump about the size of a pea just under the skin of my scrotum and I am very concerned about it. It must of only been there a day or two but I am still very worried. Would appreciate anyone's help. With thanks, 14 year old boy.

I'm 18 years of age and had a baby nearly 5 months ago, I started getting lumps on my legs, bum and vaginal area and I got told they are just hormonal and when I gave birth my midwife asked me if I had any questions and I asked her what these little lumps was and she said it was possibly Genital Warts or something? But my boyfriend don't have anything on him so I'm really confused and need help. Thankyou.

Please see your doctor and get examined. What you are describing were my exact symptoms for testicular cancer. A simple ultrasound can rule it out if you are concerned.
