I used to have milia when i was a child until I was around 13 years old when they started to disappear. I used to be so embarrassed about it and other kids/even my friends made fun of me all the time. I'm 21 now and I'm not sure what happened but they disappeared and I haven't had it for years. Now that I look back, I think they began to disappear after I developed a proper skin care regimen - washing my face twice daily with facial cleanser, occasionally using a facial scrub (once or twice a week), and using a daily facial moisturizer twice a day after washing my face (which I believe is often overlooked -people worry about the greasiness- but I think it is KEY to a nice complexion). My complexion is very clean and even now when before my face used to feel extremely irritated especially around my eyes where the milia was.

Hi, Iam 25 afew years ago I had some kind of infection in my eyes, so I use to rub my eyes. Now I have noticed pigmentation in my both eyelid area, it's quite embarrassing because some people think Iam using eyeliner or something like that. Iam just wondering how to get rid of this pigmentation.

My mother was diagnosed with Blepharospasm about 18 months ago, she has been given injections on a monthly basis. At first they seemed to last about a fortnight. For the past year it has got a lot worse, to be able to see she has to hold her eyelid up, bright lights, sunlight seem to make things worse. My father died in 2009 and her stress level has increased and along with the eye problem. After seeing the programme last night I was wondering is Hypnosis might be a help.

I feel your mother's pain. I've had this condition for about 17 years and now the injections does not seem to work. I also feel like people are laughing at me, but it's not so in this world today we all have something! The Dr. mentioned surgery to me but I'm afraid. If someone have had the surgery please let me know. I'm 67 years old. Thanks.

Does anyone else have a thyroid disorder as well as cervical dystonia? Botox nor Dysport work for me anymore. I've suffered with this for about 10 years now. Up until last November the Botox worked ok. I now try to do aerobics or yoga everyday otherwise I get so stiff I can barely move. I've tried chiropractic which relieved some pain but worsened the spasms.tried 6 sessions of accupunture did not seem to help at all. I take 2 tryhexaphen 2x per day and clonasapam 1tab 2x perday. I feel stoned a lot of the time. Ive tried thousands of $ of New Earth algea tabs because a salesman claims he had blastoma [eyelid spasms) and thisalgea cured him. I've spent between 300- 400 dollars per month for the past 4 month and other than taking away my PMS symptoms they have not helped either. I am now working with a physical-therapist. I am 48 and have a 11 and 13 year old daughter. I pray for a cure but am greatful for everday that I can move around and drive my children to school. Bless you all and stay strong. Remember everything happens for a reason.

I have started getting spasms in my eyelids, that cant be controlled. I have seen my GP, but they think it could just be linked to stress. The thing is I do work daily with computers, and not sure if this contributes to the spasms. Its so annoying, as I lose focus, and it feels like everyone can see it. My next thing to try is have another eye test, although had one last year. They diagnosed Dryitis-excessive dryness of the eyes and lots of blinking. This was when I didnt get the spasms though. I hope does get worse than it is.

Hi, I have had a problem with my left eye since I was born. My left eyelid appears to be attached to my jaw. When I yawn, chew, sometimes just when I talk, my eyelid goes up - a lot higher than my right. It has effected my confidence, I dont like to eat in front of people and although I am sure everyone has noticed it, I never speak about it. I have looked it up on the internet and think it is called Marcus Gunn syndrone or Jaw winking. I have not found out anything about a cure about would be interested to knoe if anyone has has a similar experience?

Hi my name is Owen and i also have marcus gunn, I am now 23 and would love a surgical fix for this

I started with one on my eyelid while I was pregnant with my daughter. It didnt really bother me until last year when another one came on my other eyelid. I tried the garlic, total disaster, my eye swelled up and it was very sore. By this time it consumed all my time. Tried make up to cover them but I was still embarrassed by them so..I tried wartner gel. It stung a bit but nothin like the garlic. Scabbed over for a week but then they were gone. Did one eye at a time. It has left two little whitish scars but nobody can see them with a bit of concealer. If they come back I wouldnt hesitate to do it again. Thank god for wartner.

