I'm 17 and I've been having regular sexual intercorse for almost a year and I have never bled. Sex is never painful for me. Is this normal or has my hymen not broken yet, or has it broken without me realising?

Hi , a few months ago I developed itchy arm pits , I have been looking it up but I have no rash or spots or any broken skin. I have been using Mitchum for years now and was wondering if I have blocked the sweat glands . I've since tried using different deodorants but it continues to happen where the deodrant meets the skin outside the arm pit . It is driving me mad,, I've read to use vinegar ? What do you think I should do . Thank you Lisa x please help !!!!

My mother has a varicous vein that has broken through the skin. It is a red lump and bleeds, so a dressing has to be worn at all times. This has been since Oct 09 and we have made many visits to the Doctors surgery but we are no further forward. Is there anything we can do?

Lauren, have a chat to specialists in this field.. Start with a Doctor see why it is the way it is and not a condition elsewhere.. Blood flow ect.... Then ask him about specialist that deal with this cosmetically once you know medically you are ok...Also, try using Pharmacies for advice for cover ups creams.. I use a non greasy bronzer on my legs as I have spiders all over one leg..and that works a treat for me, so much so I am contented with that level pro activeness..

I've had LP for 14 years. It first began all over like a rash. After a year it faded but remained on my left leg, feet and wrist. I never wear shorts or opened toed shoes. About one month ago, it began to appear in my genital area :-( I'm so heart broken and ready to just give up. I'm tired of crying and feeling like less of a person. None of the creams have helped. The only thing that seemed to work for a while was sun bathing. Eventually that stopped working too. I ate only vegetable and fruit for 1 month and it lessened but not significantly. Broken and depressed in Tx.

I have had an severe itching of my vagina lips after a month of having the Marena coil fitted. I assumed the coil was causing the problem, but after I had it removed, the itch remained. I have had this now for 2 years and is driving me insane. Its an uncontrollable itch that has me scratching until I wear away the skin and small bleeds appear through the broken skin. My GP has sent me for tests , all sorts of creams and potions but nothing works. The itching is all through the day and night causing me to lose sleep. can anyine shed any light on what could be causing it ? thanks.

Since you have already seen the two specialties of urology and dermatology and you aren't getting any better, then it sounds like you need ultra-specialized services, such as you might find in a university school of medicine, but not just any old university school of medicine. I would suggest that you research the various schools of medicine or research centers in your country and talk to specialists in these two fields to see which university school of medicine or research center is held in the highest esteem among colleagues.

I am 28 and I have suffered with excess hair growth for the past 7 years. Leading up to this i put on quite alot of weight after having a pill injection. Could this be the cause of my hair growth? I find it really had to lose weight but if i did, could it help? It gets me down every day and i am finding myself digging hairs out with the tweezers before they have even broken the skin, consiquently causing scars. Please help.

Hello Sophia, thank you for your question. When doctors talk about a hymen they mean a very thin layer of skin which covers the entrance of your vagina next to your skin. In some people it goes all the way across and in others it goes round just the edge. In many girls this is split or broken during an active childhood (horse-riding, athletics) and is nothing to worry about. Once it has broken it gradually disappears. The hymen is definitely broken whenever anything is inserted into the vagina (penis, dildo, finger), so when I read that you can feel something high up in your vagina near your cervix (at the top of the vagina) I think that probably isn't your hymen because I understand you must have your fingers inside. If you are worried about any new lump or bump in your vagina, whether near the outside or high up inside please go and get it checked out to rule out anything serious. If not serious, there are a few things is could be (polyp, wart, erosion) which are all easily treated, but best treated ASAP.

I have broken skill under my foreskin and on the head of the penis which has gone like a yellowy colour, I've kept it clean and dry until I had the time to properly sort it but now I am getting worried, the broken skin is making it painful when I urinate. Hi I am a 31 yr old woman with a career in marketing. My teeth are rotting at the gum line and from the back side of my teeth. My molars and wisdom teeth are all broken and some have broken down so far the gum now covers what is left. I have a lot of mouth pain because of these issues. I am also feeling self conscience about smiling which I used to do a lot more of . I also have a broken tooth in front from falling when I was about 13 that has never been addressed and is now turning what looks like a light blue color. :( I do not know really what the root cause of this happening is. As a child we were not made to brush so I was in my early teens before I cared enough to do it. I have not been to a dentist since I was maybe 9? I just purchased insurance and will be going but I am afraid of what I may hear. Any advice would appreciated very much!!!

You may already know this, but in you actually have some thin tissue called a "hymen", around there, (sorry, forgot the name of the area) and it will usually break the first time you have sex, or even jump over a fence. It's hard to put in a tampon if your hymen has not been broken. That may not be your problem, but I hope this can help you out anyways! (you can tell if your hymen was broken if you had a small spot of blood in your underwear, but a lot smaller and brighter red than your period)

hi if you used tampons early age like 12 when you started your period then it might of broken in then some girls don't bleed because of using tampons if you get me lucky really as you don't have pain of breaking in you have iver allreaddy broken in by use tampons or your just lucky i hope this helps

I suffer from blushing which I find really embarrassing.....the more I think about it the worse it gets even when im not really embarrassed. I now have a few broken capillaries on my cheeks due to years of flushing. I recentley went to the doctor and was told I have rosacea. I have opted for a course of IPL treatments to tone down the redness in my cheeks and get rid of the broken veins. After having 2 treatments so far I can definately see an improvement and would recommend it.

From this site: www.male-initiation.net/ SKIN BRIDGES If the infant epithelial adhesions are broken and the sticky skin surfaces are allowed to rest in contact with each other again, they can fuse together causing small connecting strings or bands of skin tissue between the foreskin and the glans: Skin bridges usually occur singly among uncircumcised boys, however they are typically associated with circumcised boys when the healing process is not supervised, here they form in groups between the circumcision scar and the glans. Depending on where they are, they are sometimes painful and/or restrict a full erection. They can be treated with a very simple division.

For the last 2 comments. Please ask your GP to check you out for Lichen Schlerosus. Some women have it for years before diagnosis and are often treated for thrush and other conditions. Firstly to Daisy2132 - stop using any kind of soap in the vulval area as this will irritate it more. Water is perfectly fine to cleanse the area. Also to elmarie, yours definitely sounds like lichen schlerosis as it starts as an itch and then can split and be painful. One way to check yourself before going to the doctor is to do a self examination and see if the vulva looks whitish and thinner than normal. It can also look really red when it is inflammed. Once it is diagnosed, they will prescribe cortisone ointment to use to keep it at bay. Good luck.
