I'm 17 and I have inverted nipples and lately my left side has become really itchy (sometimes lined with dry crusty skin even if i use lotion) and sometimes numb, sometimes extending to by whole boob... is that an ok thing to happen?? I'm not in a position to go see a doctor so if anyone can shed any light I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Hey Really really don't worry! I was the same and i didn't start till i was 16 and a half! just don't think about it, even low levels of stress might delay it. It could be because you are skinny like I was, even though i wasn't majorly underweight. At least it gives you an excuse to enjoy that extra donought ! (people often don't start until they have a certain amount of fat)

My vagina kind of gets very crusty and I don't like washing much (a personal problem we have been working on). I started my first period this time last month and it hasn't arrived yet and my vagina isn't really very crusty, what should I do? I'm 13 and don't want to tell my dad (single parent.)

Wash the outside parts daily with mild soap and warm water. It is very important to keep clean. Better to shower, and do that at there. You don't need to wash the inside, the body does this naturally. Sometimes your second period won't come right away like expected. It may not become regular right away. If your dad is a single parent, then you will need him to get you pads or tampons. There are directions, but if you need help, you can talk to him, he had a child and knows more about women than you may realize. If not, seek out a female you trust, a guidance counsellor, school nurse, social worker, even go to a clinic or doctor just to discuss what is normal. If you don't want to away what you're doing say, "I need to see a female doctor, to discuss feminine health"

I have a soreness and itching right at the top of my vulva, around where the lips meet. I have just checked it and there are flaky bits of dry crusty skin coming off and the sores are red and bleeding a little (probably due to so much scratching!) I don't think it can be an STD, as I only have one partner and he is fine. HELP!?!

Hey Guys. I Was Wondering If You Could Help Me Out? I Have Noticed A Raised, Crusty And Itchy Lump On My Left Arm. 2 Weeks After I Noticed This, I Have Had "Chicken Pox" Like Itchy Lumps All Over My Body. Mainly On My Back And Legs. It Looks Scarily Like Skin Cancer To Me. And I Have Reason To Believe It May Be As I Was Badly Burnt Abroad 4 Years Ago. I've Been To The Dr's But He Says Its A Fungal Infection Of The Skin From Working With Animals. Any Ideas? x

My DSAP showed up all of a sudden, also; around Thanksgiving last year. However, the itchy bump that was biopsied, showed Contact Dermatitis. A Skin-Patch test was done, and I am allergic to a lot of things, that are in almost everything. As I stay away from my allergens, the itchy red spots are fewer, and come and go according to what allergens I eat or come in contact with. I still had a few crusty spots, and the circles, that itch quite often. Yesterday the Dermatologist told me those were not connected to my allergies, that they are the DSAP from my past sun exposure (I am 69), and there is no cure. Actually the Stasis Dermatitis that has been on my ankles for years, like my Father's, might actually be some of the DSAP as well, according to the photos.... just not crusty yet. Anyway, just in case that some of your bumps might be from allergies, wouldn't hurt for you to have a Patch-test done; it might end up narrowing the number of itchy spots down to a fewer number. Good luck.

Hi im a 45yo male i have a small mole on my back it is a little crusty and it looks raised... I do sunbeds and i just got back from spain and only used a factor 4 oil and lay in the sun for 6 hours a day.it gets itchy at times. Could this be skin cancer?? ......

I know how you feel its not nice, when the skin starts to go dry try pure lavender oil, it might not smell nice but it does make the skin smooth again. make sure there are no open sores as it stings a lot. or you could try bicarbonate of soda mix it up like a paste let it dry and wash of, this has helped me, hope it helps you.

i know how you feel , i am also 14 and have had eczema all of my life. i get infections alot and am on anti biotics alot. it is on my head legs hands arms face back and chest , it is raw weepy and very deep. i am in pain constantly and feel like i have nobody to turn to i have also like you been bullied so badly that i have had to change schools, a lady even commented on it in tesco yesturday saying 'yuck!'. i feel depressed and cry my self to sleep every night. its good to know you are not the only one . molly

I have mole under my bra strap under my right arm. It has always been raised like a skin tag with a brown mole head for the last 2 years, it has never grown bigger, but after watching your programme about moles, i have checked the colour and i have notice a tiny dot of the edge of it is paler than the rest?? It is also slightly crusty, but i thought that might be abrasion from my bra. Is it only when the mole gets darker that i should be concerned?

About 8 years ago when I was still in my teens I had a typical acne spot on my forhead which i picked (I know I shouldn't have) but once the skin was broken it got infected and the area became inflamed and a dark horrible patch of dry crusty skin formed and began to spread. The two diagnosis' of what I had at the time were 1) impetigo and 2) cellulitis. From reading about the characteristics of both these conditions it definately sounds like cellulitis related a lot more closely to what I had but still I was never definitively diagnosed. Years later in my twenties i'm satisfied that the original infection I suffered has now long gone, however the area of skin originally affected is still a lot darker than the rest of the skin on my face and I find it horrible to look at. Can anyone recommend any kind of process, medication, treatment that I can obtain in order to get rid of this discolouration/mark on my face, or at least speed up the rate of it fading away. I'm starting to become desperate and will listen to any and all suggestions offered.
