Hi there, my sister is 24 and has very bad acne since she was in her teens. She is a teacher and feels she is lacking confidence with her acne. She gets upset about still having acne at her age and has tried a number of skin treatments over the years but none of them have worked. Is there anything she can do to get rid of her acne please??
most acne lasts until the age of 40 or under. The best thing to do is get a proscription from your local pharmacy.

I Am 14 Years Old And Have Bad Acne All Over My Face And Chest. I Have Been To The Doctors And Had Cream Which Is Making My Skin Shed And My Acne Worse! I Am To Embarrsed To Go Swiming With My Friends Or Stay Over At There Houses Because Of It. How Could I Try And Clear My Acne?
Don't worry so many people suffer from acne but i am exactly the same with the swimming and staying over friends! i have gone to the doctors and instead of creams ask for oral medication, there are two options of antibiotics or the pill which is also the contraceptive pill, your GP will talk through which is best for you and the side effects i hope this helps. i got put on the pill last week and its such a relief knowing my acne will go down soon!
Try going to your GP and asking for a referral to a dermatologist they have many more resources to help and also many more powerful drugs that can clear it more effectively
hi,i m 23.i have bad acne on my back, chest and arms.i m depressed because of acne scars on my body.i feel shy to show my back nd chest to public.i have been hiding my acne for years and now i m getting married and my fiancee doesnot know abt my acne scar.will he leave me if he sees my scarred body..??
I would try Accutane. Antibiotics work but usually only short term. Benzoyl peroxide scrubs (the stronger ones from your doctor) will also help it short term. Accutane is usually a once and done medication. Usually taking it for 6 months to a year will clear it forever (USUALLY). There is another medication called spiro that is known to clear hormonal acne (but only while you take it). Both of these medications can have severe side effects, and you MUST be on birth control before taking it otherwise they will not prescribe it. See a dermatologist and discuss all of your options first. I woildn't worry about your fiancé. I'm sure he loves you no matter what or you wouldn't be getting married! Congratulations, and don't worry, your acne can be managed.
Hello im 15 and im suffering acne on my chest, back and shoulders. Its very embarrassing because a can`t wear vests or bikini`s on holiday. I have a 18 years old brother who have a severe acne problem all over his bodies he had tried lots of things, from drugstore medicine until visiting a local doctor(I'm not living in UK) and his acne stays the same, even worse. his acne is big and when he extract them, there's this white-ball like thingy comes out of it what to do to help him? I run out of ideas
Hi I am 22, been suffering from acne since 10,been to so many gp and doctors but could not get a good treatment for the acne on my back, chest and face.it so ugly and i feel really dirty, always have to cover my body well so that others dont see it as it leaves dark spot.I tried so many antibiotics, cream, topical solutions, acnetane and it just calm down the acne but when the medecines are over, the acne revolts more on my body.please i need serious help as my GP said, she cant give me a refferal to the dermatologists and she can only give me antibiotics.
I'm 18 and I've had acne since I was 9. Having been on the pill for about 9 months, my acne is improving a lot but this has just revealed loads of acne scars. Problem is, they aren't like either of the types of scar described above, they are mostly like white, raised freckles all over my chest, back and face. Does this mean that the treatments you've mentioned won't work since they seem to aim to fill in indentations in the skin?
everyone's skin type is different from one another, some products may work for you but not for others. I had the same problem more or less everyone does, some are more serious than others. best healing secret 1) drink a lot of water- flushes down unwanted bacteria 2)you can use lemon mixed with a bit of sugar or honey- helps to fade down scars 3)you can purchase vitamin E creams at boots- helps with irritated skin best thing is try to avoid looking at mirrors, as it encourages you to pick on your face which makes it even worse when bacteria spreads and you get even more scars. good luck - and remember be happy with the way you look- inside is what really counts
I have what I think is acne on my bum. I don't have acne anywhere else on my body. Is this acne, or some other condition? How can it be treated?
I have the exact same problem but i am too embarresed to get anything done about it i have had it for 10 years i would love to know how to get rid!
