Im a 15 yr old girl and I have a double uterus with my doctors say is shaped like bunny ears, I've been in many different birth control pills and they work for a short amount of time and stop working, my period pain and bleeding is awful so my parents and I are taking to a doctor about taking the second uterus out, even if I have the second one taken out will there still be a possibility that I could have kids because the other uterus is still in there?

I'm 16 and I just found out today I have a double uterus and a large septum, the best bet is to not take the second one out because even with 2 you can still Carry a child but the only risks are pre term labor and the baby being breeched in that case you would need a c section

You might not have didelphic uterus, you might have another uterine abnormality. The best way to confirm which you have (which I believe there is about 5 different) is to have an MRI

Hi I have a double uterus and 2 cervix. One is weaker then the other but I've had 2 healthy babies, one is 7 and the other is 4 months old. I did suffer with pre-eclampsia and premature births at 35 and 36 weeks by emergency caesarean. But they were both good weights and perfectly healthy babies

I just Found Out that i have uterus didelphys and I am TTC, is there a possibility that uterus didelphys will not affect me at all and all will be 100% normal if i do become pregnant or does this condition affect everyone with double uterus in some way?

What should the next step if a double uterus is discovered at Caesarean section ... Should we do hysterectomy at the time of Caesarean section of the uterus not having pregnancy.. Leaving behind the other uterus.. In in case of unilateral hysterectomy, can we give that patient a trial of VBAC.

Hi I'm 26 and single, when I did my health check via ultrasound for my hemorrhoids operation the ME told me that I have a retroverted uterus and my friend in medical industry told me people with retroverted uterus can't conceive. My concern is can I conceive later in future once I'm married? How can I further confirm if I have a retroverted uterus?

Hi, I m 47. I was told many years ago that I have a tilted uterus. This hasn't caused any problems up until recently ( I have two children ) I am finding it difficult to insert tampons and have lower abdomal and lower back pain. Is there any possible connection? Thanks

Hi,I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant, told at dating scan I have a retroverted uterus. We conceived first month of trying. I wouldn't worry.

Can your uterus be retroverted one day and 'normal' the next? I ask this question , because I had an ultrasound done back to back, and the first day they told me my uterus was 'normal' and the following day they told me it was retroverted. They claimed they did not make a mistake the first day and that infact my uterus was 'normal',I am very confused at the moment.

I have a retroverted uterus ,and have 3 children it never took long to get pregnant with any of them.

I just found out today that I have a retroverted uterus through an internal ultrasound. I've had this procedure done 2 and a half years ago. Why did it not get picked up back then? Also I suffer from pcos and have been told that I have fertility problems, does the problem with my uterus make this worse? I'd love to have children and to be able to conceive naturally but it sounds like it won't be possible. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I have a tilted uterus, pcos, endometriosis and fibroids. Don't do things by halves!!! I now have 3 beautiful children, two were conceived through IVF and ovarian drilling. I lost two babies mid pregnancy. My third I fell with a years charting of periods and chlomiphene. It was hard work and very clinical at times but worth every second. Please don't give up, I know it's such a cliche but try and relax as it really does help. Good luck and I'm sure one day you will make thd most amazing mummy x

hi can anybody help me. I have been under investigation from my GP after suffering with abdo pain ever since having my little boy by c-section 2 and half years ago. Drs state that I have IBS so gave me medication for this, however this did not seem to be working. I have been back to the DRs numerous times because the pain I am experiencing is horrible and is causing me to have time off work. I finally managed to get booked in for an USS and this showed my uterus was tilted forward and slightly twisted. What does this mean?? Also I have not had a period for three months- I am not pregnant, and I am constatntly tired, moody and off sex with my husband. when I do have sex it hurts, this si really getting me dwn now but my Drs keep saying it is IBS could my uterus be causing all these problems???

Hi my doctor said I had Ibs prescribed me medication 6 months ago didn't. Work went for a smear test last week she said I had a tilted uterus I also have had pain after sex and bleeding but there looking in to it I would go back and demand a second opinion hope this helps

I have a tounge-shaped structure in my vagina. I'm not sure if it is vaginal prolapse or maybe something different. When I feel inside my vagina with my finger, I feel like this tongue-shaped structure extends from the top of my vagina (where i would expect to feel my uterus) to the opening of my vagina. I'm also worried that I can feel my entire vagina with only my index finger. Isn't it suppose to be at least 5 inches deep? I'm 21 years old and I'v never had sexual intercourse because of this because I don't see how a penis would fit. I don't understand how I can feel my entire vagina with just my finger without feeling my cervix or opening of my uterus! I don't understand how my periods can be so regular without an opening to my uterus. I don't see this thick mass or toungue shaped structure in any vaginal diagrams. Is it my cervix that i feel? Can someone please help?!

