My boyfriend and I are nearly 17 and we have been together for nearly a year and have only every been sexually active with each other. For a while my boyfriend has been receiving discomfort and irritation on and around his penis and balls caused by an unknown source. He has a small bump (feels like a bite) in the under part of his penis near the base. He has been to the doctor more than once and and had blood tests but no one saw any problem, no STIs not anything. The doctor have him antibiotics which stopped the discomfort and itching for the period he was on them but when he stopped it all came back. This happens a lot and the discomfort usually lasts hours. He is over weight for his age and height and has little red dots all over the top of his arms and top of his back. I'm not sure if everything is linked or not but he is becoming depressed as no one can figure out what the problem is. Help??

The discomfort is somewhat hard to explain but its somewhat like when he is completely in me it feels like he hits something. It is quite painful on most occasions and at 2 points it brought me to tears and I couldnt walk for a day afterward. Its almost as if the entrance of my inner Vagina swells or something or maybe something inside me stoppes him. is this normal? Whats wrong with me?

It sounds like you have a tilted uterus - or at least it sounds like experiences I have had and I was diagnosed with a tilted uterus. Its nothing serious, it can occur naturally but it can also occur from scarring if you have had an STI like chlamydia that hasnt been treated. If there's a chance of that, you should get checked out ASAP. Hope this helps :)

Hi, Usually for around a week before I have my period (which has become quite heavy since I turned 30, I'm 37 now) I experience some discomfort around and in the entrance to my vagina and this discomfort lasts almost all through my week long period. It's hard to explain as it's not exactly a pain but it is probably most like an uncomfortable skin sensation I get on my arms before a heavy cold, but nothing has been done to cause it: ie no sex (including toys) or masturbation. This almost caused the breakup of my marriage because I can't bear to be touched when the sensation is there and so I sought help from my GP and the local GUM clinic but was told that there was nothing wrong. I'm not taking birth control as I have been sterilised but I do take amitryptiline to treat my restless legs condition. Ironically it is useful (in a strange way) because it lets me know when I'm due to have a period but the discomfort can be too much to bear. Could my condition be vulvodynia or could it be something else? Thanks in advance

hi! im exactly the same. i get a slight itchy/scratchy tightening sensation about 5-10 days before my period... it starts off like a twitch, then the pain gets worse and lasts until my period is over (15-20 days in total) ive had it for 10 years now (im 26) and really dont know if there is a cure or how to gain treatment. ive seen numerous GPs but never seem to get anywhere and they just advise me not to use body lotions and change my detergent. you say youre taking amitryptiline, this is supposed to be one of the treatments, is it helping you at all? x

I have type 2 diabetes and have persistent discomfort after wee-ing. I am also being treated with estriol for vaginitis. The discomfort occurs when I am sitting, usually in the evening, and increases from a soreness, burning, to a pain like toothache. It makes me feel tired and i give up and go to bed. I use Cetraben as a barrier cream, and in the shower to build up a barrier before I wee. Then after wee-ing I blot with toilet paper gently, rather than wipe, and add more cream. You may have featured this on tv in the last 2 months but I missed the outcomes. Thank you

I had a prolapse 6years ago. I had the the front end of the womb and the back end of the bowl done. I suffered with a lot of discomfort after having this down so the following year i had the back end of the womb tighten up. 6years down the line I'm still having problems with down below. If i go for a pooh and strain it becomes very uncomfortable and as the day goes on it becomes uncomfortable to walk. I usually have to have a warm bath then lie with me feet up on the settee to ease the discomfort. it can also be trigger of if i wee to often. Ive had the camera in the bladder to make sure no damage was done after the first op. Now they say ive a slight prolapse but doesn't need a operation for that one. 6years down the line and I'm in discomfort all the time fed up with it.wish i never had the first op done as i never had the discomfort like i have got now.

Someone above said "getting the op will take years on the NHS". Not true in my case. Saw GP in September, saw consultant in October, had op just over 4 days ago. About 12 weeks from first going to GP. Slight discomfort during day still. Got nocturnal erection second night after surgery which is reassuring but a bit painful. Reckon by the time I've been home a week I'll be pain and discomfort free. As an indication of the pain level, I've had paracetamol three times since the day of the op, so the pain and discomfort can't be too bad if I don't take anything for it. Usually I'm a wimp where pain is concerned.

girls i have a labia that hangs down as well, and i was really worried that id be commented about when i had sex but that isn't the case my boyfriend likes it. know ones perfect if it isn't causing you discomfort don't get rid of it. because you may get it neatened up but when you have children you could have the same problem again. having your vulva made smaller is a painful procedure and isn't even worth the discomfort unless your labia's causing you discomfort in the first place, all the best girls and remember your perfect the way you are.

