I have had to take laxatives to go to the toilet. This has been going on for a year now and it concerns me. I also suffer with flatulance and burping. I have had rectal examinations including the camera and a protogram. I just need to know if taking laxatives for this period of time is ok or not? thanks
I’m a 29 year old female who has been suffering from excessive burping and flatulence for a few years now. I also suffer from constipation and diarrhoea. Could this be a classic case of IBS? Is it worth visiting a Doctor if it is or should I just try cutting out certain foods to see if that resolves my problem. I’m not really sure what the best course of action is. Please advise.

Hi I too keep getting Oral Throat Thrush, this is linked with your immune system, try looking at foods thats boost your immune system, like turkey and blueberries. I have had this since Januray this year and all medicines and still i have this uncomfortable feeling, sore throat with the white fur on the tongue, i would recommend keep on at your doctors, there is plenty of information about this condition on the web, good luck! sally

Hi I’m 19 years old and have been suffering for the past 8 years. I have been tested for coeliac disease, Gall bladder problems and IBS; however after numerous tests they have all come back negative. My symptoms include extreme tiredness, sickness and nausea, abdominal pains, sore gums, headaches and severe diarrhoea and burping. My doctors have sent me to surgeons and specialists and none of them have helped me, if you have any idea what is wrong with me please comment.
Have u had a coeliac screening test ie blood test done coz I had them symptoms turned out I had coeliac
I have been burping consistently for the past couple of months. Last month I was admitted at the hospital after numerous visit to my GP after prescribed medications failed to address the problem. Whilst in hospital various investigations were carried out to diagnose the cause of this condition, including cheat/stomach X-ray and endoscopy. However, thank God I was given all clear as nothing was found that could be the underlining cause. Currently I feel isolated because I can't hold longer communications with my loved ones and it is deeply affecting my social life. I will deeply appreciate all your support/help. Many Thanks
Sarah, For the record, I have been suffering with this, including some bloating/distension, and allegedly associated with IBS, spastic or lazy colon and other gastric problems for about 2 decades now and it is not getting any better, in fact I would say worse. DESPITE some tests, (gastric emptying, x-ray, barium meal, endoscopy), there appears to be no answer from the medical profession, in fact one senior medical practitioners wrote and suggested I was suffering from MUPS - Medically Unexplained Symptoms, which causes me to challenge the training and knowledge of some in the medical profession. In the meantime I have also been prescribed pills like Lansoprazole and the others without success, pills to encourage food process like Domperidone, Metaclopromide without success. Most of these problems arose after gall bladder removal which, allegedly, was not necessary. Other practitioners suggest in some cases it has something to do with yeast that causes increased fermentation within the system leading to over-production of gas. BUT, no answer how to deal with it!!
Hi, I'm a 21 year old male. I have had a very strange sensation in the back of my throat now for at least four months. It feels like a lump in the back of my throat, as if theres some sort of obstruction. It doesn't go away even if I drink plenty. It doesn't affect my swallowing when eating or drinking. It is not painful, it is just very uncomfortable from the minute I go to bed till the minute I wake up. There is definitely something there. I have been to several doctors and unfortunately, I don't even get one straight diagnosis, I must have had about four different diagnoses!! I am very worried that this is something serious as time has gone on and its still persisting. My other symtoms include a dry/ mild cough that comes and goes and also burping more often. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you.
Recently I have been doing the slim fast diet ( 1 milkshake in the morning and lunch diet and a healthy dinner) But, after a few days it was making me feel really sick. So I tried to stick to a healthy balanced diet..but for the last few days my stomach is really hurting and feels bloated and when I press deep it is like sharp pains and I have wind (burping a lot like I have drank several cans of coca cola) although I have just been drinking water... And my last 4 stools have been a deep red/black colour- can any help me? Or shall I report my symptoms to a doctor? Rebecca
