What Beta Blockers do you take to stop the severe blushes? I have heard there is an operation you can have to stop this blushing/flushing from happening.

Hi, I don't have an answer but i can sympathise becasue i have teh exact same problem. I can't wear low cut tops- I live in polo necks and dread the summer as i can't wear them and I know people see my neck going red- it controls my life too. I started taking beta blockers and they have helped stop the severe blushes but haven't solved it completely. I read that botox injections can stop the blushing and I am going to see a doctor soon who might be able to help. You should ask your doctor about these things.

i had this happen to me after giving birth to my first child, was told by my consultant that i had something called chronic hurtacaria, she told me thst a change in my hormones had left me allergic to certain foods & medcines & that it would come & go of its own accord, the only thing that cleared it up was oral steroids which i could't take forever so i had to learn to live with it until i got pregnant again & to my relief at 30wks pregnant i stopped itching & touch wood haven't itched since.

I'm 32yrs old and have had a problem with my skin on my arms only for over a year now. The problem is that every now and then my arms come up blotchy red and itchy and when they go it looks as if my skin has scars. I have tried different creams and they don't work, I even went to my doctor and they said it was hair follices but I don't have any hairs on my arms. My skin dries up very quickly and it is sentivtive to touch wither the blotches are there or not. Please can someone help.

Hi, My boyfriend has a skin condition and i'm not sure he know what it is (i don't even think the docs have every got to the bottom of what it is. He has been to the doc hundreds of times over the years and he is always given another type of cream or lotion and another course of antibotics for an "infection" This rash/dry skin is always dry, itchy, red sometimes blotchy and always painful, the worst places he get it is around his ears, face esp forehead, all over arms, back and back of legs, its so bad he can scratch his skin raw while he is sleeping with the irratation. Does anyone have any idea what this could be or how we can go about getting him the correct help, i'm at my wits end with him scratting during the night while trying to stop him hurting himself too much. He feels like no one can help him and i think he is sick of the same old results from the doctors.

hi there, reading this sounds like he might have Psoriasis.a close friend i no has this & it sounds like your boyfriend might have this as well.go see your doc & ask him/her if this might be what it is.i hope this will help you :-).

I keep noticing a small area of white blotchy dry skin next to my urethra, and also the skin at the tip but under of my foreskin (which because I am uncircumcised is often hidden) is quite bumpy and dry. It can often become quite odourous at times and no matter how much I clean, you can still smell it - I'm not sure of the best method to clean it that will prevent this? It varies from time to time sometimes it appears there is nothing wrong, other times it is quite clear. There is no pain and other than what I've mentioned there is nothing else wrong, I can still masturbate, have sex and pee normally. I'm just worried there's some underlying issue.

What you're referring to sounds like you may have smegma. It is not uncommon for Men to have this, especially not Teenagers whom are going through Puberty. Just make sure you wash your penis, 2/3 times a day, especially under the foreskin.

Just a question. I shaved my pubic hair all off. I've been doing it for years but for some reason lately sort of the bottom side bits of my fanny sort of on my very inside of my butt cheeks are blotchy and extremely itchy and has caused dry skin. I think I may have over shaved it more than normal and now have caused this. I have used creams and I very rarely itch it as I know that will make it worse but the redness and dry skin doesn't seem to be budging. I'm also not really worried as it doesn't cause me pain or any other problems just not very comfortable. Just want to know how to prevent it, because I really dont want to have it forever. haha

Hi, I'm 15 and a week ago I began to develop a small pink, blotchy rash on both of my hips (at first it seemed to be dry skin). over the week the redness calmed down but the rash continued to develop. A couple of days ago I notice the rash was going red again and was itchy whenever I got warm e.g. In the shower, it is still itchy now and is still developing over my hips and up my sides. I haven't eaten different foods, used different wash products or used different washing detergents. I have also tried a cream called epaderm which is for eczema and dry skin but I haven't noticed any difference. Any advice??

I have been experiencing a very annoying moving itch that started on my back, moved up to my shoulders and now goes round my hips over my tummy and down the back of my left leg. It feels lovely when I scratch, and then I have lots of small spots and red blotchy skin. I have had a blood test done which showed up nothing wrong. what can it be it started 9 months ago when i was 65. I have been prescribed many different creams, and nothing worked.

