My jaw is very painful, it could be tmj from what i have read. please help! it really hurts? i can barely open my mouth. sometimees i can open it wider than other times but usually in the night it gets stuck then shortly after i wake up and it gets a bit looser after but from today in the morning it was stuck and hasnt loosened. Even though it loosens sometimes the pain is always there especially when i open my mouth. And now when my mouth is shut i can feel it hurts and it feels swollen. I find it hard eating, i cant yawn and it feels like my mouth is in a weird position. When i open my mouth on the right side it feels restricted my ear and a bone near it seems to ache (i dont know if this is the jaw itself or a different bone). is it TMJ, problems with wisdom teeth (even though i cant see any coming through), or something i dnt know about? Please help, thank you :)

I also have tmj and suffered some pain on the one side of the jaw and clicking on the other. i went to see my GP who didn't offer me any advice, except that I should see a chiropractor. I have been seeing one now for a couple of months and the improvments have been amazing! Although i have to be aware of getting stressed, the treatment I have had has been well woth it

I have been diagnosed with tmj, and it sounds very much the same as mine, the cause for mine was stress and grinding while asleep, you can have a mouth guard made up but i found it didn't help much as i would chew that, my advice would be to see a specialist like i did at the dental hospital, i was then refered to a chronic pain clinic as its believed the tmj might have damaged some facial nerves. Now i take a mixture of drugs to block the pain but its taken about 10 years to get to this stage and the meds leave me tired and a little strange, i think if the doctors had known before it might not have gotten to this stage, for years i was told it was my wisdom teeth comming through. So push for answers and help from Your gp and dental hospital as some cases can last just a few months so i'm told. I wish You all the best in resolving Your pain.

I had an mouth ulcer on the roof of my mouth. My dentist told me it will disappear if I carry out a roof canal treatment. However it didn't. And now this ulcer has been sitting in my mouth for over a year now, I am really worried. It does not hurt normally but I can feel sometimes it goes bigger and sometimes smaller. Don't know what it is really, can anyone suggests pls?

My boyfriend lied to me before we ever had sex and said he was checked out and had no STDs or STIs...I got chlamydia from him and I got medicine to clear it up. He had given me head and then we would kiss...does this mean I have it in my mouth, too? Hello. I'm 36 years old and I have a lot of acne around the mouth, that is on my chin and on the area above my mouth. The rest of my face is clear, but that area is always affected. When I'm on the pill it seems to get a lot better, but I recently got off of it and the acne around the mouth reappeared again, and this time much worse! It seems to me that it is hormone related. I had an ovarian cyst once, but the doctor didn't seem to be too worried about it. Should I seek hormonal treatment? Go back on the pill? Thank you!

Hi i am 20 years old and have a mole by the side of my mouth. as i have got older it seems to have got bigger and more raised. I really would like to get it removed but unfortunately my GP informs i have got to go private to get it removed as of where it is. apparently there are too many nerves near the mouth area and i could be at risk of the side of my mouth drooping if i get it removed. I have looked into it and it is far to expensive for me to go private. Is there any other way i can get it removed? thanks

I've had a sore mouth for about a week. One side of my mouth started to throb and then since this I have had several mouth ulcers around my Mouth.. Some by my tonsils and more clusters on the roof of my mouth and under my tongue. I have had mouth ulcers badly before (usually during my period) but this seems to be the most yet! My doctors have been very unhelpful. The pain is terrible and I can't eat. Please advise.

I suffered regularly from ulcers all around the inside of my mouth and tongue. I always seemed to suffer more at the start of summer. Eventually I figured out I have Oral Allergy Syndrome and I have a reaction to a wide range of raw fruit and veg, particularly tomatoes, peaches and melons.

