Hi I have tonsils that look exactly like that. They cause snoring, bad breath and I get tonsillitis around 2 times a year. Id love to have them taken out but I know of 3 people who have had this done and had serious problems. They went home and a few days later started coughing up lots and lots of blood and had to be taken back into hospital. Is this common? And is there anyway to avoid this? Thanks

hi, I've had a couch for 10 weeks now and have tonsillitis for the second time in a month having never had any problems before. I have had a chest x-Ray and all is fine as well as a nasal endoscopy which was also fine. I know people have much worse that this but it's driving me crazy, I can't exercise, laugh or talk for too long without having a coughing fit. The Drs keep saying it will clear up but there must be something wrong, I never get sick. Does anyone have any advise?

Hi I have had what I thought was an on going cold for 4months now. I went to my gp and was told I had an allergy, I was given because nasal spray but did nothing, since then I have been back and seen a different gp and he advised a higher dose but I have already tried this and now I'm on avamys which I have only just started. I seem to be worse when at work (I'm a beauty therapist) but I'm constantly sniffling, sneezing, chesty, coughing etc , all my gps seem to be doing is just giving me different drugs to trial rather than looking at the problem. What else can I do and Is this even an allergy?

2 years I was coughing & sneezing a lot! Went through all the med doctors gave. I even tried homeopathic with no success. Then I remembered that several years ago I had the same chronic coughing. During my break at work I use sleep on a couch & wake up with severe coughing, I stopped sleeping on it as it was covered with dust mites. 2 years ago It happened again, went through extensive tests with no results, it is then I remembered the sette with mites! I immediately replaced all my beddings & the sette (not made of material). Chants to wooden floors! My coughing & sneezing is gone! Please try it, it could be this! Now I replace my pillows & quilt every 3 months. Hope this helps!

I was diagnosed with asthma age 7, I've always had a very persistent cough since I'm now 17. I'm always taking time off work for have cheat infections and colds, the longest I've been with out being slightly ill is a week, no exaggeration. My skin has a salty taste. I am always producing a lot mucus, it often comes out when I'm coughing or being sick. I'm in constant agony from coughing I've torn muscles in my chest and my back aches a lot of the time. I'm in hospital at least every 6 months, could I have been wrongly diagnosed with asthma?

Hi I was diagnosed with asthma last year and have a lot of nasal problems and cough it up I t could be the case for both of us for the wrong digonosis

For the past 7 weeks, I have been waking up with a dry mouth, that feels like sandpaper. In the past week I have had a sore throat that is producing a lot of mucas, and in the last four days, I have had a pain in my ear that either feels like I have something in it/or like my ear popping kind of pain. However the ear pain lasts for about 5-10 mins at a time, comes and goes, esp if I put my finger in my ear. For about a month I was coughing at least twice a day and pains in my throat. I had a coughing fit one day about 2 weeks ago, an must have dislodged something, as I have stopped coughing since. I have been the doctor twice ( last one 2 weeks ago). First doctor said its because Im snoring in bed with my mouth open. Second doctor said after I told her I think I dislodged something, that I should keep watch of it and to come back in a month if the throat hasnt heeled. Im no longer getting pain in my throat, just ears and back of mouth that feels like a stingy pain. I can swallow ok and there is no lumps. Should I be worried?

I have been ill since the Tuesday before the Royal Wedding. Initially started with a sore throat, then started coughing and felt lethargic. Had antibiotics - Doxycycline. Didn't clear up. I lost my voice about 2 days in and it didn't come back for almost 6 weeks, by which time I was given a second dose of antibiotics - Trimethoprim. Finally got my voice back, but still, any exertion, even making the bed, sets off coughing and throat is still sore. Third dose of antibiotics given - Clarythromycin. Finished these 2 days ago, no change at all. Feel very fed up, and throat constantly feels as though I have something stuck in it, especially at the left hand side. Please help???

My husband has been coughing up lumps from his throat for about 2 years now. They are very unpleasant and causes his a lot of embarrasment. He has been to the doctors but they were unable to find a cause and a chest X-ray came back clear. I would appreciate it if any one had an idea as to what it may be.

it sounds like he has tonsillar plugs or stones, which are solid lumps of matter that form in the crypts/holes of the tonsils. the crypts have some white blood cells and bacteria that should normally drain away. but in some cases when a person tends to have a lot of throat issues and sicknesses like allergies, the drainage is inhibited and the plugs form. the plugs are sort of gagged or coughed up and they tend to be quite foul smelling. they can contribute to bad breath as well. gargling with salt water is the first line of defense.

i seem 2 have the same symptoms as you, only i'm 18 and have no children.. Its very embarrassing especially when i laugh because i waitin on it happening and its like i'm emptying my whole bladder not a little bit. HELP!!!

I had exactly the same after my 3rd, and last, child (may 2009). I had tvt surgery in December '10 and that particular problem is fixed. Stress incontinence is what you have. I still have other problems (cystocele, rectocele and newly diagnosed rectal prolapse, but honestly the tvt surgery has cured my stress incontinence. Definitely worth considering! Hope all goes well for you.

Im 24 and my doctor wont take mine out. I get tonsilitis a lot. But this time i have been coughing up quite hard mounds (about the size of a pea) of white smelly stuff. Is this the puss in the craters of my tonsils? It is absolutely knocking me sick.

Im 24 and my doctor wont take mine out. I get tonsilitis a lot. But this time i have been coughing up quite hard mounds (about the size of a pea) of white smelly stuff. Is this the puss in the craters of my tonsils? It is absolutely knocking me sick.

I have been suffering with bb for about 10 years now. After going to every medical doctor and naturpath there is i finally had to figure it out on my own. First realized i had LPR which is silent reflux. The silent reflux caused post nasal drip, constant throat clearing, coughing when i ate but no heart burn. So i identified all the foods that caused this which were dairy, gluten, dried nuts, grapes, tomatoes, shrimp etc. so i cut those foods out and sure enough the post nasal drip and coughing and some of the bb went away. Still determined to figure this out i looked at all the foods that were causing this and they all had one thing in common, The preservative SULFITE. It caused some type of reaction in my gut that made me exhale some type of poo, rotten egg horrid smell. Sulfite is found in some toothpaste, mouthwashes, perfumes and other cosmetics, dried fruit, sodas, a lot of restaurant foods, boxed pastas, baked goods etc. i could never list them all so you can do your own research. When i started reading lables and staying away from sulfites and they come under many different names but contain the word sulfites my bb went away unless i again ate something containing sulfites. Hope this helps someone and best wishes.
