Hi im 20 and i have 42F size breasts. I have had these lumps on my breasts for about a year now. It starts off as an itch then turns in to a lump. It then pops and yellow puss comes out of it. After the puss comes out, dark blood comes out of it which then leaves a dipped hole followed by a scar. I am not sure if it is relevant but i am currently 17 and a half stone. I have also been to my doctors twice about this and they are not sure what it is. Please help me as i would like to get this sorted. Thank you, Samantha.

hi i have this too and its so embarrasing its getting warm and i wear polo neck tops, i was giving steroid cream which helped the scars abit but hasnt stopped the spots

I am an 18 year old girl. I had the nuss procedure on my chest 2 years ago. My chest is quite unusual because on set of ribs did not grow enough causing my sternum to twist up to 90 degrees. Due to crowding of my heart and lungs along with shortness of breath and chest pains, they actually used 2 bars rather than one to fix it. I can breath now and have no more pains, but one side of my chest is still noticeably more sunken in than the other. I'm wondering if there is any non surgical possibilities.

I have a similar case with both Pectuus Carinatum and Excavatum causing my sternum to twist as well so one side of my ribcage is raised while the other is sunken. I had one nuss bar around the age of 15/16 but it worsened it. I am not sure there are any non surgical ways around it. Now 21 I have chosen to have another surgery, similar to the Ratvich where cartilage and bone is removed and the sternum is twisted. As well as this I will be seeing a plastic surgeon after my surgery.

i have had severe chest pain now for several months, I have been on the heart monitor that was clear, i had chest xray of my chest wich showed two grey patches on my left lung, my doctor sent me for pysio on my chest wich made this pain worse i went back to him and he told me there was nothing more he could do and to basically go away and live with it i have had no pain relief from them what so ever is this normal?

I am a 36 year old male, who as a teenager suffered from this condition along with being labelled as intersex or a true hermaphrodite. I had surgery for my chest at a hospital in Southampton and they cocked up by taking too much away. I also had lumps in the breast as well, I have had more surgery on my chest since in Swansea. But there is no difference, I will only take my top off in my own back garden. I would love to be able to take my top off in public and to be able to go swimming. Please can you help to improve the look of my chest.

Don't worry! I also have very dark hairs all over my body and I know from past experience that t was probably not the best idea to shave that area, but you can still fix it! What you have to do now is, just wait for the hair to grow back out (should take between 3-9 days?), then just wax that area. Waxing, while not permanent, does pull out the hair from the root, while shaving just trims it down and leaves a little stub. The waxing takes the hair clean out and leaves you smooth and dot-less. Remember to put a soothing cream on the waxed skin afterwards so the area isn't irritated. Good luck :)

When i get sharp pains in my chest or when it feels like my right lung has popped i get a red itchy rash all over my chest what is it?

hi, I've got the same problem and just undergone surgery. I had the nuss procedure in september 2010 and becuase that failed i had the ravitch in january. Both operations were done on the NHS and you need to be referred by your GP to a thoratic surgeon. Some surgeons are better than others and its wise to find one that does both procedures and weigh up your options in your consultation.

Hi, how much did this cost and what was the outcome of the surgery ? Was it a success overall ? Were you off work for long ? Recovery time etc ?

In response to Gail, growing up I wasn't affected by it until I turned 15. I started getting chest pain around the costocondral region and sternum. I always noticed my dipped in chest but over the years it got deeper and deeper and my symptoms got worse. I also started to get back pain in the past 6 months. Yes very unusual for girls to have it I had comments whilst being in hospital that they never really get a female for this type of procedure. My advice is that only get it done if you are facing symptoms of pain. That's why I got it done. Personally I wouldn't have went through it solely on cosmetic reasons however saying that if you get the surgery younger then you heal quicker. My results from my op are fantastic! Faced a few complications getting infected and my wound reopening and having to get restitched but that was just by chance and rarely happens. Hope you get your niece sorted since her chest infections seem like they are in connection with pectus excavatum I would recommend a pectus repair. :)

Hi jamsine, I'm also a 17year old girl and I have also had a friend notice that my chest is slightly dipped in abnormal. Since then I have had a bit of some self esteem issues because of it, I also have a brother with a severe pectus excavating, which makes mine look like nothing. I seem to have short of breath while I run especially, I am a very athletic person but cross country running makes me the most out of breath. I also have had noticed that when I lay on my stomach/ribs it makes me very uncomfortable, cause it hurts. Have u or anybody else have similar stuff? I have just recently been searching up about this and I'm curious.