I was recently diagnosed with behcets, I Am 21 years old and have had 5 outbreaks in 8 months. Each outbreak seems to be worse each time. It starts rapidly in the same spots every time. Mouth genitals mouth and hands. It's feels at first as if I'm being stabbed with thousands of needles and over the course of a few days my mouth is so bad I cannot even drink milk without being in extreme agony. I cannot walk because of the sores on my genitals. They are bigger than a 50 cent coin piece each and ooze blood and puss. It almost looks like a brown recluse bit me on my junk and my finger and mouth. Once it peaks my mouth hurts so bad I cannot talk. My mouth will start bleeding from my teeth rubbing against my tounge. Vicodin doesn't help at all. Nothing does. Has anyone ever expierenced it this bad? I just want it all to end. Even steroids aren't helping.

My son was diagnosed at age 19 with Behcets. Severe mouth ulcers, groin ulcers and on his face. Monthly infusions of Remicade have seen to be the best treatment with occasional prednisone in between.

I used to get relief from prednisone but it caused Cushing's so we had to stop... Have you tried colchicine or enbrel? I was on all of these before my doctors even considered Remicaid... Check out the American Behcet's Disease Association website, they give alot of treatment ideas, can help find doctors in your area and you can connect with other Behcet's people who can give you some ideas based on what worked for them. Good luck

I have been suffering with dry mouth for some time now.. sometimes it's white and sticky, and leaves the corners of my mouth white. I drink water a lot, and chew sugar free gum, but it don't seem to help. it can make me feel a bit shy, I always try to wipe the corners of my mouth before I speak, so people cannot see, the white corners of my mouth. I don't know if it is because, I am a shy person and nervous in crowds, what can I do to treat this? please help

Swill your mouth out with Corsodyl or Chlorhexidine. Keep the Corsodyl in your mouth for a minute, gargling also. DO NOT SWALLOW. You need to do this three time a day for a week. If you have a mouth problem, this should clear it and the smell should go. Do not eat or drink for half an hour afterwards. Read the label on the bottle.

Hello there, I have a very horible breath .It's nothing to do with hygiene. My teeth, gum and mouth are ok but the problem is with my stomach.I suffer from flux of acid that make not only my mouth smell but also the taste of mouth very bad.My GP always suscribe me thing that never work or work for a wile then stop. Can you please come up with a lasting solution ? Please, please help.

I have been getting mouth ulcers since i was 16 - thats 6 years now. I have never not had at least one in my mouth at a time, i get them down my throat, on the roof of my mouth, my tongue, gums everywhere and the doctor has prescribed many different things none of which have improved them at all. However when i was pregnant 2 years ago they completely disappeared but then after i had my child they came back again. I know seem to get break outs of them the week before my period is due. Do you have any idea what this could be and how i can stop them?

Hello Bob, I have found that i have the same problem. I cannot stand having him in my mouth as i gag very quickly. I have found though that if i push his penis into my cheek (inside the mouth) i can better control how far into my mouth he can go. I have found that if i cant do blowjobs, gently nibbling the shaft and running my tongue up and down gives him great pleasure. And we also include oral sex as part of everyday sex.

I had an infection in my mouth just over a year ago. It was caused by my gum growing over my teeth at the side of my mouth. It swelled up and my mouth closed over, the pain spread to my ear very quickly and was extremely unpleasent. I went to see my GP who gave me a course of antibiotics and it was gone within a week. About 2 weeks the later the same infection came back again and was treated the same way. The infections have cleared up to my knowledge but this has left me with terribly bad breath and a white tongue. I'v never brushed my tongue in my life before this now I have to brush it 3 times a day as well as brushing my teeth and using mouthwash just to make it bearable. My mouth feels toxic now and it's starting to get me down I just want a normal mouth again. Having seen my dentisit is seems he didn't really care and just told my to keep brushing my toungue but surely this is only a temporary fix. How do I stop the bacteria from forming and get rid of this problem once and for all?

I am a 34 year old man. I have suffered with mouth ulcers since my early 20's. I too have been to numerous doctors and consultants - the best they can offer is, "You may grow out of it", and "Yes, I get mouth ulcers from time to time - have you tried Bonjella?" Any advice on how to treat/prevent recurrent mouth ulcers (I rarely go a week without any) would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :(
