I go to the toilet and I find my pants wet or damp. Occasionally I find this white goey stuff smeared in my pants. My urine changes color all the time sometimes dark and sometimes light. When it's dark it gives me pains.

Yes, sweet smelling urine is a sign of diabetes, which is a serious condition. Knock off the beer and sweets and processed foods and get exercise each day till your doctor appointment comes. Then follow her advice! Diabetes is not to be taken lightly.

Hi i'm 21. 3weeks ago i had pyelonephritis. when i went to the doctor for follow up, the test showed that there was no bacteria and that the wbc in the urine had decreased considerably but then after 2 days i went back for the urine test and this time there was presence of bacteria in the urine plus an increase in the wbc in the urine. the doc said it's probably from a vaginal yeast infection since the culture test showed that presence of bacteria was clinically insignificant and that it commonly occurs after use of antibiotics. it's been three days now since i've taken the fluconazole pill for the yeast infection and i can still see that my urine is a bit cloudy and a bit oily with pointy things in it that look like small bubbles. so now i'm getting worried. does anyone have any idea if the urine is weird and may indicate another underlying problem???

While I understand all of the above (what's "good" colour, it's beneficial for diagnosing medical issues) I'm trying to find out WHY it's important to have pale urine. What are the specific negative EFFECTS of dark wee? Why is it bad?Specifically: - what is the physical/actual positive EFFECT of pale urine on the body? - what is the physical/actual negative EFFECT of dark urine on the body?

Dark urine could mean that your body needs more water which is important for keeping healthy whereas lighter colour urine means your drinking the right amount.

Dehydration usually does not cause cloudy urine, but dark colored urine — dark yellow, orange, amber or almost black, like tea. Here's a detailed list of symptoms of dehydration

Certain foods, fruits, drinks or sweets can cause it. Google through what your partner eats and drinks, example "Coffee dark urine?" and you will get answers. Medication can cause it aswell. Restrict the main fluid intake to water, cut right down on tea and coffee for a couple of days and see if it makes a difference. The body needs 3 litres of water a day, more in hot weather or exercise. Urine infection will cause it aswell, arrange a urine test, it will also reveal any invisible traces of blood, even small amounts will darken the urine colour.

Hi there my partner's urine is very ofter dark yellow, almost orange colour, even though he drinks a lot of fluids during the day (water, coffee, tea, etc.). We try to live a healthy lifestyle and exercise often. What could be the reason why his urine colour is as is? Tkank you for considering my email

I actually get green pee after I take my multivitamin. It's like a light neon green, not anything dark. I drink a ton of water. Usually have clear urine. Brother has the dark, smelly kind.

I am a female 23 years, sexually active. I have had a urine infection now for 4 month, I want to pass urine much more frequently and when Ido it hurts, sometimes I can hardly control it, once I feel like I need to wee I have to literally run to the toilet. I wake up like 3 times during night, my urine stinks like hell and its dark yellow with white particles in it. I feel dehydrated all the time, and I have to carry my bottle of water with me all the time. I have seen 5 doctors so far, I keep taking antibiotic and during the course it's gone, but 2 days after I finish it I can start noticing the symptoms again. Antibiotics don't seem to work, even last time I took a 10 days course. I really don't know what to do next,I am constantly tired because of my disturbed sleep. I can hardly work, because my work involves long appointments and I can't control my urine. Helpppppp.

White particles in the urine may indicate kidney stones. Go and check it with your doctor. It's simple and all you have to do is to leave a urine test. Describe your symptoms to the doctor as clear as you can and then they will test your urine for several diseases.

I'm having the same problem. I had a section last March and since then I've had the problem of strong smelling urine and dark coloured urine. I've been on antibiotics for water infections for months and have now been put on perminant ones daily whilst it's investigated with tests. That helped for a while but every time I had a sample done they were still finding blood so things clearly are still not right. I'm on the injection and its also been since I started on that I've had problems so I might not have the next one to see if that helps.

