I now have excess skin at the top of my arms, legs, and stomach etc. Due to my weight loss, I now have excess skin , I now have folds in my skin, which is extremely sore and painful. Can I get any help with my excess skin? I'm in more pain now due to rashes and sores in my folds of skin that I was before I started loosing my excess weight. I have gone from wearing a ladies size 28, to wearing 18 -20 and still continue on the right road.

Hi there well done for your weight loss,i'm the same as you and have lost 11 stone in 8 months and now i'm in a size 16 to 18 close, which is good. I have applied through my Dr for help with getting the excess skin removed which is about 3 and a half stone. But sadly i have been turned down for NHS help due for there is no funding. I'm disabled and i have been told if i want it removed i will have to pay for it myself, sadly i don't have that kind of money. So sadly for me the excess skin has to stay. Good luck

I am 14 and I sweat frequently. The sweat doesnt smell, I just get large sweat marks under my arms, I can't wear t shirts so i am always covered up with something. and it is really embarassing, I have tried everything but nothing works, what should I do?

Hi I also have suffered with excessive sweating all my adult life. I have tried Driclor on my underarms and have had some success.(I must say that in situations where the wet underarm marks would cause more severe and visible nervous sweating aroound my head, body. The Driclor keeping my armpits dry helps me compose myself quicker and calm my otherwise negative thoughts towards the visibility of facial sweat that would normally cause me to head off in search of somekind of kitchen towel or hand dryer. So in this aspect the Driclor does help. However my sweating is constant irrevelant of outside/inside temperature and has affected too many decisions in my life, and I have avoided too many social activities for me to keep ignoring it. I have two small children and do not want them to miss out on anything socially because of my sweating. I want to try the Pro-Banthiene tablets but was wondering what effects they will have on me. My body obviously has a constant battle to cool itself down, the visual indicator of this is the loss of excess fluid (sweat), so how will I know if my body is overheating if I do not sweat???????? I like many others have encountered very unhelpful GPs with this,(Im very aware of "how healthy it is" to be sweating out my toxins), try doing it even when you're cold and see how healthy YOU feel Doc. Sorry if I have rambled on, just really want to get control of this. Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks Pete.

I am a 16 year old girl who has excess hair leading to my belly button, fortunately it is not as excessive as Anokhi's but it makes me feel extremely self conscious. I am on the contraceptive pill as I heard this can help with cases of excess hair. I was just wondering what pill Anokhi was on, if it was the same as mine and if mine would in fact help my excess hair problem. I am taking Ovranette. Thanks!

This is the exact same problem that I am suffering from. I am a 17 year old girl and I understand how self conscious you are! My excess hair runs in a straight line from the middle/bottom of my breasts down to my belly button. More hair runs to my pubic line but I have shaved from my belly button to that line. I also need help to get rid of this excess hair!! I think shaving will make it look worse. You are not alone!! Please help!

Hi try Driclor. Its a roll-on deoderant that stops you sweating altogether. You can get it in Boots the chemist or other pharmacies. You just put it on in the morning and evening for a couple of weeks then you will only need to put it on every couple of days. Just dont shave your underarms before you apply it! (will sting a bit) I have used Driclor since I was 14 and it has stopped me sweating completely under my arms. Good luck!

is driclor a good idea? your body sweats to get rid of toxins so surely by using this product your body keeps the toxins in? i think you should ask you gp before you use it, you are still young so it could be hormones making you sweat?

Hey Katie, i went through a stage like this when i was your age, im 14 now. all id do is carry deoderant around with you and apply it whenever you need it. i took mine to the toilets and sprayed. i also told my mum and she went out and brought me a mini wash kit that i could take to school and use in the toilets so i didnt feel uncomfterable. it had wetwipes in and tissue and mini deodarant and a mini towel. i took sprays and perfumes, its useful with a little bag to but takes up room. This will stop as you grow up but its a hormones thing.

Go to your doctors and talk them about it. They said I have hyperhydrosis and they put me on this Roll on that contained aluminum chloride to stop me sweating, the only problem with is was if you sweat whilst you have it on it is incredibly painful. I went back to the doctors and they sent me to have Botox injections in my armpits to block some of the sweat glands, I had 25 injections each side, it was really painful but it worked so so well. Go see your doctor!

Hi Rebecca, I myelf suffer from this. I am just a guy at university who is trying to make something of myself but with this issue have been turned away from job to job and I feel like giving up. it seems easier to go on benefits which is sadly frowned apon, only adding to the stress of my life. I try to apply for jobs where its cold, but being selective in this economy is the best way of not getting a job. I didn't spend years at uni and college and school to be stunned into a job that has good aircon. I hope you find a cure, I found the only thing that works for me is to stop eating. in fact I didn't eat for 5 days and felt the cold like I had never. I am always hot too ? I heard that I could be insensitive to gluten and thus that causes me to get hot, so the stopping eating may have cleared my gluten levels, im not sure. I would say to get tested for it but the tests are awful and very inaccurate, instead just cut it out for a month and see if there is a difference. also sage is good for women who sweat, pro banthine bromide tablets are good but with horrific side effects, i.e cant speak and have red eyes all day , even with eye drops. good luck

