I had a total abdominal hysterectomy with both ovaries and Fallopian tubes removed for endometriosis in 2007. Aged 35. Intimacy as been a problem since although improved over time. I now am waiting for a colonoscopy due to blood in my stools with left sided abdominal pain and pain in my rectum at times. Could this be related to the return of my endometriosis causing adhesions.?

I am having left testicle pain(at the back of the testicle) pain for more than a year now. I am 38 this year. I did go for physical checkup and scrotum ultrasound which all came out negative. I had quite a bad heartburn and lower abdominal pain 1 year ago where I went for endoscopy and colonoscopy. The Gastroentologist found two polyps at my rectum and removed it. Now I don't have stomach or lower abdominal pain except heartburn at times. But the left testicle and pelvic pain which started since a year ago with lower abdominal pain and heartburn is still there. Left testicle pain is more prominent especially when there is a sudden move even when I wear trousers or pants. The pain is more like a stinging pain. My PSA is negative and CT scan also came out negative. Doctors said it could be a nerve problem which could heal by itself and since scrotum ultrasound, physical check, CT scan and urine test, other blood test came out negative, I don't have to worry. But the left testicle and pelvic pain is still there. How not to worry? Please help.

Hi Shannon, how are you now? It could be a coincidence but you really should see a Doctor ASAP you don't need to be scared of telling a Doctor they've seen it all :)

hi im 18.. iv been to and from my GP and in an out of hospital for the past 3 nearly 4 years with abdominal pain both both left and right side but most frequently on the left. i also get the same pain just beneath my ribs in my back. it become so excruciating sometimes i literally crawl into a ball for several hours.. i have duplex kidney which i get frequent infections from 3-4 times a year which has led to internal bleeding but its not the same pain i get tasted for urinary infections when i get these pains and they come back negative. doctors just tell me its period pain but a a female who gets this pain every month i know its not the same pain. i not the Same place nor the some level of pain. im just fed up of being in this pain. all the time as it comes and goes at least 3 -4 times a week and just being sent away by the doctor with the same suspected cause 'periods' please help me. i was told by a nurse at GWH it maybe endometriosis but my doctor never got back to me about this but said to not worry if they didnt as that will mean they had no concern for this. but i need this pain sorted as i can't keep living with this.

I have been diagnosed with IBS but I'm not so sure that this is what it is. My main symptom is lower abdominal pain, I don't really have many differences in my bowel movements other than when I have the pain I feel the need to go but don't actually need to go, it's just pressure that the pain causes. The pain does sometimes cause wind but mainly it's accompanied by getting really hot and clamy followed by really cold, and extreme nausia, to the point where I had to sit in the bathroom for quite a while as I thought I was going to be sick. The main reason I don't think it's IBS is because nothing triggers my episodes, I am painfree for about 3 months and then I get a week of it, sometimes I can get several pain episodes in one day and sometimes only one or two, they aren't linked to what I eat or when I eat it. I do not change my eating habits so what I eat cannot be somethign that causes it. When I have the episodes nothin makes it better or worse. They usually last a week but this one is going on for much longer and is now at two weeks, I know for many of you this seems like nothing but for me it is a long time especially as I cannot control it. When I go to the doctors they just basically fob me off with more excuses the latest one being 'well any unexplained abdominal pain is classed as IBS' I just get told it's IBS with no examination and barely any questions. Could anyone shed any light on whether this is IBS or not? Thanks

I am 41, I've had 48 surgeries for division of adhesions (over 12years), these surgeries also include removal of gallbladder, appendix, hysterectomy, ovarian cysts, hernia repair. I feel my symptoms are recurring again, chronic upper abdominal pain after I eat, the past few days I've started to vomit which make me anxious, the thought of more surgery. I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2007. My surgeon (same surgeon for 12yrs) used an adhesion barrier after my last division of adhesions hoping it would help. Could this go on for the rest of my life? Is it normal? My pain is always upper abdominal right side, can leave me in bed for days with chronic & pain vomiting. I am taking opioid pain relief Any comments would be grateful, desperate.

Hi Linda, unfortunately as a adhesion sufferer as well it is pretty common place for the adhesions to reoccur after having them divided. Also the surgery to cut them itself can cause more to grow. I had major liver surgery at 9yrs old and adhesions covering my entire abdomen and liver stuck to ribs. I had some cut as bowel was stuck to stomach wall.i am on a help group on fb called adhesions pain and suffering. We have over 400 people in the same situation but help each other with advice etc. there is no cure for ARD (adhesion related disorder) I'm afraid. If you need any further advice please ask. Thanks.

