Hi there well done for your weight loss,i'm the same as you and have lost 11 stone in 8 months and now i'm in a size 16 to 18 close, which is good. I have applied through my Dr for help with getting the excess skin removed which is about 3 and a half stone. But sadly i have been turned down for NHS help due for there is no funding. I'm disabled and i have been told if i want it removed i will have to pay for it myself, sadly i don't have that kind of money. So sadly for me the excess skin has to stay. Good luck

I am a 16 year old girl who has excess hair leading to my belly button, fortunately it is not as excessive as Anokhi's but it makes me feel extremely self conscious. I am on the contraceptive pill as I heard this can help with cases of excess hair. I was just wondering what pill Anokhi was on, if it was the same as mine and if mine would in fact help my excess hair problem. I am taking Ovranette. Thanks!

This is the exact same problem that I am suffering from. I am a 17 year old girl and I understand how self conscious you are! My excess hair runs in a straight line from the middle/bottom of my breasts down to my belly button. More hair runs to my pubic line but I have shaved from my belly button to that line. I also need help to get rid of this excess hair!! I think shaving will make it look worse. You are not alone!! Please help!

Hi, I'm 19 and have 36 DD boobs, since having my son I went up to a 38 G. And since my boobs have come back down to a DD they are really sagging, when I lie down in bed they totally droop to the sides, not only do they droop but there is so much excess skin on them, when I where a bra all the excess skin crinkled up, it has already put a strain on my relationship because I won't be naked in front of him anymore. The same has happened with my stomach due to having an emergency C-section. I exercise & exercise but it sags, have lost all my baby weight but it still sags and I have some excess skin, is there anything I can do about this? I really want surgery but can't afford it. Its really making me feel depressed now, I have no self confidence what so ever x

If you go to your GP you can get a cream called Vaniqa. YOu need to apply it twice a day after removing any hairs (leave 5 mins between removing and using cream) Within 4 weeks or perhaps sooner, you should find that hair growth is minimal. However, must continue to use the cream on a twice daily basis. The active ingredient is an enzyme inhibitor. It inhibits the growth of hair.

Hi Rebecca, I myelf suffer from this. I am just a guy at university who is trying to make something of myself but with this issue have been turned away from job to job and I feel like giving up. it seems easier to go on benefits which is sadly frowned apon, only adding to the stress of my life. I try to apply for jobs where its cold, but being selective in this economy is the best way of not getting a job. I didn't spend years at uni and college and school to be stunned into a job that has good aircon. I hope you find a cure, I found the only thing that works for me is to stop eating. in fact I didn't eat for 5 days and felt the cold like I had never. I am always hot too ? I heard that I could be insensitive to gluten and thus that causes me to get hot, so the stopping eating may have cleared my gluten levels, im not sure. I would say to get tested for it but the tests are awful and very inaccurate, instead just cut it out for a month and see if there is a difference. also sage is good for women who sweat, pro banthine bromide tablets are good but with horrific side effects, i.e cant speak and have red eyes all day , even with eye drops. good luck

My daughter had a c-section 2 years ago, and she has put weight on, but is now starting to loose it. She asked to Dr if there was anything that could be done about the excess skin and his reply was loose weight, well won't that add to the excess skin? She has to wear a size bigger than needed in clothes to "tuck" the excess skin in! She's only 20! Someone must know what can be done

I have a similar problem, I became very large around my belly when I was pregnant and she was a big baby, I had an emergency c-section aswell but now have an overhang where the scar is and saggy skin and belly button. I'm 23 and plan on having another one but I'm so worried about how my stomachs will then look. It gets painful where the waist line of my trousers sits on my belly and I get in the top part of my stomach after wearing things like leggings from where they've sank into my belly. My partner isn't bothered by It but I'm so self confident about it, it's almost like I still have baby pouch but she's now 2 years old :( My gp sent me to physio and told me to do Pilates as my stomach muscles tore and needed to bring them together, which is now sorted, but the problem is the overhang :(

Hello, I was just wondering if your GPS has considered polycystic ovaries syndrome. I have suffered from this for 15 years and didn't put on excess weight until after child birth but have always suffered with excess hair and have just been put on metformin to try and help my symptoms also spironlactone can help with excess hair. It will not cure it but will hopefully help the symptoms. I only wish I could have been put on this when I was 20. I have never heard of cold weather causing excessive hair. I wish you luck with your daughter and hope she gets some answers soon.