I am 15 years old and i sweat extreme amounts under my armpits. every single day i have really big noticeable sweat patches that nearly always manage to go through several layers of clothing. the sweating isn't off being to hot because i still get big sweat patches when im freezing. its really really embarrassing because i have to avoid lifting my arms up incase people see. i use anti perspiration every day and my sweating very rarely smells. but its the sweat patches that are effecting me and getting me down. is there any tablets or prescribed medication etc that could reduce or hopefully stop my excess sweating because it would really help me. i dont get sweaty hands or face but occasionally get sweaty feet, but i always get sweat patches under my arms. please please help me. thankyou

hey uhh im 15 as well! i sweat alot evean when the air conditionor is on ... i dont know why but i've gone tto the doctor about it and they've given me this "driclor" its a rollon its got something like 20% alluminium and it seemed to help with smell for me but i still sweat excess amounts. ive tried to do everything i can to stop it ive put tissues there but they fall out aswell, but unfortuneatly i cant sign up for embarrassing boddies because im from south Australia!

Hi I'm 14 but instead of sweating on my hands or underarms, I mostly sweat alot on my face. It can really embarrassing in P.E. when i sweat on my face, i dont even have to be doing anything very pyshical either it could be just walking to class and i can feel my face getting warm. I also sweat quite alot on my armpits as well. I read that sometimes excess sweating can lead to other things so i'm quite paranoid that this could be worse than it is.

I have excess belly hangs over my scar since one of children was delivered by c section. I refused to go naked in front of my patner. I have tried to diet but nothing seems to work. I suffered from Prickly Heat last year for 8 months, but managed to cure it just before going on my honeymoon to Mauritius. I used an antibacterial handwash on my entire body, using a rough sponge in the shower. It is caused by blocked sweat ducts, which happens when yous sweat excessively; and if you have excess bacteria on your skin, they can block the ducts. Also, don't use antiperspirant or oil based products. Try this. :)

Please help my daughter she disabled with ataxic cerebal palsy, hydrocephalus, eplipsy and asthma and is 26yrs old. she is mobile and apears to others as very imature. She has had an excess sweat problem from birth with her feet and hands and during her teenage years it has developed to excess sweating under her arms and body.I have tried every type of anti-persperent on the market and nothing works. I have watched your programme with great interest but the treatments you have used would be unsuitable for her as she get frightned very easily. Both her and myself would be grateful for your help.

My name is claire and I'm 31 at my heaviest I was 27stone 8 pound I'm now 9 stone 11 but my doctor without viewing me under my clothes has said that I need to lose another stone and half to be put forward for any kind of excess skin removal surgery. I want to know if this is true because I believe the excess skin that surrounds my arms, stomach, thighs and especially pubis would have quite a considerable weight and am already displease with the way my ribs and collar bones pertrude. What are the guidelines for GPS to put forward a patient for skin removal surgery. My excess skin is making it difficult to exercise as my skin slaps so violently, I sweat so bad and get irritated in the folds between my thighs and pubis, when I go to the toilet I wee on myself as the excess skin gets in the way. Due to excessive washing to combat the many abscesses I have had on my upper inner thighs I suffer with Bv regularly. Losing the weight has been a loss in my self asteem and confidence. Should my Gp be helping me? Desperate

Firstly ccongratulationsfor losing your weight. They should be supporting you and realise that this is affecting your mental health and hindering your further weight loss because of the sores and embarracement you feel. Unfortunately you may have to bare all to your dr so they can see the sores. Good luck and congrats again for your loss.

I'm 19. I have sweated more than others since I was about 11. I used to get small sweat patches occasionally, but now I sweat under my arms significantly if I'm hot or in public. The thought that I may sweat makes me sweat even more, and the fear of visible sweat means that I have to wear dark clothing. I have tried strong anti-perspirants but all they do is make me sweat more on other parts of my body like my back. What can I do to stop my underarm and body sweating?

Hi, there, I'm 17 and have the exact same thoughts as you, I went to the Doctors last week, she gave me some special anti-perspirant so hopefully that works, but she said the cause was stress because of my exams. Anyway go to the Doctors is my advice, it might be something else that is causing your swweating!! :)

I've got a similar problem to you. I'm 17, and consider myself quite healthy as a runner and healthy food eater. I started having abnormal underarm sweat levels in fifth grade, so the same age as you. I think it stopped for a little while, but over 90% of my life since then has been effected by it. The strangest part is that at a given moment, even if i have not been sweating for almost an hour, if I sit down i begin literally dripping sweat at a constant rate. It occurs at all times of the day, all temperatures, and all mindsets. My advice to you would probably be to try Drysol, a powerful anti-perspirant. I've read positive things about it, and I'm making a point to try it myself. The chemical aluminum chloride hexahydrate is what stops the perspiration.

I mostly sweat under my armpits, yes i sweat when i am warm and when i am cold, but even when im just sitting somewere i sweat a lot and i shower everyday and i still sweat and it sometimes smells. please help?

I am 37 years old and I had have a problem of excess sweating on my back for over 15 years. Whether it is rain or shine, sitting still or just walking normally, I sweat. I have seen a hopital specialist that prescribed a drug with a side effect of reducing sweating, but this did not work. The back of my shirt often shows through sweat and have yet to find a cure. Anyone know of any ideas/cure please let me know as role on deodourants and anti-persperants haven't worked and botox isn't an option apparently.

Hi My wife does not sweat at all, we try to workout together and I can break out a sweat during the warmup. After a fifteen minute jog nothing happens no sweat for her. Why is that? What can she do to sweat. Thanks
