Hi, my mum who is non smoker, aged 58 and she started with fungal nail as GP said and then spread out every toes. She also said sometime itchy and burning sensation. When that happen, she puts her foot in warm water and felt better. We have tried as much as I could think of to cure it from the local pharmacy, recommended cream but no major improvement. Now she has no nail left on any of her toes and very sensitive. Sometime hurt to walk around and bleed easily. Nails have not grown back for nearly 6 months. Could someone help me please? I don't know what to do. Thank you in advance.

I have had my bones in my toes (next to big toe) pinned a few times to straighten them when I was younger which failed to work leaving the toes still overlapping. Every year especially during the summer months I suffer with my toes constantly rubbing causing blisters. Is it possibly to get toes removed privately and still have full function ie walking running?? Rob

I have the same problem as well

My feet sweat a lot even without socks on an they get really red and swollen which sometimes stops me from walking around, my toes peel as a result because they crack and the dead skin peels, the side of my toe nails are yellow looking and you can pull the side of my toe an get a nail file down the side of my toes on both big toes Which results in my sock 'fluff' getting trapped down there and putting more pressure on my toes.

I had chilblains about five years ago on my toes. But after that winter they stopped itching. My toes are still swollen and red from the chilblains, they don't itch or hurt like chilblains anymore but they look horrible. One or two of my toes are twice the size that they were before, is there anything I can do to make my toes normal size?

Been reading about Raynauds Syndrome after seeing the show Friday 26 Mar, and relating some of the symptoms to myslef. What I would like to know is after my fingers and toes go cold and white/blue, they then go red and feel like they are burning, and go very numb in most cases, this is more apparent on my fingers as my feet are in socks and footwear. As they warm up they tingle really strongly and sometimes feel like they are burning again as they do when they get cold. This happens most mornings during the cold months. Is this Raynauds? or something else?

My big toes are bent towards my other toes and sometimes can be quite sore when wearing shoes. I never show my feet as I find them really embarrassing, I am sick of having to hide my feet and would like to wear sandals some day. I was wondering if there was any type of surgery to straighten my toes or is there anything I can do?

Can you help me please? I have really horrible feet. My toes are very long, my 2nd toe is bigger than the first and my 3rd is even bigger than the 2nd. I'm a 25 year old woman and never ever show my feet in public. I find that my feet pain when wearing shoes as my toes do not form the right shape for them. It's horrendous in summer as it is so hot and I have to wear shoes that cover my feet completely. Is there anything that can be done? Can this be corrected so my toes are the normal size?

Every now and again (especially after a run) the bottom of my feet and my toes go a dark purple. Also, at different times, my toes go completely white, with no capillary refill and feel really cold. Sometimes I can help this second issue by using a vibrating massager on my thigh, but often I cannot restore blood low or heat to my toes for hours on end. I am concerned that this will eventually cause some kind of necrosis to my toes. what can I do, if anything?

i have very itchy feet. ive had this for so long that it's not only my toes but the soles of my feet that are itching. the itching is so intense, athletes foot sprays cream cannot treat it, and scratching to the point of burning my feet is the only way to stop the itching. unfortunately, they have undergone so much abuse that they are red, and my toes become very stuff and i crack them. is this an interior infection or diabetes? the nerves in my feet are very receptive and when i scratch them i also feel other areas of my body need to crack because of stiffness.

I have just turned 20 years old and since i was about 13 or so i have had a fungal nail infection on both of my big toes and also a little bit on the toes next to them too. The two big toes are yellowish in colour and look like they are growing on top of each other rather than growing up the way they are also very hard and i find it very difficult to cut them too. The toes next to the big toes are just really thick and slightly over lapping and a little bit darker too but not as bad as the big toes. I have been to the doctors a few times and one even told me that it was something that happens to some peoples nails and that i just have to deal with it basically. I am planning on going on holiday next year to spain with my daughter and fiance and would love to be able to wear flip flops and walk on the beach bare foot as the last time i was on holiday in spain i was too embarrassed to do so because of my nails. Seems like i will just have to keep on going back to the doctors and explaining everything to them and hoping someone will be able to help me

Im 15 and I've had bunions since I was about 11 or 12 I would like to wear sandlas to school but I'm afraid the other kids will make fun of me. But wearing closed shoes just makes it hurt worst, bad part is you can see it through my socks. No one will give me surgery at my age but I really need it, its painful, embarrassing, and ugly. I've tried at home methods but they don't seem to work.

I suffer from the same thing. My toes are so unsightly, I won't even let my boyfriend see my feet, it's that bad! I am 40 and seem to remember having ugly toes all of my life. I think the condition is called either hammer toe or claw toe. I dread summer, because I cannot wear pretty sandals or even flip flops. If I could afford surgery to fix my toes, I would definitely go for it.

I get really itchy inbetween my toes, particularly at night (as someone else said above just about you're about to go to sleep!) I try to wash & dry them thoroughly but even just drying inbetween the toes starts off a major ithing/scratching session!! It's mostly between the toes (sometimes ust underneath too), not white like the pic on the site tho - Is this athlete's foot?!

I am a elderly gent who has been suffering from fungi on my toes, especially the big toe.My Dr said there was no cure but I have used a well known mouthwash which kills bacteria and it worked for me.I treated them by soaking toes in a bowl covering the toes with Listerine and soaked for 15mins each foot. Then a few days later I repeated the process and I now have healthy nails.

