I am a 17yr old female and i, like many others who have posted here, have hair ALL OVER my body. My whole leg is covered in hair, not one spot is hair less. Arms too. Facial hair is getting worse as i grow older, they are not obvious from far but if you were to be 10cm or closer to me you could definitely see those unpleasant looking growths. My body and back is also so hair. I dare say that my whole body is covered in hair, the only place that is hair-free is probably my palms and soles.. Help this makes me feel horrible. Even wearing things as simple as shorts and a shirt that has shorter sleeves is troublesome as i have to epilate constantly.. Are there any drugs or treatments i can go through?

Hi, I am 21 and I have had a lot of hair loss of my head for a while and I have noticed my hair is a lot thinner than before and I think I can noticed my hair line thinning as well so am really worrying as do not want to go bold. I also have hair all over my body since puberty. Its not very long and thick, its short, fine hair but still noticeable and its everywhere. I haven't removed any body hair besides legs, arms and pubic areas as do not want it to get worse. I am currently having laser hair removal on my legs but not sure if it’ll work on others areas such as my stomach as is finer hair and I am Indian. Is there anything I can do? Should I consult with doctor and is there anything that can be done? Thank you

Hi Kiran. Typically men who have high levels of the hormone testosterone generally have quite a bit of body hair. Strangely enough, the same chemical responsible for hair growth on the body can also cause hair to thin on the top of the head. The reason for this is because (for reasons still unknown to science) the hairs on the top of the head are sensitive to a chemical called DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) which is a form of testosterone. What happens next is that the hairs on the top of the head tend to go into the 'sleep' stage of their development, which means that the hair follicle will only produce thin, short, pale hairs. There are many treatments for this kind of hair thinning such as Rogaine, Procepia and Growthex. For example, Growthex works by putting the hair back in to the 'growth' phase so the hair follicle start producing thicker longer hairs.

it doesnt matter how fine the hair is, laser hair removal damages the hair follicle and prevents any more hair growing. if you go to your doctor they can discuss options with you. but i also think you should consult the doctor about the hair loss as this could be caused by a few things such as hormonal problems, so best get it checked out!

I am a 21 year old hetrosexual male with very little body hair. I have no hair whatsoever under my armpits and only a small amount of wispy, very fine pubic hair in my genital area. I have no facial or chest hair either, however I am of normal stature (6ft tall) with a normal head hair and a normal sized penis and testicles (6" x 5 1/2") I find it extremely embarrassing in changing room situations with other men but the worst situation by far is when a new girlfriend, (who so far have all been much hairier than me, by the way) sees my virtually hairless body and says something like 'I wish I didn't have to shave all the time' - and 'you're so lucky' which is not really what I want to hear. Do you think my lack of body hair may be down to a lack of Testosterone or could it be something else?

I have no hair growing on my chest or near my pubic area why is this

Hi, I am 15 1/2 years old and I have had alopecia almost since birth. I have never been happy with this and around 2 years ago I decided to begin shaving my hair. This has lead to reduced hair re-growth to the point were my hair is now only growing on two small patches on my scalp. I have had injections which helped the re-growth somewhat but I finished my course of treatment and the progress was lost. I would like to know if there is anything else that I could try? Another question is body hair. I do have body hair around the genitals and armpits. However, I do not have any hair on the forearms, legs or chest. The hair on my armpits is also much less than that of my friends. I would like to know if this is at all linked with alopecia and if there is any help I could get on this as well? Thanks

im 20 year old girl from middle east. my body is covered with hair. in androgen dependant areas the hair is darker and thicker rather than other places, but since the terminal hairs are covering all over my body im just wondering if it's a mild case of hypertricosis or not. and by the way i remember having terminal hair on my forearm and legs when i was a child. and i even remember having pubic hair at 8 although i started bleeding at 13.

I think you will find that most men of Indian decent have body hair. The only way to get rid of it, is waxing, shaving, or a profession do for that removes it with a laser. But that will be very expensive. I go to a son that offers waxing and have it removed. And sometimes, I just shave. For the winter mo the when Im not going to be outside with my shirt off, I just let it grow. Me have hairy body's a d some don't. Just embrace the fact you are a man. Good luck!

hey cheatn did u get any treatment for ur problem or not yet???plz help me cause i have the same problem over here.

