If someone can answer me please: 3 year old child has constipation for long time like 6 months and hard stools. he had red blood on stools but we started giving him much more fluids and the last time stools came out with no blood at all and softer but still rocky and stuck together. when I check his tummy I can feel like a tumours on left side of tummy very low (colon I think). after last bowel movement I did not find that like things like tumours in his tummy, but after one day I can feel it again. Could it be very serious like cancer? our appointment for this with doctor in hospital will be just after 2 month. child never complains about pain, even when I check tummy, is happy, active, but scared to do poo and says pain is there to do poo. what do you think does it look just like haemorrhoids ....? outside everything is ok, but must be inside.
Since March 2010, my bowel habits havn't been normal: constipation and diarrhea and then back to normal, not so much as diarrhea but more loose stools as i don't go frequently. Also been having some dull pains, ometimes quick sharp ones, around the sides and top mid of my abdomen, sometimes after ive eaten. From around 7 months ago my stools have been coming out quite tarry, along with being loose, but sometimes theyve been normal with black-ish/tarry bits in them the size of a smartie. Went to the doctor 2 months ago and got a blood test and was given mebeverene tablets and fybagel sachets. Blood test showed that ive an ever-so-slightly low rbc count and was given folic acid tablets. Then a month ago i saw red smudges along the mucus on stools, ive had mucus in stools since march 2010 as well, maybe longer. Went to the doctor, got a rectal exam there and them and he diagnosed IBS and was given mebeverene again. The symptoms are still therte and i think it might be more than IBS. Stomach's hurting right now. Anyone have anything similar? thank you for reading.
Sounds like chrons get your gp to refer you to a hospital gastro clinic there is treatment and you can live a normal life.
For the past 6 months I have been having pain in my upper abdomen and throughout I have periods where I been having pain when passing stools. There is no change to my stools when the pain first starts then I feel the need to pass a stool frequently, up to 5 times a day or even more. Sometimes there is blood but rarely. Lately I have been seeing what I can describe as bits of fleshy tissue in the bowel after. I have been told I have gastritis and gallbladder polyps. Is is linked in anyway?
i have weight loss blood in my stools with no change to my diet horrible back pain. i have diarrhea sometimes and constipated the next. ive had blood tests done that said my nutritional levels were normal my thyroid was normal and im lost as to what it could possibly be.
if u have stomach pain, tiredness and a change in you have diarrhea one day, hard poor the next, it could be crohns disease, colitus or irritable bowl xx

hey i suffer from ulcerative colitis and i had all them symptoms when i first got diagnosed but it did take a while for the doctors to pick it up, could be something else but on a similar line but you seriously need to go back to doctors and explain and demand something more to be done as its not nice feeling like that!! ..
I most of the time have normal size bowel movements. But sometimes there thin. I was told by my doctor when she took a bowel smear that there was blood. I don't believe that only because when I get tested it's after I wiped myself to hard and caused myself to bleed so I think it comes on to her glove and then gets on my stool. But I'm rechecking it at home with one of those kits you take home and bring back to the doctors to be checked. I don't see any blood in my stool. My stools are not black, or white , or yellow so dose it sound like I really have blood or not?
I have suffered with constipation for quite some time now. My stools are almost always hard and difficult to pass, and I tend to poo three or less times a week. I have recently become aware that before I need to relieve myself I can feel the stools through the back of my vaginal wall? Applying a gentle (painless) pressure to this helps me a lot in passing stools. Unfortunately because of my busy schedule at the moment I cannot go to the doctors for around another month, but I still want to try and solve this problem. Is there any way I can without being prescribed anything?
Hi. I have exactly the same problem and am searching this site to see if its normal or not as Id hate to go to the drs only to be told its normal!! Susanne
Hi have the same problem ,can anyone help ?.i eat quite healthy I've tried high fibre diets and still nothing ,I can drink orange juice by the carton and eat fruit and I'm still lucky to go to the toilet twice a week ,feel very bloated .
I have about 3 ulcers on my stomach. I've been in extreme pain for so long. I throw up blood quite a lot and I've had blood in my stools too. I've been to the hospital but they only gave me medicine that doesn't help and took some tests. I'm somewhat anemic. When I go to the hospital/doctor/er they say they can't do anything about my bleeding ulcers or pain. What doni do?
Look up the SCD (specific carbohydrate diet) lots of networks and things on the Internet and also a book by Ellain Gottshall called breaking the vicious cycle. If you are not severe enough for surgery this could help you before that happens. I've had the surgery and I'm going to try the diet further down the line. Good luck
I have had sharp pains and bleeding when passing stools for over two years now, what could it be and what can i do? sometimes its a tiny spec of blood, but sometimes its quite a lot - i am 17
