I am 23 year old man and normally never have problems with bed wetting. Although, whilst on a couple of holidays in the past with my family, experienced some bed wetting and sleep walking. Am on holiday at present with some male friends and have had 2 nights of bed wetting. I feel worried and embarrassed, as we are sharing one room! I would really appreciate some advice asap.

After urinating, I have emptied my bladder, I wipe myself stand up pull clothes up and leave the toilet. Then sometimes a "bubble" bursts and I wet myself and at other times I do the same thing and I sit down and again I wet myself. I also find I need to go more at night when I am sleeping,Is this a sign of diabetes? The only symptom is the wetting myself, I am overweight but exercising and dieting to lose it. I have had children and turned 40 recently and started having frequent UTI after 2 bad bouts of Pneumonia. How can I stop wetting myself after just having been to the loo? I do the pelvic exercises already. Please help as I feel like I am constantly in wet clothing and I am getting very depressed as when I go to the Drs all they tell me is to lose weight which I am trying to do already. Thank you

you need to ask your doctor to refer you to a urologist. They can prescibe various drugs which are supposed to help with incintinence and also run tests which identify which part of the system is not working properly. I have been tested and found to be suffering from stress incontinence ( when cough or sneeze) and had the TVT tape operatioon which cured that but not the urge incontinence, I have insufficient warning when I feel I need to pass urine and have wet myself in public even when wearing pads . It got so bad I was unable to get from bed to loo in the middle of the night and was waking three or four times a night wanting to go. I did also have lots of urinary tract infections .I have been diagnosed with an irritable bladder, which means the nerves just stimulate the bladder to go even when not full. As tablets haven't worked i have had botox injections twice and this has been very helpful although not cured it completely. Sometimes too much botox can mean you have to use a catheter temporarily ...this has not happened to me. There is a fear that this is permanent but this is not true as the effects of the botox wear off in time...as indeed on one's face!Do get a referral to a urology specialist ( not a gynae specialist). I wish I'd gone years ago and not let it deteriorate as it did. Cutting doen liquid does not help as it concentrates the urine and makes it more likely to irritate. Increase fluids and cut down on caffiene..it has been suggested I drink caffeine free tea. Hope this helps

when i am laughing i can't controll my self and end up wetting myself! Does anyone know what is wrong? By the way i am Under 16

I'm 20 and I have dreams I'm going to the toilet then I wake up and realise I've half emptied my bladder. What can I do I'm quite worried its happened twice now in 6 months.... Arhhhh !!!

It seems the dreaming thing and the weeing is a very common experience

Determine the cause then one day my stepmom had offered to giveme a game if i stopped wetting to bed for 3 months. To my surprise i did not wet to bed for a month in a half i was so determined to get that game and i was shocked i had even kept track on the number of days but then on the next day of the s econd month i begun to start wetting and i did not know why and for the strange reason if i was uncomfortable i would not wet and if i was i would. I believe now that the cause of my bed wetting isba combination of my minds status which includes stress and my bodys physical condition u do not need medicine because u develop a dependency for it u need to find ways to stop it without meds unless its a disease. The first place i would try to pin point the cause of wetting is to start with your child hood thats what i started with if u have any questions please ask away u are not alone

i recommend if you are embarrassed by bed wetting wear lose pjs and wear pull ups they are good they don't tend 2 leek and they are fairly comfy i know what its like and maybe try not 2 think about it so much cause it may be stress that is causing your problem a good thing that stopped me wetting the bed was every time i go toilet i pee for about five seconds and then hold it in for about five second after i had done that for a while the bed wetting stopped i hope this advice helps you

You should go back to your doctor. You shouldn't have to accept wetting yourself at the age of 23. If you have a prolapse it won't repair itself. You will be wetting yourself for the next 60+ years?

I've been wetting myself for years since my childhood but a few years ago I've stopped wetting the bed it's just during the day I'm having problems with every time I try to hold I still wet myself so when I go out drinking with my family I have to bring sanatry towels with me which my mum gets delievered for her problems with her fits, I have to bring about 4 or 5 pads with me & plus wear one as well & each time when I don't make it to the toilet I change it in an instant years ago I got offered a operation but my parents turned it down because it was a new treatment & it had side effects & now that I'm an adult I never got to knew what that treatment was about what it could of done for me I do anything to stop wetting, I even have problems of having a relationship with people cos I tell them straigh away that way I don't get my heart set on someone who has a problem with my wetting, I get stress out because I can't do anything about it I had tests & they said I have no muscle to hold on it's down to me, I have to create that myself but I tried that in the past it never works out.

I used to wet during the night now it's very rare that I do that but sometimes during the day I wet myself I don't seem to able to hold it in & I herd that someone did offered me an operation when I was little because I wet myself too much I tried star charts everything far as I know the operation was bone marrow treatment at the time my parents refused it because they didn't want me too ill or something I just wish there was something for me out there to stop me from wetting each time when I have a pint I have to go toilet 2 or 4 times plus also have a very thick sanatry towel when that too wet I have to change it I don't wear sanatry towels all the time unless I know that I'm drink larger or any other drink specially when I'm in my local pub & I take time with my drinks because my parents won't let me drink faster like they do I'm the second youngest out of 4 my brother & sisters never had wetting problems maybe my brother wetting his bed but he grew out of it quicker than I did I had so many water infections & kidney infections couldn't prove it was due to my wetting

hi monica i'm 15 too and i've been wetting the bed all my life i've tried lots of different tablets and for me none of them seem to worked, iits realy uppseting thinking that the condition might never stop. i've recently tried tena discreet pants they don't stop the bed wetting but if you go to sleepovers ware them under your pajamers they will never know you wet the bed.

i started wetting the bed when my parents divored when i was 6. I am now 15 but i used to have a problem wetting the bed. I would do it every night. my mum got angry with me which made it worse and she ook me to the doctor and i saw the school nurse. I wet the bed until about a year and a half ago and still very occasionally do it. After all those years I think I now havew a weak bladder as if i get really hyper and laugh histerically i wet myself a bit. Is this normal for people who used to wet the bed? thanks for reading this!

Hi Im 21 and female. I have never had children but ever since I was little I have been wetting myself. I have found that it is getting worse and I cannot hold it in. I have tried pelvic floor exercises and they have not worked, I am also a dancer. I have also found a lump on my vagina which has thought to be a water duct and was wondering if this is the reason for the wetting to be worse?

You may have a pelvic floor that is too tense. It is common among dancers and runners. I recommend getting a physio to check your pelvic floor tone.