I am not sure if this is the reason for the hair on my body, but it is said when someone has anoxeria they get fine hairs- all over their body. When i was about 7 i was obsessed with my weight, because i thought i was fat when i was 6, so i lost weight and became extremely slim, i used to look at my rib cage in the mirror every evening. At 9 i have thin hairs growing over my body and have had hairs over my body since then, for about 6-7 years. Could this be the reason for my bosy hair- i've put on weight in recent years, but then all of a sudden i had hair growing on my hair, which i need had before. Was my weight loss the reason for my body hair?

you are not alone one of my friends is in exactly your same siutation, he has thick hair on his back, and on his chest and he has t sam problem with you in that area he is also self concious of it but he's in his twentys and has learnt to except its him but just wanted to let u know u were not alone.

A hairy man is a happy man. I am very hairy too and it does not worry me. Do not shave anything but your face. Many women love a hairy man.

i am in the same situation as yourself and spent 59years hiding my body because i have lots of dark body hair and after the menopause i thought it may improve, wrong now i have really course whiskers on my face and the legs, arms, facial and body hair has got worse.I have tried every conceivable removal method and none have worked for me and the doctor says everyone has hair and not to worry, alright for him he is a man.All i can say is although you feel alone with this problem you are not.

I'm 21 years old and I've had 'excessive' body hair since I was 14. I've been tested for hormone imbalances, and PCOS, which came back negative. I have hair on my neck, chin, chest, breasts, stomach, and a little bit on my back. I have regular periods (I'm like a clock). I had always shaved my body hair, plucked my breast hair, and plucked my facial/neck hair in the hopes that no one would notice it. I always felt like a freak, and that no man would ever be attracted to me if he knew. However, since coming to college I realized that having body hair does not make me a freak and does not have to be a source of embarrassment. I do still pluck my face/neck hair and shave the parts of my chest that show, but I keep my breast, stomach, pubic and leg hair long. Every time I search on the internet, there are so many websites dedicated to the removal of body hair, but none that talk about acceptance and confidence about it. Why should I be ashamed because my body is different? Even though I remove some hair, I'm very open about it. I feel sexy and confident. I've told men I've dated about it, and some have been disgusted (though they pretended not to be), but some have also been completely fine with it (one even liked it). Anyway, ladies I just want you to know that self-consciousness isn't your only option in this. You can love yourself just the way you are.

I feel your pain 100%, i feel very insecure about the hair on my body. The thing is, not to blow my own trumpet, but I am a skinny 17 year old girl and would like to wear low back tops etc etc. I lighten the hair using boots hair lightening cream, and yes it looks a lot better, but still I have more than many girls with blonde hair. My only worry is that I won't get a boyfriend with this hair! - you have one and he doesn't care. I think we over think this issue, if someone likes you they won't care about some hair on your body! sorry this wasn't very good, just wanted to share that there are others out there with the same problem! xxxx

dont shave it anymore as it will grow back quicker and darker, buy bleaching agents from boots specifically for body hair, it makes the hair lighter/blonder after 10 minutes. Or go to the doctors and they may be able to offer free treatments. It could also be because of your hormones, they can cause you to grow extra hair sometimes, but if you are dark skinned/have dark hair then body hair would be more noticable.

There are many things you can do but some like laser hair removal are too expensive. You can try using a body hair lightening cream for your body hair, and use a cream made to reduce facial hair. I'm pretty sure you can get it from your GP, and the hair lightening cream can be bought in many shops. Hope I've helped a little :) x

Hey Kellie, im 17 and have also recently been diagnosed with PCOS. As well as going through normal teenage body hang ups, i have dark hair which completely covers all my body, and when i say all my body, i mean all. Im fairly pale too, and i get really self concious. Id reccommend bleaching, as shaving and waxing are so evensive, timely and just damn annoying! I find jolen bleach really good, although the hair is still there, it turns so pale that its barely noticeable. Give it a try. My normal hair colour returns in about 2 weeks, so if its not good, you dont have long to wait. But good luck in your quest for a hair-free body :)

Everyone has hair all over their body, apart from on the palms of their hands and soles of their feet. I am a 22 year old female and have dark brown hair. The hair on my body is dark and is more noticable on my back, bum (lol), stomach, arms. It's normal to be a bit hairy for dark haired girls. If you really feel like you can't live with it then the best thing to do is get a wax. Waxing will eventually reduce hair growth and unlike shaving, the hair will not grow back within hours and it doesn't cause stubble. Don't let hair take over your life or hold you back.

I have been thinking considerably about getting laser hair removal because it affects my confidence a lot, but the cost of this is very expensive!
