I suffer from lower back pain and pain in my hip which occasionally gives way with shooting pain. I've had xrays & mri all that it showed was couple of bulges in lower back no wear n tear. I had an epidural in lower back but this didn't help either. They advised that i need to strengthen my pelvic floor which i know i do as i do occasionally suffer leakage etc had 3 natural births However when i have been doing pelvic floor exercises i have found this seems to cause more pain in my hip to the degree before where i was unable to sit stand or lay down i was in so much pain. I don't know what to do Dr just says keep doing it but last time i was on crutches and taking morphine for pain got so bad.

I am a 59 year old woman and have suffered with pain in the hands, wrists, shoulders and hips for a number of years.Losing weight due to dieting has certainly helped, especially with hip pain when driving. Recently though I have started to suffer very severe lower back pain when lying down. I have taken Volterol but nothing touches it and I can only get to sllep if I am supported by about 4 pillows. Strangely I don't get the pain when up and about all day. I have always had a weakness in my lower back, probably due to nursing in the days before hoists. Is this the progression of osteoarthritis or have I hurt my back? Are there any efective treatments or do I just have to live with it?

I had pain in my right testicle and into the right side of my lower stomach/groin. I had a water and blood test and both came back fine. The Dr's did put me on a week course of penicillin which reduced the pain but now its back and occasionally the pain goes into my kidneys?? Any ideas? I have an appointment at the gum clinic of Friday. Is it possible an sti can cause this?

She was back to back for a while and I just wondered if there could be any damage done or when it should stop aching. It can be painful most of the day. I do take pain-relief and it helps for a while

I was having tremendous pain on my right side. My lower abdomen and back were killing me. I thought I had a kidney infection. I went to Urgent Care and my urine was negative for an kidney or bladder infection. After the Dr. examined me he said he thought it was diverticulitis. He gave me a script for Cipro and Bentyl for pain. Its two days later and I'm still in pain. Tylenol helps for a little while but pain comes right back. Im also having pain radiating down my leg. Does any one know when Cipro should kick in and when I should head for the ER.

I am just getting better from a severe case of diverticulitis. I went to the doctor and he confirmed it. It no fever, so no antibiotics. This is my seventh day of it. The pain eases off after about 36 hrs. But I still get twinges. I have lived on yogurt, poached eggs on white toast, canned soft fruit. Now I am at the point where I am hungry often and eat a little bit every few hours. I thought I was going to die. The pains are worse than labour pains. Use a hot water bottle where the pain is. A lot of,people suggest Metamucil but I'm not convinced yet that it will help. I had two attacks before. It just the pain and no other symptoms such as bloating. This was the worst and a wake up call for me.

I had wot they call a S.U.F.E(slipped upper femoral apiphysis)when i was 11. Which is when the growth plate at the top of my femor slips back giving alot of pain. After being misdiagnosed, i ended up having pins put in to hold it back together, and had them out when i was 16. Because i had the pins in for 5 years, it stoped me leg growing as it should. Leaving me with a short leg. I'm now 34 and have Scoliosis, and like you it hasent been somthing from burth. Last year i had a hip replacement, and they tried to lenthen my leg. But my back is still twisted and im in loads of pain. I go to a pain clinic which has tried to sort out my pain, but my back is worse than ever. i'm wating to find out where i go from here.

Hi, I am 22 and have been in constant pain for about 6 months. The pain occurs in different places ever few days and last for about 3 days. So far I have had pain in both shoulder blades, chest, central and lower back, both hips, right bum cheek, right wrist, back of leg and neck. The pain is often so bad I cant walk or sit properly. Shop bought pain killers do nothing and I feel my doctor dosn't believe that I am in so much pain. I feel so embarassed that I cant do the same things as my friends like go walking, play sport or even go out sometimes. What is wrong with me?

last Friday I did a circuit session involving tyre flips, cycling, rowing box jumps and other exercise. Afterwards I had a tight feeling in my lower back. I stretched off as my physio advised. I have been told by a dr and nurse I have sciatica. My back pain as eased apart from a strong pain in my right lower back which has gone into my right testicle. I've been checked by the dr twice in 2 days as the pain is crippling. He suspects theres no hernia, no lumps, swelling or anything to suggest anything out of the ordinary. The pain seems to get worse over time, it will ease off then come back and I will be doubled over. Seems to come on more if I stand or walk. can I get some advise please.

