I have the same problem as you. The key is not to get the insides of your ears wet it is hard but I have had no pain for a lond time because of it. When you have been swimming or washed your hair if you just dry your ears with a hairdryer. The other thing that has helped me is I am homeaoathic treatment and after that I have had no pain or flare ups so I hope you find this usefull and that you are not alone it is very painfull

I am seventeen years old, I have had constant and recurrent ear infections in both ears for the last eleven years. My ears become blocked with thick sticky fluid which varies in colour from clear to dark brown - it oozes out overnight and often smells quite pungent. I loose hearing in both ears and they are painful to touch. I prevent all water from entering my ears by wearing silicone earplugs. The hearing loss is beginning to affect my ability to concentrate in college and I recently had to do a music exam with both ears completely blocked. The pain and oozing prevent me from sleeping (on bad days I take up to 2500mg of painkillers per day). When there is not pain there is constant itching. Recently I have started to hear a faint but constant whistling. I have had every drop, spray, and cream available (I have even been prescribed nasal cream to put in my ears). After having my ears syringed for the sixth time, I was referred to an ENT specialist who performed numerous 'Micro-Suck' treatments, but nothing can clear the infection for more that around eight days. I know that the infection is in the outer ear, but I'm not sure if there is anything in the inner ear, although a while ago it felt like my Eustachian tube was blocked. Is there anything else that I can do to either get rid of the ear infections all together, or reduce the impact that it has on my hearing?

hi there mark ,ive been bodypiercing for 10 years now, what you have in your ear sounds to me like and build up of soap dust and dirt, very comon in piercings that have no ring or bar though ! when you squeeze it does it look it a white ,storke ? like when you squeeze to crackers together with butter inside lol? if so no panic, wash with antibacterial soap and mix up some mild salt water use a cotton bud to apply .it will never go completely and will fell like a grain of rice in your lobe give it a squeeze very 6 months or so dont break the skin or you will make it very sore

This sounds like you have had an infection, then removed the studs and trapped the infection in between the holes. Get this checked out either by your GP or in a piercing studio in case it forms an abcess.

My ears are constantly sore, they feel blocked and 'full'. sometimes I cannot hear clearly and then the sound suddenly comes normal. it can be distressing. I have allergies to fur, dust and pollen. I have had my tonsils out and the pain has gone from my throat and ears, but has changed to a different pain. Please help my doctor will do no more.

My son has some kind of infection on the outer edge of his ears. It first appeared as white patches when he was hot after exercising, and the rest of his ears was red. It seemed to go away, but now the rash is bumpy with flaky patches of skin, which he finds really itchy. It is becoming more obvious but, unless is is an emergency, I can't get him in to see the GP for 3 weeks. Can you help. He is 8 years old.

Take your hearing aids out for as much as possible, avoid putting other things in your ears. Try not to get your ears wet. Wear a shower cap over your ears when swimming and washing your hair. That's what the doc told me.

I had my ears pierced when I was about 13, they got infected and were very painful so I had to take my earrings out and let them close up. I then had little lumps in my ears. I got my ears repeirced and since I the lumps have got bigger,I am now 17 and the lumps have stayed the same size for years but are still quite big, It just looks terrible and I am really conscious of it i can no longer wear my hair up, I always have my hair don covering my ears, please help!

Maybe when you let them close up some air might have gotten stuck while they were healing? My third holes did the same thing when I let them close up, but not noticeable. This probably isn't the correct answer, but it's just a thought(:

After getting my ears pierced as a teenager keloid scars grew on the back of both my ears. I under went surgery to have them removed, I was lucky as the scars didn't grow back. Just a word of warning - don't try an pierce your ears again - I'm now 25 and have lumps on the back of my ears again. I am currently awaiting assessment from a consultant.

I had itchy ears which run with fluid for about 4 years, I could hear the fluid sloshing around and my outer ear was so sore and scaly. I had the shivers and a headache each time it got really bad. Utterly miserable! I've had antibiotics and various creams from the doctor and ENT specialist but they only worked for a short time. I then bought some diamotaceous earth from suppliers on Amazon, there are a few so make sure you get animal/human grade. It's a white powder that looks like talc. Put it in my ears and they've totally healed in 3 days! Look up this product on the internet, it has many applications for killing bacteria and parasites and is totally natural. It appears to be very similar to an ingredient in Thornit, which causes canker in dogs - look up canker in dogs, these were the symptoms I had. Finally a cure after 4 years!

Hi i was born with a cleft lip & palate, i have always had a problem with my ears, such as ear infections. Over about the last 10/15 years i have had to continually POP my ears by holding my nose and blowing just so that i can hear better. I can do this approx 30-40 times a day. I have spoken to my GP about it but they don't seem to be bothered. It is getting me down and it is embarrassing when i don't hear what someone has said or i have to grab hold of my nose to try and pop my ears. Please help

i have tubular breasts and i am 18. i hadnt heard of them untill i sa them on the show but i knew my boobs were different to what they should be and i used to hide them and be self concious about them because i also have keloids on my ears and i kno hat people can be like but then i realised ill never be able to have surgery to correct them due to having keloids on my ears from having my ears pierced when i was 10, so ive learned to live with them. the way i see it if you dont love who you are and you dont like your body others will pick up on this but if your confident and proud then others will be just as hapy as you are. dont worry about them you are who you are ive learnt to be happy with mine because i cant have surgery due to having keloids on both ears but im happy now i didnt used to be but i am now...

Hi i am a 40yr old woman who has suffered from eczema in my ears for the last 4 yrs, i have tried most ointments, creams and antibiotics and constantly been back and forth to have my ears drained. In the time i have suffered this i have had very little periods of time where my ears are both clear, this is really getting me down and also costing me money as it is ruining all my bedding due to leaking through the night, i would be most grateful if you could advise me in what i could do next.

I have had psoriasis for four years now it is horrible it started on my scalp then spread to my ears and both toe and finger nails. I hate people seeing it especially on my ears, someone once asked me if i had burnt my ear its that bad. Its itchy and constantly flaking i;ve had various creams and shampoos which seemto make it worse I dont know what to do next. My doctor just sends me on my way which is really annoying me. Also my baby is getting it on her ears now, apperently its genetic but nobody in my family before me has ever had it. It is a shame there is yet to be a cure.

It depends really. It is genetic but I developed it before my Dad did! It's just a case of timing really.

Since I met my boyfriend nearly 4 years ago hr has deemed to suffer with his ears in the past year he has been to the doctors on numerous accounts to see about them. He cleans his ears quite often an on the cotton bud is a brown tar like substance which smells disgusting its as though it collects in his ear and if he doesn't clean them regularly if you sit near enough to him you can smell his ear. It also leaks a brownish yellow liquid mostly in the night which goes on his pillow. Not only this his hearing seems to be impaired you can be sat next to him and he cannot hear you he is only 20 I will add and his ears continuously make a crackling noise inside the doctors give him anti biotic which don't seem to help and also ear drops which seem to do nothing. When he went to see the nurse to have his ear suringed he was told there was no need as nothing was wrong with his ears however I fail to believe this as his symptoms persist please help :)

Every few days I use them cotton stick things to clear the wax outta my ears. A lot of the time when people says things I sort of mis hear some words, and find my self saying, "What?", because I didnt hear them properly. Also sometimes I get an aching feeling inside my ears. Slight pain inside both ears.

I get otitis externa fairly frequently and have done for about the past 10 years - especially after a lot of swimming e.g. when on holiday - I now always make sure I wear ear plugs when swimming and I should block my ears when showering and washing my hair.
