It depends on your time of the month where your cervix is. It could be normal for you. Using tampons isn't easy, even for an older woman.

i have a lump on the inside of my vagina which i believe to be my cervix, its never painful nor does it ever cause me discomfort however, it seems to move during sex further up my vagina and the gradualy comes back down and if i push it my self it moves.. is this normal for the cervix or does this mean its something else more serious? A x

Is your cervix supposed to jut down into the vagina? I'm in my late 20's and haven't had kids, when I insert a tampon I can feel what I think is my cervix (a finger shaped thing with what feels like a small hole in the end)quite far into my vagina, is this normal?

I was 28 and had 2 kids before I had my 1st smear Jo. I'm 31 now and had my 2nd last week. It was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. It was over in 5 minutes. My 2nd one has just come back as showing abnormal cells and I have to be retested in 6 months. So its a good job I went! It's 5 minutes of embarrassment vs the rest of your life xn

this is perfectly normal, that is the shape of the cervix.

Hi Gemma, im 27 and have got a similar problem. I sometimes find it painfull during sex- my cervix is quite low and it feels as if hes bashing it. I had a smear test and the nurse could not find my cervix which really panicked me. she had to get the doctor to do it and the doctor found it but said i had a tilted cervix as well and not to worry about it but i still do. it feels as though it tilts towards my back. i think im going to go to my doctor about it again but she will probably tell me not to worry again!!

Me and my boyfriend went to the clinic yesterday while I was told my cervix looked perfectly healthy he was diagnosed with genital warts, why wasnt I diagnosed? If my cervix is healthy does that mean I don't have them? Will I get them? There's so many questions I'm worrying that he has cheated on me but he would of given them to me surely? Have had everything tested and I am just waiting for the results now

Hi, I wouldn't jump straight into accusing your boyfriend of cheating on you. Unfortunately HPV( the virus that causes genital warts) can lay dormant in a persons system for many years and may (if it ever does) show it's self when the immune system becomes very low e.g if you get flu. If you had unprotected sex then chances are you will have the virus but depending on how strong your immune system is your body may fight the virus off and you may never get an outbreak. 70-80% of sexually active people contract hpv throughout their lifetime but it mostly goes unnoticed and does not prove an issue, it's like the common cold of std's it's rubbish to have but it's certainly not the worst you can get. Try not to worry but just keep an eye on things and your health in general, which hopefully, you will be doing anyway. Hope I have helped :)

I tested positive for chlamydia, and also got told I had cervicitis (inflamed cervix) caused by the chlamydia. I got given a course of antibiotics which I've finished to clear up the chlamydia but I'm just wondering if it would have cleared up the cervicitis too? I'm worrying like mad that it's going to make me infertile, I'm only 20. How do I know my cervix has gone back to normal?

I saw my GP for bleeding between periods and she noticed my cervix was red and she said this could either be cervical erosion or cervical cancer so referred me to gynaecologY. I saw the gynacologist last week and told her my symptoms and also that I have really heavy discharge which is really embarrassing as it shows through trousers. She told me that my cervix is red but that it doesn't matter. She could not do a smear as I am under 25. She said there is nothing I can do about the discharge, stating it is normal and I will have to just get used to it. What can I do now as I cannot spend every day running to the toilet? Thankyou

Hopefully you have had your referral now. But you dint have to live with heavy discharge. There is a procedure that helps with the cervical erosion and when this is done the discharge should reduce very much so. I lived with this from 14 to 30 its not pleasant. I had different docs tell me id have to livs with it until one day a gp spotted the erosion referred me on and i was told it was a rather large cervical erosion and i would have had it years. Dont take no for an answer

Have you tried going to a sexual health clinic? They might be able to help. Sounds like your gynecologist wasn't very helpful, but a different doctor might be better. Good luck

My name is Brenda. I had my part of my septum walk removed vaginally and it actually helped in the comfort of sex. Before it was really painful. Always uncomfortable. After the surgery is was not bad at all.

