Hi, I get bad breath too even though I spend ages brushing my teeth really thoroughly. I've found that flossing at least once a day, using a toothbrush with a tongue cleaner on it and wiping that quite gently from back to front on my tongue and using 'Oraldene' mouthwash has really helped. The mouthwash tastes rank, but it works really well. Hope this helps

Hi Laura You may be dehydrated, often bad breath is a sign of this. Drink plenty of water, or if you dont like plain water try adding just a drop of squash. If you have a white coating on your tongue this is an indication of too much sugar in your diet which can also cause bad breath, so cut back on sugary drinks, sweets and fruit juices. Get yourself a tongue scraper and get used to using this every morning before you brush your teeth

I'm 17 and I've had chronic bad breath for 6 years, it could be longer but I was told 6 years ago. When I finally plucked up the courage to visit a GP, I had my tonsils removed, as I had bad tonsil stones. I have also had my wisdom teeth removed. Today I done something which I've never done, I finally told a medical professional I had bad breath, normally I disguise it with other things like a sore throat with the tonsils etc. My dentist said my teeth are perfect and I shouldn't have bad breath?! I really don't know what to do, I was so scared of saying I had bad breath, and when I do I'm not given an answer?! I brush twice a day and floss, scrape my tongue and use mouthwash. No one else in my family suffers from it, my mother has awful yellow and black rotting teeth and she's a heavy smoker and coffee drinker, but I've never smelt bad breath on her. I do get a bright yellow coating on my tongue throughout the day and I feel like I may have post nasal drip. Can anyone please help me, I know this is long but I'm desperate I'm close to suicide. Thank you

hey its not the answer. you might have gerd or post nasal drip. btw how did you know you have bad breath??

Get 3% hydrogen peroxide from the grocery store. First scrape your tongue floss and brush teeth. When you brush teeth brush the top of your mouth your gums and your vtongue. After that mix equal parts of hydrogen peroxide and water and rinse and gargle for 45 seconds, spit it out and rinse mouth with water. Do this in the morning and before going to bed.If the source of your bad breath is your mouth or tonsils this will fix it . It works very well.

Whenever I exercise I go bright red in the face, my arms also then go red and my chest does. It's even gone so far as I've turned somewhat purple. I don't hold my breath and I breath like most people who exercise, I am not overweight and I do not smoke. Any idea what's wrong?

Hi, I have not been able to breath properly through my nose for a number of years, people at my work said I have had a cold since they have known me. I do have better days and bad days. Doctor has give me allergy table one a day and nasal spray which I don't like or use. They will not let me have the flu jab as they don't think it will help?? Does anyone know how or the best way to get rid or just be able to breath better through my nose??

My tongue is always yellowy/green right at the back and the front always looks quite white. I drink at least six glasses of water a day and the more water I drink the more thirsty I am, plus the whiteness never lessens. I have had some sinus problems but my doctor keeps saying there is nothing wrong now and won't refer me to ENT but it is a constant annoyance in my life and I do get bad breath alot of the time. I know that the bad breath started when my nose problems started and at that time the doctor said I had sinusitis plus an infection. After antibiotics I did notice a difference in my breath but now my doctor says there is nothing wrong. My diet is not unhealthy, I eat plenty of fruit and do not eat much junk food. Help.

The thick white/yellow/green coating is probably oral thrush, which is basically a yeast infection... most common in people with weak Immune Systems (babies&elderly), people taking antibiotics, someone with an infectious disease.. I am currently in a hospital taking antibiotics after surgery, and they caused oral trush, which was cured by Nystatin? (Spelling?) Its a swish-n-swallow liquid. Thrush can damage taste buds.. and give u bad breath. Worst of all.. it can make ur mouth feel numb

Every time I brush my teeth and use mouth wash, I get this icky egg like breath in my mouth and throat. I also brush my tongue. I don't get why I get this icky egg-smelling breath after I brush and use mouth wash. What should I do? I don't want this egg-like breath smell in my mouth and throat anymore

I'm 16 years old and so i did oral with my boyfriend and i noticed i had really foul breath afterwards along with a white-ish looking tongue. I went to go brush my teeth along with my tongue and i think its somewhat better. Also my tongue is back to a normal looking pinkish color in my opinion. Can doing oral lead to a white looking tongue and or bad breath? I did some research just to be safe and apparently symptoms of HIV can cause white tongue. The thing is i'm not experiencing an other symptoms of HIV and that my tongue isn't white anymore after brushing. And that my boyfriend and i are sure we dont have HIV and or AIDS. I'm confused. Either i have a really bad brushing habit causing my breath to smell bad and the white tongue and or something else? please help

hello my boyfriend 23 does snore very loud but that is not the biggest problem, worst is that he really fight to take breath and waking up every 10-15 minutes spasmatically taking breath.different positions of sleeping doesn't changing anything. he've been told to try keep his chin down while sleep to let tongue unlock throat but its not working at all.he's non stop tired, sleepy, having strong headaches attacks, sore throat on the mornings. he's nose is blocked from having it broken but still having his mouth open all the time while sleeping he keeps struggling to take a breath even sleeping on the side with the face down. lots of sprays, plasters not helping at all. what to do to push him to sort it somehow. he's scared of nose surgery. but I think there might be problem with throat as well.

