i have had ulcers on both legs for 2 years now, factor v leiden, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and secondary hypoadrenalism. I have seen several consultants but nothing appears to have improved. I have an identical twin who also has arthritis, factor v leiden and leg ulcers for over 12 years. Most of the consultants say that things are complicated due to all the various illnesses and that there is nothing else they can tell us. Can you help? I forgot to mention that I also suffer from raynaulds syndrome.

I am 47 year old woman, in January I hurt my foot/ toe by kicking a heavy box. I went to A & E had n x ray and they told me I had fractured it and made an appointment for 3 days later to go to the fractures clinic. I had no swelling just very painful to touch on the foot and toe joint. Fracture clinic said I had arthritis in my toe and sent me away. Still now(April) my foot is still very painful and putting pressure on it is very painful at times. I have had no swelling at all. Should I go back to doctor for further conformation of arthritis.

Hi I'm 14 years old. I had fell on my knee 5 months ago. It was barely hurting exept for when I turned on it. And my knee would feel like as if it had to pop. A week later I went to the doctor. They told me to rest it for two weeks so I did. And my symptoms improved except for two things. I have this occasional popping sensation in my knee and recurrent swelling. My mom will not take me to the doctor for this. I even called the doctor twice. No matter what I say or do my mom will just never take this seriously. I had knee surgery a year ago for a tibia fracture and torn pateller so. I have a screw in my knee. My symptoms have never effected my ability to play sports. (I'm a skateboarder). And there is no pain. Just this weird sensation in my knee. Almost locking. Maybe a torn part of the meniscus is rubbing against my joints. Am I at risk for arthritis if I don't get this treated soon? I just cannot get my mom to take me to a doctor because I had sort of a cry wolf past. (I'm a hypochondriac). In fact NOBODY in my family will. I feel that if I don't fix this soon my life will be miserable. I don't want arthritis. i will not stop thinking about this until I get an answer. How can I get my mom to take me seriously? And what is the arthritis risk? Do I really need to see a doctor? Please help! :((

I had a copper coil fitted last may 2010. I would think it would not be a good idea for you to give bone marrow for your own health. I have lupus and if you are on treatment for it you would be severely at risk of infection etc. I have no idea if it is even allowed! You would need to ask your own GP or the consultant involved.

hi wae dig just ther at chirstmas with lupus still cant come to terms with it i have sjoures and renulids was on methotrexate injecton but my body will not take it and i have had differnt tablets and that happens to

im 19 and was diagnosed with arthritis at 18 months old though my mum thinks i was born with it affects all my joints and i do tend to suffer from it quite a lot, i know this seems a little drastic but acupuncture and a mix of heat therapy and herbal medicines literally relieved me from all my symptoms and im not one that just lives from the herbal meds, i have been on methotrexate and had loads of diff steroid treatments and non of them were as effective as acupuncture

My daughter is 13 and has had polyarticular arthritis affecting most of her joints, due to the severity she takes methotrexate and etanercept a biological drug (on alternate weeks she takes an adult dose of this medication) you might want to suggest this to her consultant. You can have methotrexate in tablet form

Psoriasis is an immune system problem, it is also hereditory. I have had it off and on most of my life but only very small patches on my feet and head. There is also something else people who suffer from Psoriasis should keep a look out for and thats a condition known as Psoriatic Arthritis. This commonly affects joints of the hands and feet and the tendons where they attach to bone. Psoriatic arthritis is one of a group of rheumatic diseases known as spondyloarthropathies and only those that suffer from Psoriasis will develop it. My doctor put me on Methotrexate to control the arthritis, low and behold my Psoriasis has got a lot better since i started the disease-modifying drugs.

My daughter was 25 when she developed back pain, Dr said it was just a strain, but as I have severe osteoarthritis and so do most of my family I know that the pain she was describing was arthritis. I paid for a private scan on her spine and lo and behold she has arthritis, so please do go to your GP and explain that it runs in the family, and INSiST that you have an x-ray at the very least.

you think psoriasis is bad, try having psoriatic arthritis as well, not only do I have scaly scalp and back, but swollen toes and fingers, plus got in neck too. So if you have psoriasis and get pain in joints get it checked with GP and ask dor Rhuematology referral - as you may be starting with psoriatic arthritis! (which not many people know exists) Ive had the P for about 14 years and the PA for 18months.

I have both. Not a lot of people know that psoriatic arthritus exists your right. I have had P for 12 years and PA for nearly 4 years, I was eventually diagnosed December 2008 when I moved to Hereford. I can just about walk on times, my fingers, my toes, my ankles, my shoulders, my wrists and my knee, my hips and lower back hurts too. I actually inherited the psoriasis form my mum and dad and the arthritus from my mum as she has both. I hope your okay thank you for saying what you did

Hey I have arthritis and I do take a lot of medication, for it I find ibruprothen works and like paracetamol just make sure you can take these medications first. If you do have arthritis I'm also on a injection called methotrexate I admistor my self once a week and that's helps aswell. But I also find warm baths help they release some of the pain and help to relax the muscles I hope you find this helpful.

Hi Kim, I have been dealing with PPP for 26 years with little success. My Dermotologist gives me a Kenelog shot every 3 or 4 mos and it does geat for about 3 weeks. Also on methatrexate (15mg) per week. It helps with the psoriatic arthritis which I have in hands and feet. Use topicort regularly but that does nothing unless you wrap with plastic to make airtight. PPP is very rare in the psorisis realm, only 30% have PPP or psoriatic arthritis. I will look up your FB Group.