Hello Doctors. I have been taking pain killing tablets for my back . I have a wedge fracture of my T8 vertabrae . I was told 23 years ago that it was not a good idea to have any surgery as there was a 70% chance I could become paralysed . This was an accident that happened to me while I was in the army. I have been on 30% disability pension from the MOD since then . The tablets I am now taking are Subsyde-CR (one per day ) and if I need a booster I take 1-3 Ultracet per day . Some days I do not need to take the booster. My questions are 1. Is Urine related as the colour at times is dark orange /brown . I do drink alot of water to flush my kidneys and sometimes my urine is of a normal colour , is it the tablets that are making my urine dark ? 2. is it now possible to have the wedge fracture fixed now that technology has moved on or is it better to keep taking the medication ? 3. I am not sure if this is age related or tablet related ? I am 52 years old and have up until about a year ago led a normal sex life with ejaculation , however , now my sex drive is nil and even if I do become aroused to the point of ejaculation, there is very little semen . Before I thought I was normal but now I only have 1/2 a teaspoon if that. Please advise , many thanks

hi. a few months ago i had a bad urine infection & it infected my left kidney, i kept burning up, always having headaches & shivering then I had this pain in my left side & my back & i went to the local walk in centre & i explained my problems & they got me to do a urine sample. My urine was very dark & groggy & the nurse got me the results. she prescribed me a strong dosage of antibiotics, they did give me bad side effects; feeling really sick. Anyway, a few weeks later i was better but still having pain so i went back to my doctor & she prescribed me a weaker dosage it seemed to have helped. & recently i've had a blood test done & a 3 urine sample because i'm still in pain, have urges to go for a wee, it sometimes can be painful, stings or irritating. the 2nd urine sample came back clear but that was before my 2nd course of antibiotics. i'm waiting on the results of the full blood test & urine sample but i'm still having the urges to go for a wee - the same as i've mentioned already & my side is very sensitive & sometimes i can be in agony but every now & again. Can anyone help me? i worry it could be kidney stones & it says on this page that kidney stones can develop when you've had a uti which is what i had:/ i'm only 18 though so..

I have exactly the same problem and I feel my gp's just aren't helping me at all-I also think the antibiotics are only gonna eventually not work anymore! I've had every test u can imagine-camaras put in places they should never go but gp says there's nothing wrong! It's awful I know but at least we know we aren't the only ones out there suffering!

I am writing this to try and help some of you girls (any maybe boys) out there. I used to suffer from really severe urine infections, they would come about almost every time I had sex or got really stressed. My urine would smell odd and become cloudy, I would have back ache, feel sick, be bloated, get diarrhoea and pass blood for about 3-6 days, but the worst things was the pain when I passed urine, sometimes I wanted to die it was so bad! And also the feeling of having to go all the time even when nothing was there to come out. sometimes I didn't get to the loo in time, so over those days I would have to call into work ill and not leave the house. Each time I went to the GP and they told me that from my sample it looked like an infection, there would be blood and puss in my urine, they always gave me antibiotics but when they sent my sample off for tests it always came back clear!!! I was advised to have a sexual health check to make sure that it wasnt anything biological or sexually transmitted and that all came back clear. They advised me to not over wash the area with perfumed soap and to ALWAYS have a wee straight after sex, it sounds simple but it made a massive difference! Another part of the cure came about by accident. Basically I have also always suffered from acne, and whilst on my pursuit for perfect skin I found a book called 'Clear Skin' by Karen Jessett, it tells you all about how taking the contraceptive pill can cause lots of other problems including urinary tract infections and actually make your skin worse too. It teaches you everything you need to know about how to use food to help reduce acne, such as not eating things like wheat or dairy and not drinking caffeine and alcohol. Since reading the book I have stopped taking the pill (I now use the rhythm method for contraception) and have changed my diet drastically. My urine infections are almost completely cured, now sometimes I get a twinge, but nothing like how it used to be. I now take cranberry tablets daily just to make sure my acidity levels are ok and I take Uva Ursi (bearberry) tablets, which can also be made into a tea (you can get both of these tablets from Holland and Barrett) I make sure that I drink at least 2 litres of water a day. I really hope that at least one thing from here helps you, I know how bad this problem can be, I used to think it was one of the worst illnesses in the world. Good luck x

My urine is dark and smells like eggs :(

Hi, I have recently had a chylamydia and gonorrhea test done which came back negative, although at the time of the testing I had a urine/kidney infection which I did not know I had. Will the urine/kidney infection interfere with the result of my chlamydia and gonorrhea test? Also I am having dark brown discharge but I am due on in a few days, will this have something to do with it? Thankyou very much

I am quite concerned about the dark colour of my urine immediately after I return from a run .I am a regular runner and drink water regularly on most medium to long runs . The colour of the urine is similar in colour to strong tea with a small amount of milk ie orangey /brown slightly cloudy. It returns to normal quickly. ie the second flush after I have been back a while is normal. It doesn't seem to be dehydration related. ??