I've got the same blotchy appearance on my skin too and I have been desperate to know why. It started on my hands about 11 months ago, as one little pale blotch (I don't tan well..) and slowly spread. All of my hands are pale..I also have pale patches on my arms, the tops of my feet and the inside of the top of my legs. I watched the programme tonight (10th Feb)and seeing someone else with the same patchy skin made me realise that maybe I can do something about it. It has really upset me having this blotchy skin. Thank you for showing it.

Hello, I am 18 years old and 2 years ago on holiday in India I fell asleep in the sun and burnt my front badly. The sun burn healed but has now left me with blotchy discoloured and dry skin on my front which has now travelled under my armpits. I've already tried an number of creams, moisturisers, lotions, oils but nothing seems to work. Please help me as I would love to wear a bikini again without feeling embarrassed because I have blotchy skin! Thanks

I go all blotchy when i get out of the bath, i put a continuous coverage foundation on straight away to cover the redness up. But the tops of my arms are blotchy too and my back, like circles of dry skin. It is embarrasing, i dont even let my partner see me. Also i go bright red if i'm in a warm room, it's awful and if someone talks to me it makes me even worse. Can you help me because i have lived with this for years and it's taking over my life? My knees tend to get overheated too and go red and feel hot to touch. I am so embarrassed.

Hi, I'm 23. I have had problems with blushing for years! I do not think you have rosacea, tho you cam confirm this with your doctor. I have tried many medications trying to find something that would help. I used a medication known as Propranolol it is a small pink tablet and is a beta blocker. They are used for many uses including anxiety. This for me was my main cause of blushing. It seems as soon as you feel like you may blush, you are! It had bothered me for so long though these have helped me hugely. Out of the range of prescription drugs I have tried these gave me positive results. Research them and speak to your doctor also! Hope this helps mate

Hi. I am 25 and for years I have suffered with this same embarrassing blotchy red rash that appears on my neck, chest, tops of my arms and sometimes my cheeks. It happens at all times like when i'm nervous, embarrassed, excited, upset, angry. It happens when i'm hot, somtimes when i drink alcohol too. It really gets me down as its just so embarrassing especially when it happens when in a public place and people comment, like 'oh you've got a big red rash all over' or 'oh why have you gone so red?' Ive never been to my doctor about it as I just think they will laugh at me! I just wish there was a miracle cure as its ruining my confidence. I want to be able to wear nice dresses etc without worrying about going all red and blotchy :(

I get sores under my penis skin even though I shower every day. The head is sometimes blotchy with red patches. One remedy was NOT to use soap but are there any other ways in which to help.

Are you under the care of a Dermatologist.. If not get one and consult and build a record with one..Ensure you find one you are comfortable with, or else change till you do.. Upper lip hair, can be easily faded with a facial bleach from the Pharmacy.. Laser is a option, but is not permanent but a reduction and takes quite a few sessions.. In regards to your dry skin issue, get this diagnosis for what it is them treat accordingly.. A Gp may help you on that one and give your a script for the correct medicated cream/ointments.. Whilst there ask for referral to a Dermatologist for on going care, in particular for the HS situation.. If correctly managed and understood better the HS is tolerable.. Dermatologist should be able to assist there. Sabrina,

yeh I will look into it im embarrassed to go but I will have to pluck up the courage and go thanks for reply. do I ask my doctor to be referred to a dermatologist

I am a 20 year old pale skinned female and I have this embarrassing problem where the skin on my legs and the back of my hands hands turns purple and blotchy. The skin on my hands has this mottled thread-like appearance, it looks like you can see the little veins under the skin. I have had this ever since I was a child but it used to only happen when I was cold. Now it happens all the time but it goes away if I am lying down or exercising. If I stand still my legs go really purple and they look like the legs of a dead person. It's particularly difficult in summer when I see everyone else in shorts and skirts and I have to cover up.

I have them on my cheeks and on large one on my left eyelid. About four years ago i went to a beautician and payed approximately £60 for all of them to be popped. This left me with a pizza face. My skin was blotchy and pierced afterwards and having so many removed from around my eyes was painful, making me feel quite sick. The spots came back quite quickly once my skin had healed and bigger than ever in some places. So it is not advised, especially around the eyes.

hey. I am 16 and recently had what i believed to be thrush. I treated it and it cleared, but about 2 weeks ago my head had become very red and blotch, along with itching and sometimes some smegma, also some days its red and blotchy on the skin below my head, what could this be?
