Hi I am a 46 year old female who started having an extremely High (fowl) smell when I urinate. I noticed that this happened after I had a bout of high fever episodes every 2 weeks for about 5 months (Jan 2011-May 2011)and the doctors kept giving me anti-bio-tics to treat me for UTI when I didn't have any of the symptoms. Eventually I became so sick and deathly looking I was hospitalized for 5 days. After being discharged I realized my urine had a smell (which is very unusual for me). I've been going to different doctors they all give me an anti-biotic but the fowl smell gets more worse. It's very embarrassing when I use the bathroom. At home my husband always have a supply of bleach for after I use the bathroom. It's so confusing also because at times my urine is clear and that fowl smell just don't seem right. They never really told me what was causing the days of fever either. Can you please help me? PS I started having the fever from Jan 25 2011. It would go down the week I'm on the anti-biotics and once the dosage is finished it would return the following week. that went on until May 2011 when the fever didn't want to go down my complexion changed and the doctor decided instead of giving me the drips and sending me home they hospitaziled me. Jessica
Are you going to hospital all this time or are you with your local Doctor??.. I find when I go to hospital, they treat you and you dont get that one to one full explanations.. If you do have a local doctor in this scenario, ask him to explain the reports or get report sent to him, so he can monitor you and explain better.. From there a closer one to one situation forms as it seems your not out of the woods yet and you need this..If you dont have a local Doctor in this, perhaps go to one and explain what has occurred and the on going issues.. 46 is very young still and yes you would want this sorted.... start asking questions
Women around peri and post menopause should check online for the 32 symptoms of menopsuse. There are alot of things caused by the decrease in hormones and there are more hormones than progesterin and estrogen, I haven't researched them, yet.

Hi im 18 and female. And I have only ever had sexual relations with men who have been tested for STIs and are in the clear and I have not changed my sexual partner for a year and 7 months. However I went to my GP a week ago and said I have suspected glandular fever and tonsillitis and gave me antibiotics for the tonsillitis but I had to go back and change them twice because of the side effects I had from them. This morning I woke up and thought my vagina felt a little sore and I had white blisters around the opening later today I checked and several had burst and gone a browny colour. I have only had sexuall relations with clean tested people and I haven't changed my sexual partner in over a year so I cant have an STI can I because there isn't anywhere I could have caught it from? Is this a part of glandular fever? More side effects to all the different antibiotics I have been given? What could have caused this? I cant get to my GP for another three days and I am quite worried about this so I need some answers before I go to my GP. HELP!
I've been told herpes is only tested for if it's active and, as it is asymptomatic in a large percent of people, many people never know they have it. I don't know about the glandular fever side of things.

I'm 17 years old and I have white spots in the back of my throat but I've had my tonsil taken out when I was 5. I've had a fever the past two days.

I had my tonsils out 5years ago after years of suffering and a bad couple of months with Glandular Fever. However, part of one tonsil has grown back. Can this be removed again to stop it getting infected again and again?
I have a whitish looking spot on my left tonsil and it's swollen as well. It hurts terribly when I swallow and along with that I have a fever and I ache all over. Should I continue to gargle with salt water or do u think I should go to the emergency room?
Hi Kate, I have the exact same thing. My tonsils look like a plasters radio with the amount of white spots over them (mainly the right ride though) and it is very very difficult to swallow to the point I have been opting to gob into a pot rather than swallow the saliva my mouth is producing. I rang NHS Direct who advised me to go to A&E ASAP (I think this was cautionary because I havent been eating or drinking much at all and they were worried I would dehydrate further). When I went to A&E, the Nurse on reception turned her nose up at me as if to say I had wasted their time going there for Tonsilitis. The Treage Nurse was a lot more sympathetic though and gave me a referral form to see the out of hours GP. I went, they confirmed it was Tonsilitis and prescribed me anti biotics to help clear it up. I am taking ibuprofen to help with the swelling and co-dydramol to help with the pain relief but speak to your GP who wil tell you what is best for you to take and in what doseage.
Hi I'm 19 and every time I come on my period the first day I'm really sick to the point where I'm throwing nothing up. The pain is really bad that every little sound I hear annoyes me. I can't keep anything down I can't eat or even have a glass of water but I throw it up so tablets is a no I also get like cold swets like a fever. I just want to know if this is normal because I've been having it for such a long time now.
Hi, I'm 18 and when my periods are really bad an painful I'm also like this. It's not normal and I've gone to my doctor and been put on "the pill" to help regulate my periods and combat the pains. They've had to try me on a few different types but it's working and helping me so much. I'd recommend going to your GP and telling them about your experiances as this could also help you.
