  • Flesh Eating Bug

Necrotising fasciitis, a nasty flesh eating bug, is a serious condition that requires immediate and urgent medical attention. Read more →

I am 22 years old and have been sexually active for a number of years. However, where my labia comes together towards the bottom of the vagina is actually around the urethral opening rather than the vaginal opening, and so I have a section of stretchy flesh over both the urethral and vaginal openings. This means that in order for anything to be inserted into the vagina it has to go in the entrance of this flesh (by the urethra), be pushed backwards towards the vagina, then pushed up into the opening. This causes pain during sex as the penis rubs on this flesh a lot and I lose tampons on a regular basis. I also have an enlarged and asymmetrical labia. Does anyone else have anything like this? Might I need to have surgery?

Starting yesterday after mildly violent diarrhea, I've noticed a small "bubble" of flesh sticking out of my rectum, I've tried a few times to push it back in, but it always comes back out. It's mostly just discomfort, no bleeding or anything of the sort, but I'm very worried as to what's happening. Is there a way to fix it? Will it go back in by it's self after my next bowl movement? (I haven't been eating much at all this no movements since.

See above answer or look for information on Hemorrhoids, a varicose or enlarged vein protruding from your anus. Quite common after a nasty bout of diarrhea, constipation, or childbirth. As stated, try soaking in a warm bath or using one of the over the counter creams or ointments for temporary relief. See your doctor, and the two of you can decide how to treat this.

It's difficult to tell if you're describing normal body parts, or if there's an abnormal lump of some kind. If what you're describing has developed recently, or if it's causing you discomfort, it would be a good idea to have a doctor look at it. Otherwise, I think that learning more about genital anatomy would help put your mind at ease. Wikipedia's articles on the vulva, labia, and clitoris could be very helpful. There are also educational sites like the-clitoris.com that might help. I suggest you look at one of the labelled vulva images on one of those pages, and use a hand mirror to make sure that you can identify the labelled structures on your own body. I get the sense that the upper bump is your clitoris, and the lower bump could be a hymenal remnant, which are both normal, but I'm not sure if my guesses are correct. Have a look at some labelled images or diagrams, and see what you think.

i am 16, i have a boyfriend and i have been sexually active for about 6months. i am on the pill and on my last period i had a small piece of flesh in it. i went to the doctors and changed my pill but i am now on my period again and i had flesh in my period that was about the size of a mobile phone but very thin, and darker than my normal period, but also pink and fleshlike in places. i am really grossed out and worried about being infertile, is it normal?

I also suffer from HS, but my condition is getting worse. I have been on antibiotics on numerous occasions and I am due to get the lesions surgically removed from under my arms. The difference with mine is that when they do burst, the skin around that area is soft and weak due to the strain of the build up of puss underneath. So, when the lesions do finally burst, a chuck of flesh hangs out from the opening. Now I have two small chunks of flesh hanging out from under each arm and I am really concerned. It will greatly increase my risk of acquiring further infection and also causes hygiene issues. Is there anything you would recommend? I have tried silver from the GP to help close the wound but nothing to date has worked effectively.

Australian Tea Tree oil wash. QVC sell this in litre bottles - quite expensive but can be diluted. This not only is an antiseptic wash - but stops the nasty niffs too.

thas exactly like mine its like something eating your flesh away its quite upsetting,i do bath using tea tree oil to try and keep it clean as mine is constantly drainning with puss,my gp has tried aquacel with me its a seeweed lint stuff and apparently its supposed to heal the holes that this skin complaint is leavingxxi have been suffering with this since the age of 14 im now 43 and a specialist did say smoking dosent help itxx

Hi all, ive had this thing sticking out of my vaginal opening, its round-ish and about 2cms long, like a tube but its just all flesh, i dont feel anything when its touched. I suspected that is was just my hymen, and ive read that your hymen can break even if your a virgin (which i am). But then i read that the remnants of the hymen are usually found on the bottom of the vaginal opening and this piece of flesh is protruding out of the top, i checked the bottom and there was another, smalle piece there too, is it normal to have 2 pieces of the hymen at both ends of the opening or should i be worried??

I suggest you see your Doctor. What you're describing sounds a lot like a prolapse and what you are seeing is infact your cervix. The cervix itself has no nerves, so you don't feel anything when it's touched, that's why I think it's your cervix and what is concerning me. One of two things will happen, either I'm right or I'm wrong, either way you will know for certain what's wrong and get proper treatment if necessary.