I tried the wartner last year it actually did take the yellow plaque away so I started to use the dermacolor and fixing powder to blend the small scars that were left. Personally I don't recommend garlic tried it it just burnt my eyelids and took ages to heal. If you use the wartner be very careful I used a cotton bud to apply it so not to get it direct on your eyelid or in your eye only to get it on the xanthelasma.

I purchased the Wartner Gel pen and have not Used it yet because all the instructions are in a different language (not English). Do you mind sharing how you applied, how long you left it on, did you wipe off, etc. This would really help me for the application process.

Hi can you please tell me how you used the partner and for how long? Thanks

The wartner comes in a tube like a little pen. I just twisted the tube so a little drop came out and applied it to the xanth. It went white. Did it twice a day for a few days and it started to peel. It was sore for a day or so then just scabbed like a spot. When healed it just looks like a little white scar which is easier to cover with makeup. I dont know about anyone else but the xanthy yellow colur was alot harder to conceal. I wouldnt hestitate to use it again but please do be very careful with it being so close to your eyes. I feel very sorry for people with these they are horrible and embarrasing. People say they dlnt notice them but really I bet they do, just darent ask you. I find myself looking for them on everyone but only seen two others with them. Good luck if you decide to try the wartner.

Hi everybody!, I have been enjoying all of your comments so please keep posting them. I am skeptical that the garlic method could work with my "fatty eyelids." I advise everyone to seek professional medical attention for addressing one's xanthelasma condition. Please don't squeeze or apply harsh chemicals to your delicate skin; you may cause injury to your self! I look forward to the day soon when I can visit the local dermatologist in Hilo for a consultation about my xanthelasma disfiguration. Early this year, 2012, a anthelasma lesion appeared on each of my top eyelids on the inside areas near my nose. The one on my left eyelid looks like a streak of fatty tissue under the skin lighter in color than the rest of the eyelid. The lesion on my right eyelid is shorter but a little more pronounced or puffy in appearance sort of like hammered metal and slightly yellowish in color. I feel self-conscious about these "spots" because they are fairly noticeable. I'll post an update after I see a skin specialist when I decide how I will pay for it because I do not have a health care plan at age 52. I'll just have to become more creative.

Hello I am 24 years old, I have a suprapubic catheter which I have had for nearly 1 year and have fowlers syndrome . I have reacurrent UTI and bladder spasms etc, and I take oramorph for pain almost daily. I feel secluded and lonely and like the only person in the world with this syndrome. My gp does not know how to treat the condition I have because it is so rare, I hardly see my consultant and the only professional I do see is my incontinence nurse who changes my catheter every 8 weeks . I am currently off sick from work at the moment due to the agonising pain from the bladder spasms . Scared of losing my job all because of this deliberating syndrome! ..

Hi, since the birth of my son 6 yrs ago, I have had same issues. Retention, over active bladder and painful bladder syndrome caused by nerve damage during delivery.. I have to self catheterise, and spend most of my life in the toilet it seems. Even going on public transport stresses me... has your doc suggested sacral nerve stimulation? I am currently on a trial, if successful permenant device will be implanted. I hope something can be done to help you soon.. 6 years ive had this and it consumes your life. Ask to see urology specialist and ask about sns xx

Hi Tracy, I have been out for the SNS but it will take a long time as waiting list is long. Are we classes as disabled or have a disability as we are incontient?

I am so happy to see that i'm not the only one for whom the symptoms happen when I lay down. My neurologist said he'd never seen a case like mine where the spasms and twisting actually occurs when any part of my head or neck touches anything. My symptoms started in feb 2014 and they progressed very quickly and I was diagnosed with cervical dystonia in feb 2015. I have been prescribed a non addictive sleep aid called zoplicone 7.5mg, so no more laying there for hours in agony with neck spasms, until the exhaustion sets in to finally fall asleep. This drug leaves a bad taste in your mouth the next day until you get use to it. No day after groggyness. I just had my second round of botox which stopped the twisting but the muscles still contract and stiffen when I lay down. I also find sitting in a soft chair triggers the spasms. He assures me that the symptoms will decrease with every treatment. I must say that not being able to lay down and watch a movie or even lean my head on my husband's shoulder is frustratin. But after reading all the ways that cervical dystonia affects people's daily lives makes me feel like it could be worst.