I Have Never Had A Problem with Sex... I Didn't Even Know Anything Was Wrong Until After My Miscarriage! So Removing The Septum Isn't A Matter For Comfort As Much As It Is To Give Access To The 2ND Uterus... That Is Why On Afraid Of The Procedure Will Make Sex Uncomfortable Where It Isn't Uncomfortable Before It... IftThat Make Sense. lol

Hi there Ella. I have a very similar story. I have a double uterus, two cervix and as far as I know i do not have a septum or double vagina. I also have only one kidney which a specialist told me was connected to women with uterus didelphys. When I was 12 I had emergency surgery due to intense pain and illness that my doctors didn't understand. They discovered the situation and that my left cervix was blocked and not draining my period from the left ovary. I only found out about the kidney when I was 21 by chance. My doctors never mentioned anything about trouble with pregnancy so I've only found out about all this by googling :-( Now I am 31 and 11.5 weeks pregnant. I have had a miscarriage at 6 weeks (last year) so I am quite anxious about carrying to full term as there appears to be complications for women like us. I've spoken with my local hospital about my condition and hoping to join a 'high risk pregnancy clinic' they have so I'll have to see how much attention they pay. Also I fell pregnant in my right uterus which is larger than my left so hopefully it's all good! I hope your pregnancy went well. I'd love to hear. Rachel from Australia

Its your cervix it feels like the tip of your nose? with a small hole in it? i have the exact same your cervix is usually high up and you cant feel it but many women do have a naturally low cervix ive never got mine checked but you should if your concerned.

It sounds like what you are describing is actually your cervix. The little hole is the tiny cervix opening. Your cervix can feel very close to the entrance of your vagina, because your vaginal canal actually lengthens or shortens throughout your menstrual cycle! Nothing to worry about!

I would ask for a stitch to be put in place to prevent your cervix from shortening, I had CIN 3 in dec 10 treated with LETTZ and biopsy, I was diagnosed with short cervix whilst 17 wks pregnant in July 11 and was told I would be reassessed 2 wks later and for a stitch to be put in, 3 days after being told I had a short cervix I dilated completely and my membranes ruptured and we lost our little boy due to incompetent cervix. Find out your options before its too late. good luck sweat.

I also have a double womb. I lost a baby at 27 weeks because of preterm labor. But was later able to carry 3 beautiful daughters to 38 weeks. I did go into preterm labor many times with all three starting about 24 weeks into my pregnancy. Bed rest is a must. Also I had to have my cervix sewn shut with my last baby at 28 weeks. Then when they went to remove the stitches at 37 weeks I was dilated to a 3. It is very important to have a doctor that specializes in high risk pregnancies. Also while most women with a double womb have problems getting pregnant I am the opposite. I get pregnant really really easy. I have at lest 3 periods every 2 months. And sometimes 4 or 5 in a two month span. Good luck to you and your husband....I have 3 teen daughters to prove that there is hope.

I had surgery done to my cervix last year due to the presence of cin 3 and cgin. I had a biopsy taken and cold coagulation was done to remove the abnormal cells from two small areas of my cervix. I am now 15 weeks pregnant with my first baby and am concerned that I may have an incompetent cervix which may lead to a miscarriage. Can u advise if this is likely or whether I should get this checked out?

Hi, I'm 13, and I think I have a relatively normal vagina. But I am a little bit worried about my cervix.. I first noticed it when I first started using tampons two years ago. At the beginning of my cervix I have some tissue that almost sticks out, well it on the outside of my cervix too. Is this my hymen? It doesn't cause any pain or affect any part of me. Am I normal? Thank you.

hi im 16, i have the same and only just realised, im a bit worried too and i would like some answers, but it's reasuring knowing that im not the only one :s

(replying to Steph)Yeah it's just a bit odd.. It hasn't cause me any problems and it doesn't look to offputting of odd, but I just want to know what It is :S

I have a double uterus with two cervices and a vaginal septum, and have gone through a handful of gynos to find the one that best understands and can work with it. Because of the septum, it isn't possible to examine and swab both cervices during an annual pap smear (as one doctor tried to convince me it was). They need to check each cervix separately, making sure the speculum is placed correctly each time (so they don't accidentally check the right one twice and think one was the left, or whatever). My doctor examines one side and then puts a swab on that side of the septum to mark it, so she can make sure she's accurately checking the other cervix next. Anyway, hope that helps explain some things. As far as medical anomalies go, it's kind of cool, except for the paying for two annual pap smear tests at once thing...

You probably have a weak cervix. I have the same thing. A simple outpatient procedure at between 12 and 14 weeks to put a stitch in the cervix called a cerclage, will help keep it closed as the baby grows and puts weight on the cervix causing it to dilate prematurely. Your pattern of late miscarriages is a classic case of incompetent cervix. It is heartbreaking to lose your babies in pregnancy. I have been there and my heart goes out to you. But, there are things that can be done to help you carry a pregnancy to viability. You need to see a maternal-fetal medicine specialist. Best of luck to you. I hope you will have a baby in your arms soon.