hello i had 2 moles removed on my face a couple months ago and i was told they would leave a minor scar smaller than than the moles that were already there! however this is not the case one of the moles is trying to grow back and i have a dipped scar in my face the size of the mole itself which has made me more self concious than i ever have been. The other mole is dipped again the size and shape of the mole itself and has stayed a red/brown colour that doesnt make me feel any better about my self what so ever i am very disapointed with my surgery ive hated them all my life i then manage to save some money to get them removed and im left with a result like this they are on my face and i cannot hide these they are cleary visable i just want to feel happy again and have some self esteem for once im now 19 and getting fed up of being insecure with the way i look? is there any way i can solve my problem i dont earn alot of money and im not sure if surgery would be the best option after the experience i have had so far. I would ppreciate it so much if anyone had any information or been through the same thing? Manyy thankss

Actually you can have boob jobs done that still allow you to breast feed

Thank you "Embarrassing Bodies". From a very young age my son asked why his chest dipped in unlike his brothers, he called it his "Ditch". "Everybody's different" we told him..."that is just the shape you are". By age 10 he was extremely self conscious and the ditch was becoming more pronounced. He was now employing tactics and behaviours to stay covered up and avoid showing his chest. My wife watched an episode of EB and realised he had Pectus Excavatum. I researched the condition and options available on the internet, followed by a visit to our GP. The first referral was a waste of time, the consultant did not seem aware of the corrective methods available. I persevered and accessed a data base of UK specialists narrowing down to consultants practicing the Nuss method (seems far less invasive than Ravitch)). Back to the GP armed with a name got me a referral to the right person at a west midlands hospital. Happily for us the whole process took only a few months. The operation to fit the Nuss Bar should not be underestimated....5 days hospital recovery and extreme discomfort....3 weeks home recovery and very uncomfortable....3 months before any physical exercises or sports. He coped with operation and recovery really well. The effect is immediate and his bar will stay in for 2-3 years. Four months on and we now have an 11 year old who is back playing sports, brimming with confidence and happy to show his new chest. There is no doubt in my mind of the positive educational effect of EB. In our case this enabled the identification and correction of a condition that was showing all the signs of adversely effecting our son's lifestyle into adulthood. EB - you have our most sincere thanks.

Stop drinking drinks ,beer even natural juice and just run 45min a day .....I myself had huge boobs on both upper and lower part of chest but my doctor advised me to eat vegetable and forget the sweets ..so I stopped eating lunch only ate breakfast and dinner which really made my chest fat lesser but when my lower chest fat was left I started a to play football as I'm good at it 2hrs each day plus my extreme diet made me loss by boobs especially by drinking green tea (jasmine,or any. Else) so I say it is not impossible to get rid of man breast as i had breast about 8cm in diameter I thought it can only be removed by surgery and I was very scared and most of the boys at school made fun of me last 2 years ago but know i have more muscular chest which Is straight just in 1yr 2mth...I hope u follow this advice .......by the way of you are going to gym start doing bench press up and push ups 30min a day will help your moobs to reduce.....all the best

Hi I had a bladder cystoscopy as well well actually I have had two! The first one I ha was when I was sixteen and I also had a biopsy taken too! I remember mine hurt for a few weeks after as well! It was a very sore/cystitis feeling! One thing I would recommend that has changed my life is cutting out all wheat from your diet! Now your doc will say its rubbish and one has nothing to do with the other which is a load of rubbish! Once you come off of wheat for a couple of weeks and if it's helping you should go and have electro dermal allergy testing it's none invasive and no needles are used! It's a really effective way of allergy testing! Another thing to do when you get a bad attack is to have a jug of warm water and pour it on your area down below as you go to the toilet it is very soothing! Hope this helps! I have suffered for over 10 years and I know exactly how you feel!! X bex xx

I am 22 and I have asymmetrical pectus excavatum which means that the dip in my chest is worse on the right side of my chest. I had the 'nuss procedure' when i was 18 which improved my chest slightly although not enough to say that i was satisfied. The procedure involves inserting a titanium bar into the chest and cranking it round to 'pop' the chest into place. The bar remains in the chest for about a year. Unfortunately mine harboured an infection and had to be removed with all results reversed. Following this i had Bio Alcamid inserted much like the fluid used in the video clip. The results were far better and although my chest isn't perfect it is far less noticeable. Contact your GP to be referred to a specialist. The younger you are the more likely you are to get results as the musculascelital parts of your body are more responsive to manipulation.

Hi, Unfortunately I have a lot of experience with ingrown hairs. I used to have them on my lower belly but hated it that much that I dipped into my savings to have IPL to get rid of them. I have really bad ingrown hairs on my bikini line and every day have to spend time trying to get them out before they form awful absesses. Is there anything the NHS will do? Or my GP?

I later used a teaspoon of sea salt and warm water and dipped a cotton swab into the mixture. My bump on my ear was gone in just a week. :)

hey there, i was late developing and i didn't get my 1st period until i was 16 and didn't really have much going on in the chest department either. i am now 20 and i have a rather large chest in less than 4 years.... enjoy having smaller chest, seriously... you have to carry them around all your life so make the most of not having them. i have serious stretch marks and pain in my back and neck and its very uncomfortable. i know what its like to be 15 and want a chest but just enjoy being a teenager and it will come when your ready :)