Pain in lower abdominal and right testicle? Hi there.around 6years ago i had a hernia operation, placing mesh in my lower abs. For as long as i can remember, when getting intimate with my girlfriend, if interupted and having to stop, gradually a sharp pain in my lower abdominal and right testicle would appear getting worse and worse untill i have to lie down.the pain in my testicle feels as tho it is being pulled.i have been to see several doctors, and they cannot see anything wrong, and no hernia reacurring.as i said this has happened for as long as i can remember. Is this common and does it have anything to do with the operation?or is this something that happens to a lot of men when slightly excited and get interupted? Any help would be really appreciared as it has been on going for a long time.I would class my self as very healthy, eating well and visiting the gym 2-3 a week. Thanks

I've had bad stomach pains on the right lower side of my abdomen too I've had these pains everyday for about 2 years I've just started to notice a clear discharge but the doctor had a look today and she said it was a pure white colour.. I have no std's or thrush.. My ovaries hurt a lot that's the main place I get the pain is on the right side where my ovary is placed.. They've been testing and testing me for all sorts this is why I want to know if you've found a diagnoses yet, I'm also 18 years old and it's unbearable just don't know what to do anymore? Hope you've been sorted or is getting sorted as its a horrible experience to go through x

Hi, I have been diagnosed with a abdominal neuroma with nerve damage, this was due to a laparotomy through my old hysteretomy scar and to remove my ovaries and adhesions. The pain clinic have been treating me with injections for the pain and stunning the neuroma with pulsed radiofrequency. I would like to know if this neuroma would get any bigger and cause any problems in my abdominal area

I'm 18 and I've had acid reflux from the age of 11 or 12. When ever I eat I end up bringing it back up into my mouth. When it gets bad I get reflux when I haven't eaten and just get stomach acig coming up. I was put on Gaviscon Advanced which initially helps but now no longer has any affect. For the last few weeks it has been much worse than it has every been before, occuring much more frequently, and with abdominal pain and pain in my chest which made it difficult to move or sleep. I have never had abdominal pain with it before now. I have also had pain in the roof of my mouth since last night which I think has been caused by the acid. What can I do to help this? What damage is the acid likely to be doing to the rest of the body e.g osophagus, mouth etc.?

I suffered as well, but the best thing you can do is see you doctor. Ask him if Omeprazole can help you, it has me!

abigail, can i suggest that you see your doctor as i had the same problem and then was sent to hospital where i had a tube with a camera put down inside my stomach and was then advised that i had a hiatus hernia and acid reflux.I was then advised by my doctor to take LANSOPRAZOLE CAPSULES which i take one a day first thing in the morning before food and that lasts all day.Since then i have no problems.I have even managed to come off them for long periods of time and just take them when the problem gets worse.

im not to sure if i should go to the ER or go back to my doctor because about 4 weeks ago my lower abdominal and groin area started hurting none stop. so i went to the er and they thought it was my appendix. but the dr said everything was fine from the looks of the CAT SCAN. SO JUST YESTERDAY ON 7/26/12 I WENT TO MY DOCTOR AND TOLD HIM ABOUT MY PAIN IN MY ABDOMINAL AND IN MY RIGHT TESTICLE AND SAID its probably nothing and drew blood and took urine. God im in so much pain not even 2 VICODIN are helping. should i go back to the er or just not be to worried since the er didnt see anything on THE CT?

HI. Last year i took ill and ended up with emergency surgery to clear blood out of my abdominal cavity. Shortly afterwards i was diagnosed with endometriosis. Roughly 2 months after my diagnosis i fell pregnant, which my GP said should help clear the endometriosis. Throughout pregnancy i had severe abdominal pain, which was put down to the extra weight i was carrying. I gave birth to my baby girl 5 weeks ago and since have been doubled over with pain in my abdomen, i have been given 3 courses of antibiotics to clear an infection in my womb, which gynaecologists said was caused by the endometriosis? But the antibiotics have not made any difference and i am still in agony. Is this due to endometriosis causing blood to build up in my abdominal cavity again and is there any other way to sort it without surgery? Please help, i feel like a truck has run over my abdomen :( Thank you.

I had the same signs before and it turned out that I had a hernia. What happens is you get a tear in your lower abdominal wall and your intestines fall through a bit making it look like your testical is swollen. You get the lower abdominal pain from the tear. You should go get it checked out and tell them you think you have a hernia. The surgery was a piece of cake and I was back to normal in 2 weeks.

I have been have many problems from pain during sex to pains in abdominal pain. I have been having pain from abdominl right through to my back at first they thought i had infection in my womb, then ovrian cysts. So they sent ne for scans and they have all come back clear. i am still having pain and intercourse is getting beyond a joke can anyone help please xx

Hi there, for years i had periods of intense pain Lasting 4-5 days in my lower abdomen mainly on right side which doctors quickly put down to IBS. Then during one episode, I was found to have blood in my urine so they then started going down the Urine infection route. I decided to go privately to see a urologist but on the way there, the pain was so bad I could literally have ended it all and my husband called ahead to the Consultant and he had a Morphine shot ready to ease the pain. After several X Rays and a Bladder check, all was found to be ok and it was that man who saved my life as he suggested I have a CT scan on my abdomen and that is where the Diverticulitis was found, in a pocket near my bladder hence the blood seeping through into the bladder. If it had burst I would have been in serious trouble.I never seem to have conventional symptoms but now carry a course of Antibiotics which i have had to take twice since that attack over 10 yrs ago.I know how awful the pain can be,the doctors mainly dont!!!