PCO sufferes have excess hair, mainly on the chin, breast, below the belly button. This is due to an excess of the male hormone. It would be nice if they did a show on Pco and pregnancy.

I'm a 23 year old girl, I have some excess hair on my breasts, bum, armsand stomach, it really gets me down and I don't know what's wrong. I don't have PCOS and can't think of any reason, other than something which may sound silly, but I'm gay and didn't know if it could be excess testosterone?

I am 31 and was diagnosed with PCOS 4years ago after failing to fall pregnant.I already had a daughter from a previous relationship. I suffer with the excess hair, acne, irregular periods, excess weight that is hard to shift and mood swings. My GP has prescribed antibiotics to treat my acne (been on them for 2 months and still not cleared but are slightly better). I have been told that i can't be prescibed any other medication as it would involve fertility drugs (also help with excess hair). I feel very self concious about myself and have low self esteem. Don't feel like you have to give up hope though, i married a year ago and i have had a further 2 children (was very surprised as i fell very quickly!!)so nothing is impossible. I would just like to improve my self esteem and feel that i can only do that once i am happy with my appearance and that means finding treatments for the excess hair and acne. x

My name is claire and I'm 31 at my heaviest I was 27stone 8 pound I'm now 9 stone 11 but my doctor without viewing me under my clothes has said that I need to lose another stone and half to be put forward for any kind of excess skin removal surgery. I want to know if this is true because I believe the excess skin that surrounds my arms, stomach, thighs and especially pubis would have quite a considerable weight and am already displease with the way my ribs and collar bones pertrude. What are the guidelines for GPS to put forward a patient for skin removal surgery. My excess skin is making it difficult to exercise as my skin slaps so violently, I sweat so bad and get irritated in the folds between my thighs and pubis, when I go to the toilet I wee on myself as the excess skin gets in the way. Due to excessive washing to combat the many abscesses I have had on my upper inner thighs I suffer with Bv regularly. Losing the weight has been a loss in my self asteem and confidence. Should my Gp be helping me? Desperate

Firstly ccongratulationsfor losing your weight. They should be supporting you and realise that this is affecting your mental health and hindering your further weight loss because of the sores and embarracement you feel. Unfortunately you may have to bare all to your dr so they can see the sores. Good luck and congrats again for your loss.

I had a baby 10 months ago and had a ventouse delivery and an episiotomy. I had excess scar tissue which was never removed inside that used to be painful to have sex but has gotten easier over time. My vagina looks a lot different now to before then and I was wondering if this was normal to have what appears to be excess skin like a lump on rhe outside going in. Is this just more of the scar tissue?

I have just turned 20 and just finished the end of my first year at a new uni. I have suffered with excess hair all over the body, starting from excess facial hair to hairy arms, hairs around the belly button, more than normal hairs around the vaginal area, and also excess hairs on my feet. I hate it and have tried so many times to rid of them, however no matter what I try I just cant get rid of them. I'm too worried about going to a doctor because I feel like they will just laugh at me, and I cant tell any of my friends as its to embarrising, as my mum has laughed at me before when I have shown her. I recently went to Greece with one other friend and hated it when I couldnt even wear a bikini around the pool because I'm too ashamed of my body. What else can I do? I cant carry on living like this as it depresses me more and more each day that I think about it, and Im just not comfortable with my own body, I just want to live a normal student life and enjoy what I have, but I just cant. Please help me.

Persist! I am 21 and also have PCOS. I am very fair hair luckily but have got excess slightly darker hair on my face, chest and stomach. This has totally knocked my confidence and prevented me from having relationships. I have no body confidence at all. However, it is wrong of your doctor to tell you there is nothing you can do. I am currently having laser treatment at a private clinic as the NHS will not fund it. So far it is working. As for the extra weight I am also struggling with this. I am now taking the pill dianette and feel it is helping slightly but unfortunately it seems for us PCOS girls it is just going to be harder to shift the extra weight. Good luck to you and your husband. Don't let PCOS get you down. Be positive and pro-active. KEEP ASKING YOUR DOCTOR!!
