I am 17 and suffer from vaginal dryness :S I also can't get wet before sex. I often get thrush because of the lack of "friendly bacteria" down there due to the dryness. Sometimes when it is really bad it hurts when my jeans rub off it :( I use "replens" and it helps temporarily but it's embarrassing going in and buying it all the time. I now have to sneak into the bathroom and apply lube before sex otherwise it's impossible for it to take place. I was just wondering if there was a cure?

I am 20 years old and have been experiencing vaginal dryness for a little over a year now ever since I switched from the pill to the nuvaring. I find this weird because my doctor told me that the exact oposite should happen when you are using the nuvaring. We have tried lube and it works for a while but we have to reapply it often. I have had the nuvaring out now for a little over a week and was planning on switching to something else. The first night it was out we had no issues with dryness but now agian I am dry. I thought that my dryness was because of the nuvaring now I'm not so sure. I dont take any other medications, what else could cause this? Please help!

I had a course of Vagifem which was a great help and now I only use it twice a month. It stops the thining of the skin caused by dryness. Whether you have sex or not dryness can be quite uncomfortable. I am 70 and can still enjoy sexual activity. I think the programms were very helpful and should be discussed.

Hello. I'm 22 years old and have been sexually intimate with my spouse for 2 years bow; before him i was a homosexual and he is my first true penal penetration. Before i didn't have issues with vaginal dryness, but for at least for a year i have had it. Coupling s tight vagina, vaginal dryness and an occasional metallic smell, i am in a sexual nightmare. What could be causing the vaginal dryness and metallic smell, and could it be affecting my sexual performance and unbearable tightness?

I am 60 years old, and I have vaginal dryness which is very uncomfortable at time. I'm not in, or interested in having, a sexual relationship, but the dryness is sometime even uncomfortable just walking. I have tried using a gel, but the effects dont last very long, soon as I've been to the toilet, I am paper dry again. Is there anything else I can try, without the embarrassment of going to the GP?

Can vaginal dryness be caused by having too much sex at an early age? I'm asking this because my wife is 21 and a bit of a bore in bed because she's mostly dry and does nothing about it. What causes dryness so early in life?

There can be many causes of skin dryness and related problems. I assume you have seen a doctor about this before and no treatment has been effective as of yet? If this is the case, go to a different doctor, surgery or sexual health clininc to get a second opinion. You may require a stronger persciption or need to be on tablets for longer? In the short term, apply moisturiser to relieve some of the dryness, it will be perfectly safe to use as long as you aren't applying any other creams.

i had the bar put in and although it was very good in stopping my period it lowered my estrogen levels so low that i started having sever night sweats and also caused me to have vaginal dryness, i have had the bar taken out and was put on the pill only to help bring my estrogen levels back up but this only made the dryness a lot worse and caused me to have migranes. So now i am on nothing at all to try and hopefully get back to normal?

I have been very itchy & sore around vulva lips where the hair is. Thought it was dryness as have deficiency in Oestrogen & get prescribed Tablets on an applicator by my GP when this happens which, i have been inserting. However, now I am weeing alot & when I go it wont come straight away & then it does soon after. I know I dont drink enough water to flush things through so perhaps i should increase my fluids. Just wondered if I had a wee infection or could it be thrush tho, i dont have a discharge. I sometimes get like a fishy smell. I am prone to Vaginosis because of this dryness. Wld like yr comment on this asap please, many thanks!

I have got a case of vaginal dryness. Me and my partner are trying for a baby and have been for 6 months now. I have searched on the internet and have found that having vaginal dryness makes it a lot lot harder for you to conceive. I'm really worried and would like to know how i can sort this out? I've found a lubricant online that is supposed to be friendly for sperm and also helps make sex more comfortable and enoyable but i'm a bit sceptical about buying products on the internet. We want a family so bad and we are both worried that it will never happen. Please help us!!!

I've had 2 babies. My first was 2 and a half years ago. My 22nd was 4 months ago. Ever since my first delivery, it hurts to have sex. Seems worse now after having my 2nd child. It feels as if I have cuts inside, at the base of the vagina opening. Last time I saw my OBGYN, which was a little over 2 months after delivery, she said it's probably dryness from low estrogen levels. She examined and said she saw some redness. She applied something topical that burned like he'll and said it would help. Once it stopped burning I did feel better down there. After sex though it hurt again. I know it isn't due to dryness because I wasn't dry yet still used lots of lubrification to be sure. Hurts to wipe afterwards. I don't want to have sex anymore. Please help.
