I am a 20 year old female with thinning hair, no other health problems. I have never had thick hair but it has never been this thin, and my parents said my hair was much thicker when I was younger. I have tried sea kelp and hair skin and nail vitamins from Holland and barrett but they haven’t help I have also tried alpecin shampoo and it never worked. Is there anything I can do or take to re-grow my hair I am very self conscious about it and I am worried that my hair will keep thinning. Thanks

Hi, I am 21 and I have had a lot of hair loss of my head for a while and I have noticed my hair is a lot thinner than before and I think I can noticed my hair line thinning as well so am really worrying as do not want to go bold. I also have hair all over my body since puberty. Its not very long and thick, its short, fine hair but still noticeable and its everywhere. I haven't removed any body hair besides legs, arms and pubic areas as do not want it to get worse. I am currently having laser hair removal on my legs but not sure if it’ll work on others areas such as my stomach as is finer hair and I am Indian. Is there anything I can do? Should I consult with doctor and is there anything that can be done? Thank you

Hi Kiran. Typically men who have high levels of the hormone testosterone generally have quite a bit of body hair. Strangely enough, the same chemical responsible for hair growth on the body can also cause hair to thin on the top of the head. The reason for this is because (for reasons still unknown to science) the hairs on the top of the head are sensitive to a chemical called DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) which is a form of testosterone. What happens next is that the hairs on the top of the head tend to go into the 'sleep' stage of their development, which means that the hair follicle will only produce thin, short, pale hairs. There are many treatments for this kind of hair thinning such as Rogaine, Procepia and Growthex. For example, Growthex works by putting the hair back in to the 'growth' phase so the hair follicle start producing thicker longer hairs.

it doesnt matter how fine the hair is, laser hair removal damages the hair follicle and prevents any more hair growing. if you go to your doctor they can discuss options with you. but i also think you should consult the doctor about the hair loss as this could be caused by a few things such as hormonal problems, so best get it checked out!

I have one single swelling toe, which is discoloured and very numb/painful, my doctor says it's just chilblains but no other toes or hands are affected, it also doesn't have a red spot as they are reported to have. Have tried all the thermal socks etc to no avail, it is nuch worse in winter, could it be raynauds? and what more should I do? Thanks

I'm 18 and I've lived in discoloured teeth for 5 years now. I have white rectangles on both my front incisor teeth. It's quite annoying, It really affects my confidence. I was bullied in school over it. I would've considered having whitening done to hide discoloured teeth but I costs so much.

I have seriously discoloured teeth. I was assaulted a few years ago and as a result had the nerves removed from y two front teeth, I also had Chemotherapy 4 years ago which has discoloured my other teeth and worsened my front teeth. I can't smile confidently and would like to know a solution. I sufferer disabilities and therefore need the work done on the NHS, my dentist is reluctant to do any work as she says nothing will whiten my teeth. I am very upset with this.

I am 16 and like many my teeth are a bit discoloured, it doesn't bother me too much. I have rotted teeth at the back of my mouth and now both my front teeth are slightly chipped, one noticably more than the other. Also one of my front teeth is noticably more discoloured than the other. I'm terrified of dentists and I ran out last time. Is there anyway I can get my front tooth capped and my teeth whitened and cleaned without having to go through getting my back teeth out?

Hello, I haven't actually talked to my doctor about this, but I also suffer from excessive hair. The problem for me is the placement of it, I am unfortunatly 'gifted' with a very dark happy trail and a horrifying... Hairy butt. This is un-believably embarassing and I'm utterly mortified about asking for advice for it. Also the area in the cleft is discoloured thereby making it more obvious, is there anything I can do about both of these problems? Thank you very much for your time xJx

Hi I am eighteen years old. I had a fungal infection last year in my right foot which started in my big toe's toenail and eventually to the rest of toenails on the same foot. I was prescribed some terbinafine tablets which cleared the infection up. However, I have recently noticed that there is a scaly discoloured discharge and that the rest of my toenails are also starting to become brittle, course and discoloured along with athletes foot. I have been to my GP for the second time who took a clipping from the infected toenails and have been sent off to be analysed. I am wondering why the fungal infection in the same foot keeps reoccurring and what is the next step to getting rid of this. please help It is embarassing!!