Hi, Im a young female who has great difficulty using tampons, to the point I've been unable to use them. The only way i can describe it is that there is not enough room, ive tried everything and every type! I fear my attempts may have caused some damage now however. Recently, when removing the partially inserted tampons, a piece of flesh has appeared at the opening. It can sometimes appear blue/black at different stages of my cycle, and is about 0.5-1cm long. For about six hours after this happens, sitting down can be quite uncomfortable and within 24 hours the flesh appears to disapear again, though this time seems to be getting longer. Its as though part of the inside of the vigina is turning inside out. (The visual and physical pain of this is also making me terrified of sleeping with someone!) I was treated for an imperforate hymen about six years ago, and I'm also currently a virgin, should this information be relevant. Thanks

I'm 13 years old and I have PCOS. I have excessive hair on my body and can't seem to get away with it. I'm bullied and I am trying to stop eating. (I am eating one meal a day) I wish my life would just end so I don't have to deal with this. What do I do?

You need to see a doctor. You are just starting puberty and would likely be best to deal with this sooner than later as you may have pcos. If you are diagnosed with pcos then treatment should help. Without help it will only get worse. I've had pcos since I was a teen and it went undiagnosed and untreated for a very long time so get it checked out and do your research, good luck.

Gracie, don't stop eating, please. It won't help and you'll just feel worse. You need to eat to stay healthy. Stopping eating will only cause you more pain. I know it's difficult. I've been in the same situation for years. (I've never gotten rid of all my body hair) I know it hurts to be bullied, and your feelings are completely understandable.Do you ever talk about it to anyone? Maybe your parents or an older sibling? They might have experienced the same thing, and even if not, they love you and can help. There are other people who feel like you out there, and others who love people who look like you do. They may not be as easy to find as those bullies, but they're there. I know this might not seem helpful, because I'm a stranger, but you ARE good enough. Anyone who makes you feel otherwise has their own problems, and their bullying might even be about their own insecurities. I know from experience that some people will genuinely like you for who you are, and I've met people who didn't mind my hair at all. And you should know, that your hair is ten times more noticeable to you than it is to everyone else, because you hate it. Please don't give up now. Life can be amazing. You have it in you to be happy. You can choose to be happy, despite what other people may think. The first step is to love yourself. Start on the inside. That means: eat healthy, eat food you love too, and do something kind for others. Be a good friend. Be the sweet person you are. Once you start loving yourself, you won't want to give up. P.S. I don't know in which country you live, but if the treatment for PCOS is too costly for you, consider talking to your parents or an aunt or uncle, or someone who might be able to help you---moneywise or with moral support.

You are beautifully created by God. God created us in HIS on image. Do not let ignorant people bring you down. They don't know any better. They lack education and only see the outer appearance of a person and not the inner person. I struggle too wuth unwanted hair and too have been bullied because of it. I know though that there is a GOD in heaven who has created me beautifully and HE loves me. We are HIS children. GOD loves you too and you are special.

Well, I've never had my nipple peirced, although since it's a flesh peircing and there's a tunnle made through delicate flesh - it can sometimes trap in infections. You should perhaps see a good peircing artist, or maybe the doctors. I was told about infections still being stuck inside healed up peircings, like yours, wheny I got my eyebrow done. Although.. It could be something else, but it seems more likey to be caused by the hole in the flesh to still have stuff in it. It can do this even in just ear lobe peircings, like just with studs, and to swell up from putting even some clean earings in, after leaving it for ages. See if someone else answers this or comments about nipple peircings, though, since I've never had one done myself and this isn't from actual personal experience.

Sometimes when I am eating I have the same problem. I can start eating but then very quickly want to be sick and have to stop eating immediately to avoid this. I feel I psychologically but myself off the foods that I am eating as I am very particular when it comes to food about hygiene. I tried to avoid negative thoughts whilest eating and keep my mind distracted on something else. Hope this helps.

So ive noticed that in alot of these pictures, there seems to be loose flesh hanging out of the vagina, whether its the clitoral hood, or a sign of lost weight, im unsure... but I dont have anything like that. Im 27 and about 80kg and I have 2 questions.... 1. Is this loose flesh something that comes with age or higher sexual activity levels?? And 2. My pubic mound above my vagina is rather fleshy, and um convinced that its excess fat. Ive always been a very large girl and have lost about 35kgs in the last 8 months through excercise and dieting, but is there any way that I can lessen some of the size of that area?