I have osteoarthritis of the lubar spine and fibromyalgia and suffering with hip and buttock pain. Ive managed to loose a stone but would like to loose another. People dont seem to understand that the exercise flares my fibromyalgia and osteo arthritis up terribly It is not easy. I have found "arthritis research" a good website for information. Kind Regards Tracy

I'm 23, and, since the age of 12, I have had arthritis ever since I broke my elbow. It was hard explaining that I couldn't do P.E or had trouble holding an instrument and that my arm hurt. People just didn't understand that kids could have arthritis. The worst I ever had was when I was forced to do push ups and then forced to leave the class to go to the "special ed" P.E class because I couldn't use a man's bow in archery.

Hi, i have had rheumatoid arthritis since 2011, so far i have been on several medication, and had one forefoot operation, because my mobility was suffering. My foot is healed very well and i am taking hydroxquinne and methetrexate, but i still have swelling in my hands on the knuckles mainly the right hand, i am 55yrs old, and i exercise every other day, this includes cardio and weights. I have also changed my diet, and cut out animal fats, i eat more fruit and veg now than anything, i am feeling good, but hate having arthritis, would be nice to be in remission, is there any hope of this in the future.

I have suffered from JIA for 22 years and am glad the show has covered this issue as alot of people do not understand. I do not have it as bad as the girl on the programme, but I think I am on the same medication. Not only do we suffer from the pain of the arthritis, other symptoms that is caused by the arthritis, but the side effects from the medication, and the stigma. With old people glaring at you when you park in a disabled space. I am hoping that they bring out the lifetime injection soon!!!

iam 20 and have suffered from JIA most of my life i have found that cutting red meat out of your diet helps alot (just like people with skin conditions and dairy or caffeen), i suffer with alot less pain and stiffness and i have tryed eating red meat now and again but i feel the difference the next day, i have been red meat free for 3 years now and would never go back.

I have psoriatic arthritis together with palmer planta psoriasis. The arthritis was diagnosed in October 2011 and I was treated with various DMARDs with some horrible side effects. The PPP 1st appeared 15 years ago and has flared up dramatically since I was prescribed Enaracept (an anti-TNF biological injection) June 2012. I have since been prescribed Humira a different biological and my arthritis pain has subsided (fantastic) however the soles of my feet are covered in PPP. I've had PUVA dermovate diprosalic icthapaste viscopaste bandages, hydromol ointment, wrapping in cling film. I've tried flotation tanks, strange diets and bio energy healing. Walking is unbearable. I am facing redundancy at work which I suspect may have something to do with the amount of time I've been been sick, so my stress levels are high which exacerbates the symtoms. I am at my wits end. Does this ever get better and how. Please help

Hi, I am 38 and since I was a kid have cracked my knuckles, as I have got older all of my joints started to crack as I moved them, this includes my toes, knees, ankles, wrists and hips. I have recently started to have sharp pains in the thumb and first finger of my right hand, it is all day and since I started back at the gym have noticed that my wrist does not bend back as far as it used to. I take Ibuprofen daily but it does not stop the pain, is this a symptom of arthritis? My paternal grandmother had rheumatiod arthritis really bad.

Hi I psoriatic arthritis with blisters to hand and feet i have started uv to hands and feet which has helped. I was given methotrexate but didn't really like the sound of the side effects. So searched the internet for arthritis and came up with 2 table spoons of cider vinger with 8oz of boiled water u can add honey if you wish. You take small sips thoughtout the day untill the glass is finished. I have seen a big improvment i can now get my rings back on fingers and don't feel so stiff in the mornings. I can even get my normal shoes back on feet as swelling to joints is going away. I hope it helps if you try it.

hi, my daughter is 9 years old and has suffered with pain in her feet for 18 months now. The pain seems to come and go, sometimes her heals look red and swollen. There have been times when she has been reduced to tears because of the pain. She has been prescribed ibuprofen but it doesn't seem to work. My GP referred her to an orthopedic consultant as he thought it may have something to do with her achilies tendon. She has now been referred to a rhuematologist. He did blood tests and has told me she has a antigen in her blood which may indicate arthritis. She goes back in October to see him again. Has anybody else got children who suffer from this? do we think it is arthritis?

Hi, my son is now 13 and for 3 years he has suffered from painful joints. It started with pain in his heels which then moved to his ankles, knees, wrists, hips etc. After taking him to the doctors he saw a consultant who told us that he is suffering from growing pains and not juvenile athritis which affects most of his joints, explaining that the anchors to the tendons become inflamed and painful. I have been told to give him paracetamol and he should grow out of it. He was never given a blood test but he is always in pain somewhere on his body. Might go back for a 2nd opinion as it seems to be getting worse. Thanks

I totally understand as I have both as well. I was diagnosed with everything but the arthritis and PPP after months of being off work and thousands spent trying to find out what was wrong I finally was diagnosed. It's been 6omthd and I'm on steroids for the arthritis which help but at night I get pain so take panadein forte or Valium just to ease it and able to sleep. My feet have been shocking but over Te last month Ive been soaking in bio carb and every night steroid cream my feet, cling wrap and soaks and they've cleared up they look new again. My hand comes and go haven't found anything that got rid of that completely but still working on it. Hope this helps!!!