Same exact situation for me, my skates are getting too small and i got new ones but i can't wear them yet since it's competition season and i haven't gotten to break them in. The bottoms of my left and right big toes are peeling and flaky. The top of my left big toe and my right first 3 toes (right below the nail area) are red and a but swillen and itchy and they hurt. I hope i figure out what it is :(

my big toes are growing round in a kind of 'C' shape and I struggle to find shoes that don't press on my toes and I am in intense pain if someone or something catches or stands on them I have been to my GP an he says that it is hard skin growing under my nail an prescribed 'dermol 500' and rub it in to my toes as and when required so i have been doing it twice a day for over 18months an there has been no change in my nails. please can someone get back to me with a possible solution :-(

I am 43 1/2 years old, I started periods when I was 10 years old, always irregular untill my late 20's. For a long time now have had a cycle of between 28 and 34 days. My last period came at 32 days and totally cleared by day 8. On day 14 I started to lose some bright red fresh blood, although not lots but was tiny bits of red blood washed into the toilet when urinating. I am very panicked about this as I have never ever had any blood between periods before and I am worried I have something awful going on. Lately I have also experienced some lightheaded sensations with a racing heart beat and a feeling of panic , however it happens at any time and is not a panic attack and I feel relaxed when it happens. I also have some weird muscle spasms , almost like it might go to a full blown cramp but doesnt, this happens in my calves and in my big toes...my toes actually pull back on their own...which is odd. I get some headaches the last one started with a burning neck and face but no sweating. The burning passed and just left with a headache behind the eyes. My GP has taken bloods for glucose, thyroid, FSH, CA125, full blood count, liver and renal function, hormone levels and more that I can't remember. I am awaiting these results. In the meantime I am desperately worried, does anyone have similar symptoms and is a similar age please?

Hi, i am 43 also. For approx a year now i have been suffering on and off with symptoms very similar to yourself. However since December i have been suffering from terrible palpittions, shortness of breath and dizzy spells! Im not sure if im emotiional with the anxiety and worry, or my sudden bouts of crying are due to a hormone imbalance! I too am going to have my bloods done tomorrow and would love some answers. Altho i went thru the same procedure last year sometime without any findings! I have many other symptoms from shooting pains in various parts of my body to quite severe headaches and tightening across the front of my head! My latest symptom is palpitations at rest, somtimes actually waking me up. I often wake up with my heart racing feeling very panicky, lately accompanied by a bad dream. For the record, i am the eternal optimist, have never suffered from depression or mood swings. Unfortunately i do not feel like that person right now. I am going to look into homeopathy and maybe reiki or something similar. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice on this?. Def need to start taking reg exercise too.

Hi I am nearly 45 years old and have been on the depo injection for 9 years. I came off in last December and virtually since then I have been having awful symptoms which I believe I can be perimenipausal. My GP has done blood tests and hormone tests which have come back fine. I have been suffering from extreme tierdness, my hair has gone all dry and has been breaking off, I have different pains in my body everyday but the worst thing is a fast pounding heart rate especially when it wakes me at night. It can last from minutes to an hour and is horrible. I also seem to be worse after eating. I'm getting to the stage that I dont want to go to sleep incase it happens again. I am normally a calm person who has never suffered with depression but I feel now like I am losing control.

Ive had chilblains for years although they get better during summer but my toes are always swollen and purple blueish colour they look horrible. I hate my toes. Chilblains have left scars on them and i dont like to show them and its really frustrating when i see a pair of sandals and i want to buy them but i know theyl look horrible cz of my toes :(

Hi, I know it's very frustrating and very sore! Mine sound very similar and it's hard when they get so bad to find something that works! I find deep heat works if they're not too bad but (I know this sounds strange) the best thing I found to work was a raw onion. Cut a piece of onion and rub it all over your toes/chilblaines, even leave it between ur toes overnight with a sock (I know it sounds gross)but there should be a big difference the next day (try it for about 3 days)! I think the bluish colour is bad circulation. It just means we have to wrap up and wear layers to look after our little tootsies :) hope this helps a little

They get really itchy when my feet are too hot or too cold. I normally get cream for itching but then as i said my toes are blueish. They are discoloured compared to the rest of my feet. My toes look someone elses and my feet look someone elses lol theyr back again cz of the cold. Its normally in the evening when they start to itch :((

I previously had a staff infection in my right foot and since then my foot especially in between my toes is so itchy I can't resist and have to scratch. I dry between my toes everyday but my foot gets so warm and sweaty from my work boots it doesn't seem to clear up. I've tried creams and tablets and nothing seems to be helping. In between my toes have cracked and the softer skin peels away. It also becomes really painful.

Can you elaborate more? *What sort of work boots do you wear *Staff infection? whats that

I had ingrown toe nails on both of my big toes. I did nothing. Both of my big toes became infected and they were disgusting. I can't actually believe I let them get that bad. Finally I went to the doctors and I got both my big toe nails removed and also the nail bed was removed so that the nails didn't grow back. My toes are very much back to normal minus my toe nails. I have read some comments on here with people with the same or similiar conditions. PLEASE GO AND SEE A DOCTOR!!!!!! I can't stress this enough. Having my toe nails removed was the best course of action. Please don't ignore any symptons. I think if I didn't do anything with my toes, my guess is I could have lost them or made myself very ill.