Hi i am a 23 year old single mum and have had bells palsy for 3 months now, i was diagnosed as far as im aware 40 hours after onset and given predniselone steroids. At present i still grind my teeth and talk a little funny although my smile looks 'normal' if i don't show too much teeth. However my left eyelid still wont close and my vision is worsening by the day. I have eye drops and gel lubricant as i still have to tape my eye up at bedtime. I havent left the house since i am getting really down and cry alot and my 2 year old is suffering also due to boredom of always being indoors which isnt good for anyone. Is my eye going to get better, since reading previous posts where a girl had to use a tens machine to help nerves function again or get an operation on the eyelid, i am really really worrying. Its already dipped my confidence to an almighty low and i cant take anymore.PLEASE HELP!!

Hi ya, I had my first attack of Bells Palsey and unfortunately was told to go home and there was nothing they could do (this was when I was 21, now 43), since then I massaged my face daily, which really helped as well as doing facial exercises. I have had two further attacks since and was then prescribed the same steriods, which really helped. I am under a nurologist now to find out why i get reoccurring symptons, but I also notice that i have good days as well as bad , everyday is different and I get a pain in my shoulder which can also make my face feel weak, should find out in August. Anyway I brougght a Tuo Visio handheld machine, which shoots micro current waves into the skin..........Best thing I ever brought, it cost £200 but well worth. You can take it on holiday, very handy to have. I have also been told that if you get the feelings that it may be happening again, (stress can cause it by the way), is to take 800mg of Ibuprofen. )Please check with your GP, that you are ok to do this !) and stay calm and believe me it works! my eyebrow is still paralised but hey thats saves on botox. I do appriciate how it knocks your confidence, but hold your head up things will improve. massarge everyday!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!! Ive had mine for 3 years now, it's like I'm almost healed, I don't suffer from extreme spasms anymore, their very mild but still very uncomfortable to deal with, plus there's always that leakage that comes with those spasms, and that just gets annoying and it won't stop until I take 2 Ibprobhen to kill the pain. I've been on Nitro but now that you've posted this, I literally just scheduled an appt with my Gastro and I'm going to make them give me this new cream!! I really hope this works, I am so over this fissure. Seriously thank you for commenting, Id never heard of this Diltiazem before and I just did some research on it, it looks promising. If this stuff works, I'll feel like you saved my life! I was seriously crying the other day because I'm just getting so frustrated with having it for so long. thank you again! ...If i can remember, after I try the cream, i'll come back and let you know if it worked for me!!

i am 43 and i have had abdominal pain for over 2 years. Un-diagnosed at ER visits, that included CT scans and ultra sounds. They sometimes would tell me I have an ovarian cyst. The past several months the pain has been so bad, I literally thought I was dying. It is swful. I went to a doctor that told me about vagina spasms and musles of the pelvic floor, some abdominal muscles.. etc.. that go into spasms and lock up and cause very bad pain. This can cause the ligaments and tendons that attatch to the uretha and bladder to pull on the uretha and bladder and cause continued bladder infections and also irritation and/or infection of the uretha. I have to use some dispositories with medicine from a compund pharmacy to hyelp stop the spasms. I am getting physical therapy. Like when we have back pain and musles have spasms in the back or neck etc. The same thing. It triggers pain and it radiates to other areas. I know when I get stressed right now it makes all my pelvic musles go into spasms. It's like people get headaches when stressed etc. Same thing. I may also have some colon stuff going on. It is very hard to tell. I am going to do a colon test I hope soon to rule that out or fix something. But when I am peaceful and my physical therapy is flowing .. I was doing much better. Right now I am sick again. bad pain. On antibiotics for bladder infection again. But when I go to doctors and tell them I don't feel good they do a urine and tell me I'm fine, but with in a few days to a week I get a call from the doctor the the culture grew out and I was right.. I have a bladder infection. It sucks. Its painful and confusing and I am sick of meds. The say that if the uretha is being pulled by the ligaments and muscles being tight it can cause the uretha to stay open there fore causing infection to happen. Anything anyone has to add to help me I would be greatful.. anyone who my story helps.. I'm glad