Got two consultations now witrh two different cosmetic hospitals to have the labiaplaty! It's ok for other women who are not in any pain of discomfort to be bale to say "oh it's normal be happy with who you are!" You women have obviously not expirinced the chronic discomfort pain and irritation this can cause! Its had me in tears and the NHS apprently dont do this anymore even though i consider it as a medical problem hence the pain and discomfort! So now i am to fork out thounsands of pounds just in the name of being comfortable! This can be a medical issue people!

Hi caz, i know exactly what u mean im 20 and have very enlarged labias, its just wrong to say its normal & beautiful when it causes so much discomfort and my main issue of being unhygenic. I have to spend hours cleaning white stuff away from the labias and plus i work i just cant take it anymore and am so exhausted. It just seems to be getting bigger & worse, i worried by clitoris will go big as i have to clean that a little too :( although im so scared of surgery i can see this as my only option of being happy & normal. Please my i ask how u booked your appointments to see the specialists for labiaplasty, how much are u paying? and where are they situated? any help on this will be much appreciated as i just want it gone its just causing too much misery x

Hi Fizzy, I have read it costs between 1,500 and 3,000 pounds but you can pay this monthly insted of one big sum so you would only pay say 50 pounds a month until it added up and soem places do intrest free. I went online and looked up MYA, Harley medical group and Transform medical group and they all do free consultations and you can find teh numbers on there website. They have surgeries all over the country (I'm persuming your from britain) I'd say give it a go and the consultations are free so theres nothing at all to loose! And then decide from there how you will pay and who you wnat to go with. Good luck! As from your clitoris getting bigger i don't think you have to worry about that at the age of twenty your more or less fully grown and it shouldn't get any bigger. :)

I believe I may have vulvodynia. I had a discomfort for 3 years that was treated (unsuccessfully) with creams and antibiotics. The doctors kept thinking it was a UTI. At the same time, I was diagnosed with dysplasia and had the cone treatment to remove precancerous cells on my cervix. That was 2 years ago. I am now getting this same discomfort and dread going to the doctor for more run around. The symptoms fit vulvodynia to a "T". Is it possible that it can go away and come back years later? I've had the discomfort some, off and on and very lightly, over these past 2 years, but now it is back regularly. Also, it seems less in the morning when I first get up. Is this normal for vulvodynia? Just as an FYI, I am 63 and way finished menopause.

I'm 17 and only recently tried to have sex. Because my girlfriend is a virgin too it's all very tight there. This caused my foreskin to pull back causing me discomfort, and this discomfort lead to me losing the erection slightly... Is this normal? I'm trying to avoid seeing my GP

Thank you Martin. I have large labia too and I have been so happy about them since I found out that guys love it. I used to feel some discomfort too but that has disapeared after I started feeling positive about my labia. Besides that if the clothing makes discomfort wear something else, and if you can't bike, walk! No body would ever ask a man to cut his balls off if they gave him discomfort. It's exactly the same thing and instead of labia plasty all you women here should learn how to accept and love your self. I can assure you it will give you a lot more life quality and self respect than labia plasty can give.

Hi, I've recently been experiencing an ongoing discomfort in my testicles which feels similar to when you've been hit in the nads (not he initial pain but the discomfort you feel afterwards) I've been to see my doctor and he put me on antibiotics which have done nothing to resolve the issue. At times I wonder if stress/anxiety may be a factor but I can't confirm this. The discomfort is not permanently there and can come and go. I've recently noticed that on occasions by testicles can rest quite high towards the base of my penis and with some manual intervention can be gently pushed down to rest normally within the sack. Could this be an explanation or is this even a common issue? Any help would be great. Thank you

I have the same kind of concerns, the "lips" around my vagina are sore, red and they hurt, I get a lot of discomfort and it's very itchy and I did speak to my mum about the last time, so I put Vaseline and wet tissues to stop the discomfort. There's a type of scaling of some sort,it bleeds once I took it all off and becomes scaley and wetish. What do I do????

H, you have thrush or Candida Vulvovaginitis of some sort. This means that a naturally-occuring fungus in your vagina has basically overgrown to a level that is causing you discomfort. This frequently has something to do with the acidity levels of your vagina, type of underwear worn, improper hygiene after sex, as well as diet. Please see your GP and you will be likely to have a prescription for an anti-fungal suppository such as clotrimazole.

Hi girls, just to let you know for the ones who want to know if you can have it done on the NHS... I have had the surgery! Only one side of mine was bigger and not big at all but it was causing me discomfort so I went to my doctor and they refered me to the hospital and I had it done on the NHS.