Are you talking about the labia minora? The lips on either side of the vagina? Those lips are different for everyone, just like the lips on your face. As far as the pubic mound goes, I don't know about that- but you can google around and find things to help shrink the fat if you want. I'm pretty sure you can't get rid of fat in one area of your body-for example I've had friends who have lost weight...but first off they did it in their breasts and butts.

Many women have folds of skin in their vulva in addition of the inner labia. It is quite normal. No need to worry. You can find reassurance on this point (and other points) from Emma who runs the website largelabiaproject. There is nothing wrong in having a prominent pubic mound. Best to leave it alone.

there's only one way to do it thats eating a good diet . i mean eating no sugary foods not even one piece . trust me it works try eating alot of oranges .good luck :)

yes the doctor absolutely can help - you'll need to be referred to an eating disorder specialist. most GP's dont really know a lot about eating disorders. i cant say if your family would be disappointed in you but everyone else i know with an eating disorder their family have just been upset that they've been struggling in silence. please get help - this is no way to live. laxatives especially can cause all sorts of very embarrassing problems in the long term, please look into it. there are any amount of eating disorder forums on the internet and there are all sorts of horror stories about laxative abuse. its really not pleasant. be safe x

I also would like to have a show just on eating disorders in particular bulimia and compulsive binge eating and how to get help on the NHS. I have suffered with an eating disorder since the age of around 7 when I would over eat compulsively and then developed bulimia at the age of 16 / 17. I am 35 now and this problem is killing me slowly mentally. I have tried therapy but talking about it doesnt help me stop completely. HELLLLPPP!!!

I know exactly how you feel as I now need to pass wind constantly after eating, within 5 mins of eating anything I pass foul smelling wind which I try to hold in. This has been the case for the past year after I caught a tummy bug. Before that I hardly ever passed wind. I am so worried that I am going to pass wind in Public especially as I have to attend so many meetings at work. I sometimes avoid eating if I know I have a meeting coming up. All food types set it off like clockwork apart from drinking water or peppermint tea and it will go on for a couple of hours after eating. Does anyone have any suggestions that may help?

I had this problem, and read somewhere that eating cheese caused tonsil stones, so I experimented and stopped eating cheese. Once I stopped eating cheese, no tonsil stones appeared and I did not suffer bad breath. I tried eating cheese again, and the stones reappeared along with bad breath. Conclusion, STOP EATING CHEESE. Perhaps, it not just cheese alone.

please do go and see the doctor - your parents dont need to know. eating disorders are so difficult to get over by yourself. all the symptoms you're describing are absolutely common in people with eating disorders. something else you can look into is beat (www.b-eat.co.uk) they're very non judgmental and can help a lot in pointing you towards useful groups for support. please reach out to someone - eating disorders are horrible things.

I have suffered with HS for about 12 years now. As for many, my diagnosis came quite late - approx 3 years ago. I am probably a stage 1 - stage 2 sufferer so a lot better off than some for which I am truly thankful. My HS has calmed down SIGNIFICANTLY over the past 2 years due to two things: 1. I stopped eating meat. I did not stop because of the HS but I have noticed that since I no longer consume flesh, my HS has calmed down a lot. 2. For the past year or so I have been using HIBISCRUB (available at Boots). This is an antimicrobial handwash usually used by sugeons for pre-op washing. I use every day religiously (twice if it's very hot) on affected areas. I ran out whilst on holiday and did not use any for about a week and noticed a REAL difference. Obviously not a cure but over time, this really seems to help keep things calm. Best wishes to all fellow sufferers

I've managed to lose 7 stone over the past 2 years, I now weigh about 13 stone and I'm finding it almost impossible to lose anymore weight. I managed to lose the weight through eating sensibly and exercise but now my eating has gone out of control. I keep binge eating almost every day at every opportunity - I tell myself it won't happen the next day but I just can't stop eating when I get home from work. I'm starting to put weight on now which I find so depressing but for some reason I just can't get back into the disciplined diet and exercise regime I had before - it made me feel great about myself and so healthy where as binge eating is a quick fix but for some reason I just can't stop. I really need some help - I don't want to put on the weight I worked so hard to lose and I still need to lose more.

I'm not a doctor, but there is a YouTuber named "freelee the banana girl" who talks about how she initially lost her period eating raw food diet and how it returned now and is very light and no longer painful. She believes the pains and even the flow can be affected by diet - she saw a decrease in flow and a loss of pains (as mentioned before) based on diet, especially (in that she was eating a high-fruit diet - "80/10/10") lessening the amounts of fats she was eating. She saw a direct link between the amount of fat she was eating and the pain/heaviness of her period. Look her up for more info.