From what you have explained, it sounds like you are attempting to enter your cervix to have sex?? I am not sure that that is a very good idea. When a person has sex, they enter the vagina but should never go into through the cervix and into the womb!! I could only imagine that that would be one of the most painful and dangerous things you could do! It is just asking for disaster. A cervix is meant to remain closed! It is protecting your womb from any infections, damage, and is what holds your baby in whilst it is growing in the womb. From what I have read, the fact that the penis slips past your cervix when you are having sex is a good thing!! As long as the penis is enters, that IS sex!

I have double cervix, uterus and vagina. The whole package. My mom and grandma both have this and my mom was told she'd never have kids. I'm the only one with two vaginas though. But my mom had three kids regularly. My gyn. said she was surprised and that I could possibly have kids, but it would be a very high risk pregnancy and I'd be constantly monitored. I'm only 19 now but I do plan to have kids one day, I just hope this doesn't stop me in the future.

Hello, I had a beautiful baby girl 14 nearly 15 weeks ago. She was delivered by Elective C-Section as she was breech. Once the surgeon had delivered my baby they told me I have 2 uterus and 2 cervix and 2 vaginas ... 2 of everything!! Before my section I had no idea what so ever! During pregnancy the only problems I had was back ache! No problem conceiving or anything like that. Having double and being pregnant is higher risk, higher risk of miscarriage, pre-term labour, bleeding and high blood pressure etc but there's no reason for you not to have a baby!! My advice would be to gather as much info as you can about this as I have none and I know little about it :( good luck :) x

Hi all, I'm a 19 year old Film & TV student from Liverpool. I'm currently planning on doing a documentary on Uterus Didelphys, as I have just found out that I too have Uterus Didelyphs. At the minute I am at an early stage of finding out and I don't know much about it. I was looking for another woman with this problem to be apart of the documentary. which will then be hopefully uploaded onto the short of the week website. You do not have to be filmed if you do not want to, but I would like to maybe do an over the phone interview unless you would like to be a part of this. I would appriciate it a alot if someone would take part as I would like it to be more known out there about uterus didelphys. Thanks Hayley

I have double uterus, cervix and vaginal septum. Although I have a very rare form which means the uterus are cigar tube shape and don't expand as much. I have had lots of miscarriages, and was told I would not be able to have children. I have a very beautiful little miracle who was born at 29 weeks by c section weighing just 2 lb. To any one who has been given this news don't give up miracles do happen.

My one big fear is to not be able to have children. I sometimes bleed a little a week or so after my period. I have seen my local doctor and I had a smear test to check I had no STI's, they all came back negetive. My doctor also said that the skin that goes over the cervix in the vagina is thin and is very common. This causes my cervix to look quite red and is more at risk to infection that a 'normal' cervix. This can cause bleeding during my cycle. I am scared it can affect my chances of becoming pregnant. Please help..

I too have a double uterus and two cervix. I was told that it would be difficult to conceive and to carry to term. I got pregnant at 41 and carried my baby to term and gave birth at 42 to a seven and a half pound baby via c section. I had a very good pregnancy and was looked after extremely well by Queen Charlotte's in London.

Please don't worry too much. A small bulge inside the vagina may just be the shape of your vagina, there's all sorts of folds etc in there! Also the blockage at the end of your fingertips I think may be your cervix. The cervix is at the top of the vagina and I once made the embarassing mistake of thinking it was something sinister and went to the doctor to be told it was my cervix (and I was 26 at the time!!). If you are really worried go and see the nurse at your doctors practice, they are usually brilliant at explaining things.

At the age of 27,i went to the my doc to find answers as to why i was not getting pregnant because i have never done anything to prevent it from happening. I found out that i have 2 separate wombs and 2 cervix but the opening of the cervix are smaller than normal. I am now 30 and still not pregnant. i want to know what would be my best option to get pregnant. My doctor recommend that i do a surgery to combined the wombs into 1 and open up the cervix, i really, really don't want to do that. Am starting to feel hopeless. What else can i do?

Hi Im 14 and my breast are 34 Double D Does that mean i have stopped growning or i will carry on growing ?? Plus is it normal to have Double D's at 14

I have had this condition on and off for 30 years every month, I found a dr. 7 years ago who recommended Superficial diathermy of the cervix, because the cells inside the cervix are different to the ones outside, but my inside cells were growing faster so they were outside of the cervix, which was causing the problem. So I had them "burnt" off, I was asleep, it didnt hurt. Since then I occasionally get the symptoms, I've probably had them 5 times in those 7 years. It has changed my life.

if i insert my finger into my vagina i can feel my cervix quite soon. nothing protrudes from the cervix. should i have this looked at by a doctor?
