you should go see your gp as i had this condition its not serious, it is like just itching a scab but go to the doctors about the bleeding.

Hi I have a mole which was checked by a doctor last year who said it was nothing to worry about and I recently used sun beds and a few nights later the mole bled a tiny bit. Since then I have not noticed more bleeding which isn't to say it hasn't.. Is this a sign of skin cancer even though I was told the mole was nothing to worry about a year ago

i had a normal mole on my arm and then one day i accidentally burnt it while getting something out of the oven. i had a scab over the mole for about a week and then when the scab came off i was left with my mole, but it had thinned out and spread into more moles next to the original mole. is it worth getting it checked out?

I have had two holes adjacent to my left ear since birth. The top mole became enlarged, scabbed over then faded around a year ago. The bottom mole remained itchy and has been repeatedly scabbing over for about 14 months. A hot bath, catching it with my hairbrush, towel drying etc will result in bleeding. Now one on my next has started the same process. Is this just the result of hormonal changes, natural fluctuations in the body or something to worry about. Currently doing my masters full time, so getting time off for medical appointments and managing to get on during scheduled free time is a miracle.

I am a 16 year old girl, and since the age of 11 i have had a mole just below my neck, on the necklace line. It started as just what looked like a light brown smudge mark on my skin, however about 2-3 years ago the mole has started to grow outwards, into what looks like a bubbly wart. It was only a few months ago that it caught my attention, when a friend told me that she thought it had moved further to the right, and since then I have been keeping an eye on it. The mole has sections which I fear are falling off, as they become less and then a few weeks later there is more, I have noticed a little soreness and bleeding but I am unsure if it is due to it catching on my clothes, however i have never had the problem of it rubbing before. The mole has a base which is light brown, and has edges which are uneven and are jaged, yet the actual mole itself is a darker brown and is is wart like, and if i was to seperate the sections then you could see the base of the mole. I am worried about whether or not it is or will turn cancerous. I have discussed it with my parents but they really dont seem too bothered and shrug it off, I am unable to go to the doctors alone due to other illness's i have suffered with in the past. I really dont know what to do. any advice :? thanks xx

I'd really recommend getting that looked at. It could be nothing or it could be dangerous, but it's always better to get these things looked at. Can you get a friend to go with you? I've taken friends to see GPs before, and my boy friend has come with me to see the GP a couple of times.

I have a mole near my shoulder bone that sticks out quite a bit and whilst handling a guinea pig today it jumped up and scratched my mole, It's been bleeding on and off since and after checking it tonight I've noticed that the scratch has gone right through the mole so it actually looks like it's split in two! I'm afraid in case I accidentally scratch a piece off or it falls off! I'm afraid to phone a doctor or nurse in case it's nothing and they think it's a waste of time... What should I do? Will it harm me? and is it normal to accidentally scratch moles and cause them to bleed?

No Doctor or Nurse is going to think it's a waste of time... I had a mole on leg that I scratched accidentally and it bled.... After apologising to both my GP and a skin specialist for wasting their time, I was told I had a malignant melanoma....Fortunately caught in the early stage, and removed quickly I am now on the road to recovery...Hope I haven't scared you, but better safe than sorry. x

Hi, I have a raised mole on my chin that went black, I accidentally scratched it and it fell off and started bleeding quite a bit. It doesn't hurt but is still raised and reddish, though the mole itself had gone. I have quite a few raised moles on my face another on on my cheek has scabbed over and bled before. I also have a flat reddish mole on my jaw line. They have all grown considerably over the last 4 years, however my doctor says there is nothing to worry about. I tan quite easily and don't burn, however I am concerned, should I be?? I'm sure if I make another appointment with the doctor he will make me feel as if I am wasting his time again.

My little sister is 7 years old and she was born with a flat brown mole on her back. In the last year the mole has formed a white ring around the mole. My mum has taken her to the doctors and the said it was because the mole was going. A year on and she still has the mole with the ring around it. Should we be worried or is this normal?

I think you should see another doctor, one who specializes in skin concerns. Don't wait. A growing mole is something to take seriously. Go do it. Now.

Go straight back to the doctors! You can't be too careful!!!

I have had two moles removed, one which had every warning sign going, my other mole was on my shoulder and regularly bleeding, both of them were removed before I was 18. My advice to you all is go to the doctor, they know the warning signs. My doctor kept kept regular records of my large mole.

if your dad needed his checked and it was similar to yours then the chances are it would be a good idea to have yours checked also. and even if they do have to remove it, then atleast its gone forever :)

A good few months back, I fell over and where my mole is between my ankle and foot, I got some friction which made the skin around my mole fairly dodgy and sore. I went surfing and I'm guessing along with the rubbing of my leash on the mole area and the sea water... My mole came off! So over a month it was sore and scabbing until I was left with a scar and now over the following months, my mole is back. I have had an incident like this before with the same mole, but this time I am worried.. Because every now and then, I get a subtle pain in the muscle area around it.. But I'm not sure if it is just because I'm doing much more walking lately! If someone thinks I have anything or nothing to worry about, please let me know!