I seem to have this strange "tongue shape structure" that you describe aswell and dont have a clue what it is?? I have a 4 year old child and did not notice it before then but cant say i have taken much notice. I have had a smear text since and nothing was mentioned except my cervix apparently faces the wrong way. Sex however isnt a problem so I think you would have to try it to work that out for yourself! I do have issues with inserting tampons though. I think your best bet is to see a doctor for an internal examination

no, you need to see a doctor who will refer you to a gaenacologist and an ultra sound will be able to detect if you have a heart shaped uterus or a double uterus

I have double uterus, cervix and vaginal septum. Although I have a very rare form which means the uterus are cigar tube shape and don't expand as much. I have had lots of miscarriages, and was told I would not be able to have children. I have a very beautiful little miracle who was born at 29 weeks by c section weighing just 2 lb. To any one who has been given this news don't give up miracles do happen.

The Septum Is Blockin The Left Uterus And Cervix, So Only The Right Side Is Conceivable. My name is Brenda. I had my part of my septum walk removed vaginally and it actually helped in the comfort of sex. Before it was really painful. Always uncomfortable. After the surgery is was not bad at all.

I Have Never Had A Problem with Sex... I Didn't Even Know Anything Was Wrong Until After My Miscarriage! So Removing The Septum Isn't A Matter For Comfort As Much As It Is To Give Access To The 2ND Uterus... That Is Why On Afraid Of The Procedure Will Make Sex Uncomfortable Where It Isn't Uncomfortable Before It... IftThat Make Sense. lol

Hi there Ella. I have a very similar story. I have a double uterus, two cervix and as far as I know i do not have a septum or double vagina. I also have only one kidney which a specialist told me was connected to women with uterus didelphys. When I was 12 I had emergency surgery due to intense pain and illness that my doctors didn't understand. They discovered the situation and that my left cervix was blocked and not draining my period from the left ovary. I only found out about the kidney when I was 21 by chance. My doctors never mentioned anything about trouble with pregnancy so I've only found out about all this by googling :-( Now I am 31 and 11.5 weeks pregnant. I have had a miscarriage at 6 weeks (last year) so I am quite anxious about carrying to full term as there appears to be complications for women like us. I've spoken with my local hospital about my condition and hoping to join a 'high risk pregnancy clinic' they have so I'll have to see how much attention they pay. Also I fell pregnant in my right uterus which is larger than my left so hopefully it's all good! I hope your pregnancy went well. I'd love to hear. Rachel from Australia

Hi, my name 's Sandra. I have 2 uterus but only 1 cervix. However, my right uterus is giving me horrible problems as it does not have a hole for menstrual blood to flow. Is it a big risk if I cut the right uterus out? Will there be a chance of me getting pregnant with only the left uterus? Thanks.

My question is for those with double uterus and going through menopause. I was told that I didn't have additional hormones because of this . I'm 49 and have been going through menopause for the past 10 years. For the last 2 years I have been extremely frank at all costs to everyone, bosses, children, mother, boyfriend etc. People that I love very much. I seem to have lost all patience with everyone. I've had cervical cancer and can't take anything for my hormones. Is this causing menopause to be "double" hard to handle??? I want to know of more side effects if any.

I had a double uterus diagnosed three years ago at the age of 52. I had a divided vagina operated on when I was 20 but the double womb was missed. I went on to have three full term pregnancies in my early to mid twenties. I had unexplained bleeding with the first two and bleeding caused by placenta praevia with the third. I had normal deliveries in all three cases(the placenta praevia righted itself by the end of my fifth month of pregnancy) Ultrasound scans were not available until my third pregnancy so there could have been problems I didn't know about!

I have recently been diagnosed with a double uterus and had my first gyny appointment but he didn't really tell me anythin just said he'll see me in 6 months! How do I know if I have a septum or not?

They can see if you have a septum with an ultrasound. I was told that I had bi-cornuate uterus but no doctor would talk to me until I was ready to start having kids. It was after my first miscarriage that they did the ultrasound to really see if I had a septum. I did not, but if you do there is surgery to remove it.

I miscarried my 1st child in 1985 and it was discovered that I had a double uterus. After an operation to remove the vaginal wall I went on to have 2 children.

I always had very long painful periods. At age 22 when I got married I found sex to be very painful and always followed by bleeding. I visit the doctor and they discovered I had a double uterus, vagina and a bilateral duplicated urinary system. I had the septum removed which separated my vagina making sex more pleasant. At that time they told me I could never have children. They said if I got pregnant I would miscarry. I did get pregnant twice, each time I carried my babies to full term an delivered naturally. Both children were conceived in the right uterus.

Hi Jane it could be the fact that you have what is known as a Double Uterus which is where you have a normal vagina but it is split into two. This could be the problem because this then makes the sex holes smaller which could be why u r experiencing difficulty but just in case i am wrong it would speak to ur GP.

I have double of everything and have had 4 children by Caesarean section, they all went full term and were born healthy, I also had one miscarriage where they found the condition. I have two coils now to help with heavy periods. My daughter has a bicornuate uterus.

Hi I live in New Zealand and just watched the series where Hazel found out she had uterus didelphys. I was diagnosed with this many years ago and needed to have surgery in order to make sex possible. I since went on to get married and have two beautiful girls. One from my left uterus and the other from the right uterus. It was not without difficulties and both were premature but they are healthy and gorgeous.