Well I had the same sort of thing happen to me a few months ago I had pain when I went to urinate I dribbled so went to my GP advices that I didn't have a urine infection since then I had to go back with back pain constantly so the next GP I saw I was very thorough I had a kidney scan and all seemed ok but I still have a niggling back pain my dad suffered with renal failure and my son had a kidney stone when he was only 15 and my niece 17 has recently been in hospital with a infection which wasn't conclusive for 6 days bloods read 268 which I was told should have been 5 to 10 so showed infection they discharged her with bloods at 88 but still do not know what the infection was she had horrendous back pain

I am 37, for the last two years I have been suffering from mid-cycle pain. The pain can last for up to a week. The pain comes on between 10 - 16 days before a period. The pain makes me very tired & some times light headed, the pain can also keep me awake at night. I have no pain during intercourse & my periods are normal to light. Very rarely are my periods heavy. Most times my period flow is so light that I am unable to use tampons. The pain I get is normally on the left side, about ten center meters from the belly button area. I have had a laparoscopy which showed the possibly start of endometriosis in the pouch of douglas, pelvic congestion & a small ovarian cyst. I have been offered a hysterectomy as my specialist is not sure if the above is what causes me to have the pain. Last year for a six month period, I did take Logyon (combined pill back to back for three months with out a break, then after a one week break repeated back to back pill taking), taking Logyon only seemed to help for the first ten weeks & than the pain came back just as bad as before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have been to the doctors about it and they thought it was a kidney infection so they took a sample and it came back clear they prescribed me anitbiotics they helped the pain but it still came back. I have had a ultrasound and scan done but nothing was seen I just want this pain to stop I don't no what it is but could it be chronic cystitis? Im only 19

one of my mates is 14 and a 34E, she said she has pain on her back and neck coz of her breasts, so it is probably them that are causing you pain. you could try wearing a support bra, so they don't put as much pain on you back. I'm not to sure though about the sagging tissue because everyone has that no matter what size they are. I hope this helps you x

Hi, i was diagnosed with endometriosis but was still getting pain and bleeding. After an operation at a private hospital they discovered i had a twisted fallopian tube. Don't give up with doc, keep going back until he does something about it, that's what i had to do.

I totally sympathise with you. The pain from a fissure is like a hot knife up your bum. I have had days where the pain lasted for 8 hours. Sometimes I think they could be healing as there is virtually no pain when I go to the loo and then within 20 mins its back. I had them about 10 years ago and they took about 6 months to clear up. Can't believe they're back. When you get the urge the pain starts even before you get to the loo. I found a shower after can help. Especially if you direct the water between your cheeks. Also sitting on a warm water bottle.

My tests are all coming back clear.....yet the pain down below is incredible. Extra Strength Tylenol or Perkacettes don't do much at all. Sex makes the pain increase. I have much lower back pain. How do I go about getting this I.C. check? The Dr. just prescribed me some bladder relaxants. Will this help if it is I.C.?

YES!!! Bladder relaxants def do help!!! The latest doc I've seen says my prob is not visible i.c. It is nerve hypersensitivity in that region!!! As well as tensing pelvic floor muscles without knowing it through the day. Muscle relaxants, live bio yoghurt, garlic, bottled water and order "Prelief" to take with acid foods including alcohol. Avoiding wheat is helping. I know valium lowers pain, but I've not been prescribed it yet. Look at anti candida diets, .c diet and keep a diary to see patterns in mood, meds, wees, pools, sex, pain, activity :) They're putting me on Pregabalin, as well as increasing Amitriptyline. I am consciously, untensing my pelvic floor muscles now whenever I know I'm tensing, which makes sex easier now :) & I wash my anus with soap after every stool, and pour warm water down my vagina to clean it and wash the soap off my bum into the loo (stopping infection) Buy books on ur symptoms. Try healing naturally. I'm turning down any more urology tests now. Hope that helps :)
