I've had tonsillitis for 5 days now and have started coughing up mucus with blood in it. It can get worse at night when I'm lying down. Is this normal?!
I had this and the Drs sent me for a chest x ray which came back clear. When i saw a further Dr after things didn't get better and they said it was blood from the tonsil infection.
Hi, that is not normal and i think it would be a good idea if you when and see a doter about it

My husband keeps coughing and clearing his throat also what I can only describe as kind off belching this is constant .And when gets excited when talking seems his voice dries up but seem to need to smoke a cig to calm down. Need to say he smokes one after another he is in is 60s . I am worried the has cancer of the throat or other.
Hi I have tonsils that look exactly like that. They cause snoring, bad breath and I get tonsillitis around 2 times a year. Id love to have them taken out but I know of 3 people who have had this done and had serious problems. They went home and a few days later started coughing up lots and lots of blood and had to be taken back into hospital. Is this common? And is there anyway to avoid this? Thanks
hi, I've had a couch for 10 weeks now and have tonsillitis for the second time in a month having never had any problems before. I have had a chest x-Ray and all is fine as well as a nasal endoscopy which was also fine. I know people have much worse that this but it's driving me crazy, I can't exercise, laugh or talk for too long without having a coughing fit. The Drs keep saying it will clear up but there must be something wrong, I never get sick. Does anyone have any advise?
My daughter is now 3 and a half. She suffered with her first bout of tonsillitis in january and her tonsils have been swollen ever since. She has needed antibiotics 4 more times but has had viral tonsillitis every few weeks also. She is now suffering with sleep apnoe and swallowing difficulties sometimes coughing and even vomiting when eating. She was referred to the specialist but they say they will not see her as still not severe enough. Don't know what else i can do?
Hope she gets better
Hi I have had what I thought was an on going cold for 4months now. I went to my gp and was told I had an allergy, I was given because nasal spray but did nothing, since then I have been back and seen a different gp and he advised a higher dose but I have already tried this and now I'm on avamys which I have only just started. I seem to be worse when at work (I'm a beauty therapist) but I'm constantly sniffling, sneezing, chesty, coughing etc , all my gps seem to be doing is just giving me different drugs to trial rather than looking at the problem. What else can I do and Is this even an allergy?