Hey,I've lately observed that I have tonsil stone. Every morning I try to get them out but I don't think everything is usually taken out because when I swollow my saliva I experience a foul taste at my tonsils. I use mouth wash but its of no use... Sometimes I use my finger and pass it on my tonsiljust to see if its smelly. Sometimes I smell nothing but most times it has a slight stinky smell (not high). My questions are:1. Is the method mentioned effective in testing breath? 2. Would my breath smell from a distance? Thanks. God bless!

The number 1 way to see how others observe your breath is to take the inside of your wrist and pick it with the BOTTOM of your tounge let it dry for a few seconds and smell it.

I read on a forum about how a woman cured her tonsil stones for good. She breaks open a probiotic tablet(any brand she says, I bought ultimate flora with 10 different strains for about $26 at Rite Aid) and she drops it into about 2 mouthfulls of warm water. She then would hold it in her mouth for about a minute moving her tongue around and trying to get it into all the little spaces at the back of her throat and then swallow it. I've been trying this for 2 days so far and so far no tonsil stones, but I did eat some dairy and had that horrible taste in my mouth immediately afterwards. I'm just waiting for my shipment of oral probiotics to come in and hopefully that will work for me. I believe that I upset the natural balance of bacteria in my mouth by obsessively brushing and using mouthwashes to kill as much bacteria as possible. Now I need to restore the good bacteria because it seems that the bad bacteria are naturally better at re-populating.

I have had bad breath, lost my job due to it. tried to find a new job but it's very hard once you stink up the office. I had tonsil stones and awful bad breath. My friend told me to Google Oraltech Labs as it got rid of his bad breath and his post nasal drip. I've been following Oraltech Labs for about 2 weeks now and I feel much better, also people are not avoiding me anymore so it seems to have cured my bad breath as well.

after all it is only bad breath if you think life is not worth living over bad breath then it not your bad breath that is the problim you shoud see you doc about feeling like that

I have had bad breath in the past and I think it's better now (although how can I tell how my own breath smells?) as I have been using the toothpastes etc from Dr Speizer - an Australian based bad breath clinic which you can have the products shipped to the UK from. It is expensive but as far as I'm concerned it's worth the price.

Use gum, it really helps. Also trust your friends. If you just ask your closest friends that you trust if they would tell you if you smelled bad, that is already a lot better. Also, it might be a case of halitophobia, that means you always think you have BB. It's not that bad as you think BB is!

I am 52 years old and bad breath has ruined so many areas of my life. I was less than 10 years old when a brother of mine mentioned my bad breath. I have tried everything and nothing makes any difference. I am a lot less confident and I feel like a leper at times. I am always looking out for other people's reactions, as there have been so many times when I have been confident my breath was okay, only to see someone hastily step away from me with an expression on their face, that leaves me in no doubt that my breath smells horribly. I brush my teeth, scrape my tongue and use mouthwash all the time. I get the odd time in any given day, when my breath may not smell. I dread trying to start a relationship with such bad breath, so have been single for more than 15 years now. It is so depressing and soul destroying to live with such bad breath and not be able to find a solution that works for me. I can be out for a social evening, having a really good time, and forget that I suffer from bad breath, until someone reacts to the smell, then I want to run and hide. There are so many foods, that I try to avoid, to try to help myself, to no avail. I eat a balanced diet, only drink water, have not touched alcohol since I was 18 and eat lots of fruit and vegetables of all colours, but it does not make my breath smell any better. Even family and friends have really embarrassed me, by swiftly moving away from me when they smell my bad breath. I have sensitive teeth, because I brush my teeth too many times a day, so have to use expensive toothpastes for sensitive teeth. I am so tired of having bad breath!!!!

Absolutely, bad breath can be detected in a small to medium room...What's worse is travelling in a car with bad breath..Even when your mouth is closed it can still be detected, as it is also breathed out through your nose, bad breath is a no win situation wherever you are..The smell literally follows you around...unfortunately.

don't be depressed too much.you're not the only one suffering with bad breath.me too is a bb sufferer.i haven't gone out from the house for many months.i tried to go out normally but this embarrassing illness can't be hidden.people are talking about me whether i hide in the house or go out.so i decided that this year i will go out, look for a job, earn and then try everything to get rid of this horrible disease.i have at least clue on how to solve it.it could have been started from my stomach.i have acid reflux, bloating and gas.and i found out it could be the culprit of my allergies and sinusitis.i think that if i will cure my stomach issues i can settle with the allergies and sinusitis.

why oh why do doctors not take bad breath more seriously, do they not realise that it ruins peoples lives. do they not realise that any one with bad breath konws that they have it and have probably tried everything on the market. is there some where you can go to volunteer to do trials on products that may help. seriously bad breath is one of the most annoying and embarassing problems that there is it is like farting in some ones face. please help.

I have the same problem as your husband, it's like you think your breath is bad but it isn't. I'm 58; I’ve had bad breath since junior school. My breath gets so bad that I have a strong burning sensation on my tongue. I had my tonsils out when I was eight. I've had 2 endoscopies and nothing found. My Dentist says my teeth & gums are in very good condition. Both he & my Doctor say the causes of bad breath are unknown. If you have bad breath every odour in your work place is blamed on you. People step back & put their hands over their mouths when you’re talking. Why do people that don't suffer like us think that the remedy to get rid of this problem is so easy, so you’re just plain dirty.
