Im only 18 and have had boils since i was about 12. im scared all over my bum and legs! use hibbe scrub! just go to the chemist and ask for it. It works wonders. dont get me wrong they will still come up but it will help. hope this works for u

Hi there I just went to check out the net about the scrub that is mentioned in the post by Grace and actually I think its called Hibiclens scrub and it advised not to use over prolonged periods.

Recently, I've being getting boils a lot, so far I've had two on my groin and just this morning I found one in the crevase on my nose. I dont know whats causing them because I have never had boils before in my life, before I thought they were just big spots cause I'm still going through puberty. I've just been popping them but they just come back on a different of my body. What should I do to make them go away and stay away? Heather

I feel tired and lethargic all the time i'm now on my 6th course of antibiotics and my Dr is stumped? If i cut myself it tends to get infected also. I ended up in A+E with what looked like 4 at once in the same area. Now had about 20 boils. Legs bum nose ear groin areas. At my wits end. Any ideas????

Hi I just wanted to say I am 15 and I have a similar problem but on the top of the back of my thighs and the very start of my buttocks. They only came about recently and my mum suggested I took a hot bath to bring out the swelling. I would NOT suggest you burst the boil as this is extremely painful. I would just have a warm bath or put a warm damp flannel on the area and it will bring out the boil and eventhough the boil will still be there it should just pop itself now you've brought it to the surface. It shouldn't be anymore Noticeable and just be gentle when you first get out the bath/ remove the flannel after maybe twenty minutes? Do this like once a day and it should just pop itself, this should not hurt and if you don't notice it Popped it might just go down naturally. Also once the area is dry I really suggest kamillosan ointment. You should be able to buy it anywhere, it's for pregnant women who get rashes when they breastfeed and it made my boil much less painful and soothed it, they tended to disappear after a few days. They may come back every now and then but the flannel/bath and ointment whenever you need it is guaranteed to work. Hope this helped x

I keep getting boils around my right arm pit but not my left arm pit, Also i get boils in my inner buttocks and these become very pain full. Most of my boils dont pop unless i pop them myself, they really hurt. When my boils do not pop they leave a sag of skin or a scar which becomes very uncomfortable. I have been to the doctors about this and they only gave me antibiotics and i couldn't cope with them. But i haven't been back and would like advise on what i should do next.

Usually when boils appear it's because of something in your diet. If you get boils in or close to vaginal area you need to see a docter. you are eating something unhealthy or something that is making the boils reappear.

Hi, I have had recurring boils for the last ten years. I have been diagnosed with HS and they want to operate but will have to do a skin graft etc. My boils are in my chest between my breasts where there is very little tissue and my sternum is just below. They will not operate even though I have begged them and told them that a scar is better than these ugly painful boils but again I have been given antibiotics and sent home. It is very frustrating and I know how you feel. At times I have considered slicing the boils myself because they get so painful and tight and I get very down and want to cry about them, It seems like the doctors do not understand.

Hi. I have been getting boils on the top inner thighs. As one dissapears another appears and they are verry sore. Approx 1 year ago I had a cyst on my vaginal opening which popped It seems like these boils have been appearing since. Would getting the boils have anything to do with the cyst I had. Please help this is getting me down.

Ichthammol ointment is amazing it didn't pop my boil it drained it I put on at night and when I work up the boil on my inner thigh was gone. It's black and stained my underwear but worth it.

Hi hun, I feel your pain, I suffer from these too. I have had them under one of my breasts, on my inner thighs, around my private part/leg area, or a lil on my behind too. I do have diabetes, so I link it to that mostly as my sugars can be very high at times- it can be caused from shaving, ( I was told once to prevent infection such as this or folleculitis, which I got on my leg after shaving and its horribly itchy and hard to fight)- to use single blade razors instead of double or triple. The best thing to do if you don't want to go to doctor is to soak in a nice hot bath, and when your laying down, put a bowl of nice hot steaming water next to you and keep dipping a face cloth in it and ringing it out, place it over the boil, the heat helps draw it to a head like a whitehead/pimple- don't mess with it it will only irritate it, to deal with the pain i got some boil pain reliever cream from walgreens, and i also put a little Salve called PRID on it with some gauze which will draw it out also, after a day or two of this, it should pop on its own, I would keep some gauze or some tissue or whatever in the area in side your pants in case it opens up while you are out, getting in and out of car, movign around walking etc will kinda get it ready to open. Sorry so long but summary- 1. Get some pain reliever cream for cheap and the draw it out salve if you want. 2. Apply the hot face cloth at night when laying down. 3. Keep gauze down there so there is not a mess when it pops. Make sure you use shaving cream or lotion when you shave down there so there is moisture. Hope that helps.