Hi, I first developed DSAP lesions in my early 20's. Now in my late 30's, most of mine are still rough, but not discoloured. I find that the ones which are discoloured start out as pink or red, and over time they have become more brown. I have one large sized legion on my fore arm which is brown for example. Mine don't ich either, but I do suffer from horrible dry skin which can make it worse. Lots of cream helps with the roughness a bit, but I have not found anything that completely helps. The more cream however, the less noticeable I find the spots are. My only word of caution is don't pick them or scrub to much backseat this only makes them worse and can cause them to become red.

I was told by my doctor that both my big toes had fungal nail infection (not actually tested though) as they were mildly discoloured. 1 of them looks like its trying to grow Another nail underneath. I was given nail treatment but didnt really follow through. I bought a scholl treatment and have been doing it religiously, i have 1 week left and my toes look worse than they did before! They are now white and discoloured and a little crumbly, hard etc, it's embarrassing. My mother has it too on both her big toes and she told me about 'nail psoriasis' so am wondering if this is actually what i have? I do have skin psoriasis on my scalp and have had for as long as i can rememeber. Its such a shame though to find out theres no cure for it as of yet.

Same here!! I have scalp psoriasis and my nails are suffering!! I just discovered that psoriasis is caused from too much yeast in the body. Get tested or do a home saliva test. (Saw on Dr, OZ). I'm giving up sugar and gluten as these feed the fungus. I've done this for one week and can't believe the difference!!

I have discoloured lips. The bottom lip has a brownish/ dark patches and sometimes yellow stains rub off when I wipe my lips with a wet tissue or towels. I have tried reducing my smoking and also started applying vaseline and using clarified butter with lemon to litten the dark patches. Other than smoking, im very conscious of my health and looks and my lips have a huge knock on my confidence. All my friends and colleagues smoke but they don't have discoloured lips brown patches on their lips. How comes I have this problems and what can I do to fix this problem. Please could you be ever so kind and help me. Hope to hear from you soon Kind regards

My teeth came like that too. It is upsetting but there are several things you can do to make them look better and to stop them getting worse. Avoid strong coloured drinks like cola, pepsi, tea and coffee because they will stain your teeth more. Cigarettes too! Use a whitening toothpaste twice a day and a mouthwash too. Visit your dentist at least twice a year, even if your teeth are fine. Talk to him/her about seeing your hygienist who will help you. If they are really bad, talk to your dentist and tell them how they make you feel. They might be able to whiten them, but going back to coke or tea will quickly make them more yellow. If you are a girl, be careful what colour lipstick you choose as some make it look worse. If your teeth are shiney and clean, their colour is also less noticeable. Keep smiling ;D

go to the authodontist? if they are wonky they can do braces and they kinda train you to look afer your teeth xx or you can get them whitend? bought from the shop or whatever !

Hi, I watched your show and found it to be very informative. I have a problem. I am an indian women with dark skin (think that I am a type 5 skin type) and have excessive facial hair, severe acne scarring and hyperpigmentation. My condition is very embarrassing to me. The hair that I have is rough and is around my chin and under my chin, as well as hair on my stomach which goes up to my breasts and around my nipples. I have been to dermatologists before and was put on the pill, but did not see much improvement. To be honest, I don't feel feminine, since doing my research, I appear to have a hormonal imbalance and bear male pattern traits, which is so distressing. The worst part of my condition is that my entire face is discoloured and the area around my mouth is darkly coloured/blueish black. My main concern is the discolouration and blackish/blueish hyperpigmentation on my face. My question is since I am brown, do you suggest any treatments to treat my condition? Also, I would really like your advice on laser treatments for hyperpigmentation on dark skin like mine. Would I be a candidate for fraxel laser or any other laser to remove my stubborn hyperpigmentation and what about hair removal? This condition has dampened my social life which is non-existent and have suffered with this condition from age of 12.