So many of the above postings sound like Hidradenitis - But don't confuse HS with "plain old boils". Boils usually have a core - but HS "lumps" haven't. If you are suffering from plain old boils - count yourself lucky as they are usually isolated outbreaks - but at present HS is incurable and unfortunately carries many side effects.

I have two boils, one on my inside leg and the other just on the outer labial fold of my vagina, the leg one isn't painful but the other one kinda is because of the location and general friction amount. I'll be on a course of antibiotics to sort out an infection in my belly button, dya think that the antibiotics will help the boils clear up too. Think the boils started due to shaving, here's hoping they go away soon.

My son is 29 and has had 4 enormous boils on his face for the last 7 years. He has had to go through many social events with these embarrassing and painful boils, 2 of which were his brother's wedding then his sister's wedding. He has smaller boils on his neck and near his ear lobe. He has tried many creams and tablets but to no avail. When I look at him I only see his beautiful blue honest eyes, but I know he would love for them to go away.

Hope This Helps everyone on here, I have had boils since I was in my teens....mostly on my butt. I found this soap that i purchased online and have yet to see if I can find in drug stores, but i'm going to try. It is called BLACK AFRICAN SOAP. I have been solely using this soap for several months and have not had one flair up since....It truely keeps the boils at bay, and I highly recommend this product to anyone that has a recurrence of boils.

Sounds to me like boils. Usually boils grow in areas with hair but can also appear in places that are closed and moist. Like how sum ppl get them in the mouth kinda the same thing. Also boils are usually said to be painful and do pop on their own and yes very smelly. Brown discharge sounds like blood and green is pus both associate with a popped boil. I would have my doctor take a sample of the discharge if possible just to make sure. But like I said seems like a boil.

i suffer from under arm boils and infections. i take minocylin one a day long term anti-biotics. as i work abroad a lot, i sometimes run out of the tablets. within a week the boils are back. when i take the tablets i still get the boils from time to time, but not as extreme. are there any other treatments available? or will i have to take these anti-biotics for the rest of my life?

im 14 and i have as well! have you found a cure????!!!!

I've suffered boils on my buttocks for as long as I can remember. I don't even get a relief period of no boils...they are constant. I've tried everything to get rid of them but nothing at all works. In turn the problem has dented my confidence, self-esteem...everything. The closest I've come to finding the cause of them is "stress" but how can I finally get rid of them when just having them stresses me out even more? The embarrassment is so great that I cant even bring myself to go to my doctor. It's affected me so badly in an emotional sense that I struggle to leave the house. All because of boils on a part of my body that no one but me can see!! They have ruined my life! I've given up on my love life cause of them...

I've had a similar problem from about the age of 12, not so much boils, but more like acne on my buttocks aswell. It's a big confidence downer. I've been using Sudocream on it which seems to bring it down a lot, but it doesn't get rid of them, I know if you take certain antibiotics it can help deter them, but it would mean going to the doctors, something which I am not wanting to do. I remember watching an episode of embarressing bodies where a girl went on with a more severe example of this, I forgot the name of the condition but it lasts to the age of 30 .. for some people it will go away quicker-it differs with each person. I wish I knew how to get rid of them permanently though.

I believe I have hs and have suffered with boils and puss filled sores for years which started when i started puberty at the age of 8-now 19 years on I suffer with very bad boils almost everyday and are worst when I get very stressed. These boils are very painful most of the time and my groin under arms and under my breasts are very scarred. I believe doctors don't really know how to diagnose this condition properly as I haven't had a proper diagnosis and only know about the condition from the embarrassing bodies programme. I have been to my doctor many times in the past and I am given very strong antibiotics. Which work but only briefly. More research into this skin condition needs to be done so suffers are more comfortable when they have these boils flare up.i would very much like to know options on treatment so I could take this to my doctor and discuss my options with them.

I sometimes get like hidden boils on my genital region. I'm not sure if it is ingrown hair or not, and I don't think it's a STI as I've been getting these boils randomly before I was sexually active. Any other possibilities?

hi, im 19 yrs old and have had HS since i was approx 13/14yrs. They are very sore at the moment and there have developed just under my arm pit, they are large pus filled boils that scar and are ichy. Sometimes i even get black head like spots just beside the boils. I have been on 2 different types of antiboitics from my GP but both have made the boils worse. They have developed on my inner thighs, my arm pits and near my vagina and bottom and sometimes the odd one on my breast, but seem to have gotten worse in the past 8-12months. I need to know whether this can be treated, the scars made less visible or at least calmed down a little bit. But good to know im not alone. xx
