Dude i had the exact same problem, i thought it was normal at first then realised something was not right when i had sex without a condom. You will have to see a doctor and they will refer you for a full circumcision or another type which removes the web that attaches the penis and foreskin. I had the web removed but still have the same problem and am waiting to have the full removal. It doesn't hurt much they put you to sleep and it's all done within a day and full recovery will take roughly 1-2 weeks unless you go for the full shabang which takes a little longer. I hope this post has shed a little light

I'm 26 and my foreskin doesn't retract when I'm erect. I don't think it's phimosis as I have no problem pulling it back manually with no discomfort, but when I let go it just covers it up again. Looking at photos of other penises for comparison, I have to say I have a large foreskin that hangs over even when erect. When I have sex it's only semi pleasurable at best (I guess because I'm only feeling my foreskin). Is there anything I can do to get it to retract or is my only option circumcision?

I have to use a word that is not exactly proper, but it is the only way to explain the actual name of the object. There are leather "cock rings" which actually go under around your testicles and penis. They have different sizes and most are adjustable with snaps to make the ring tight or loose. There are also black rubber cock rings. I think if you pulled your foreskin back, then put on the cock ring it might hold the foreskin back. There is also one that is not just a ring but has a strap to separate your balls. This type MIGHT hold it back better because it is held in place by the extra strap. I think it is called a cock ring and ball separator. I guess you can find these things on line, but adult sex shops sell them also. You will have to experiment with sizes, but remember, this is not to go ONLY around your penis, but under and around testes and penis. I think it would work.

So my problem is I have recently come to notice tht my foreskin cannot retract apart from a couple of millimetres around the tip it's starting to become quite a big worry as me and my girlfriend are wanting to have sex however this has put me off I don't know whether it will be painful or not I have tried to retract my foreskin but it is very tight. I really need some help and advice, thanks

im 16 and when i get an erection my foreskin doesn't retract all the way; its still loose, and i can pull it back easily, but it doesnt stay there or anything. it doesnt hurt, but i was wondering if it was normal? my foreskin will retract to about 1/3 of the way down.

Hey im 16 and i had the same problem at your age just keep stretching for about 4 weeks and you should notice it become looser :)

I had something like that until early in my teens. It just peeled away in time. If it just stays stuck you might want to show it to your doctor anyway.

I don't know whether it's normal or not but I thought I'd ask just in case. I'm able to retract my foreskin when I'm flaccid, and can retract it when I am erect too, however sometime it becomes 'pinned' behind my head. When this happens I have to either pull my foreskin down which can hurt sometimes to release it, or wait until I start to return to flaccid and pull it back then. Is there anything that can be done for this?

Please email me back! I have a problem retracting my foreskin, I can't finally retract it when flaccid, but there is no chance that I can retract it when erect, I have been doing stretching techniques for the last 2 years but I am still in able to retract my foreskin, i read something about this on the nhs website and it said the foreskin should separate from the glands around the age of 2, my foreskin is 100% attached to my glands and this is causing me pain when trying to retract it. Other things I have noticed is that because I can't really retract my foreskin, it can cause an odour which I presume is caused by urine? Please help! Thanks

Yes, the process of the foreskin separating from the glans and gaining the ability to retract fully can take years. If you can't retract your foreskin and it bothers you by the time you're eighteen you can go to a doctor and you usually will be prescribed a steroid cream to help your foreskin retract. It is perfectly normal for you to have a foreskin that you cannot pull back completely at your age. You have no need to worry.

Hello, im 16 years old and i cannot retract my foreskin ever my penis flaccid or erect, i have never been able to do this. How can i get my foreskin to retract without having a full circumsision? And is there any creams or surgery that can help the skin to retract without losing my foreskin entirely? (sorry if i come across ignorant) Thanks

There are several possibilities about why you cannot retract your foreskin: 1) adhesions; 2) phimosis; 3) pin-hole phimosis; 4) frenulum breve. Check out this web-site and see if any of these fit for you. http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki/Tight_Foreskin In answer to your question about not having a full circumcision, yes, that is possible. Rather than doing a full circumcision a small slit in your foreskin without removing any tissue might be possible, but you should discuss the various options with your doctor and see which one is right for you.

After urinating, try and slowly retract your foreskin, but do not retract it to the point of serious pain. It will be uncomfortable at first, but eventually the foreskin will become more elastic. Do not retract the foreskin when it is dry, as you risk damaging the structure of the penis permanently, which can make it very difficult for you to get an erection. Contact your GP if there is no improvement after three months.

for all you teenagers who cannot retract their foreskins, please don't worry. lots of men who have phimosis (tightening of the foreskin) can live normally with it. i am 15 and was not even able to retract the foreskin so that it showed the glans!!! But with persistence i have worked hard retracting and stretching the foreskin and can finally fully retract my foreskin over the glans. when stretching do not do it until it becomes unbearable this can cause injury. But i hope this helped

I'm 16 and just had sex for the first time but I couldn't retract my foreskin over the head of my penis, I can only pull it down very slightly to uncover the tip of it. After having intercourse, I found that an area of my foreskin had torn and I'm worried that it might become infected as I can't retract my foreskin enough to wash it when erect or flacid. Is there any way to strech my foreskin so I don't have this problem?

Hi I'm 15-years-old and I have a question regarding my foreskin. The thing is I don't think there's enough of it (that may sound rather weird - I'm not circumcised for the record), when I'm erect the "head" of my penis becomes rather large, it's gotten to a size where it looks as if it's desperate to burst out of my foreskin. I don't think it's retracting properly. When I'm semi-hard I'm able to retract it myself, however when I'm fully erect the foreskin doesn't retract and if I try to retract it myself by pulling down on it it's awfully painful. Is this normal? It's just that every image I seen of an erected penis the foreskin retracts properly, it's even retracts on my boyfriend. He can glide through masturbation very easily, retracting his foreskin down very easily without pain and then pulling it back up. I'm just a bit worried that's all. Does my foreskin not retracting mean I need circumcision? That my penis has yet to grow more and that my foreskin will retract when it's ready (I haven't long started puberty and the average penis grows until your late teens early 20's if I stand correct?)

hey does yours retract at all? because my foeskin doesnt go past my glands, it gets to the edge and thats it; it doesnt go any further. If this is the case then dont worry i have the same problem, but i would also like to find out if it can be resolved bystretching it or something!? :)

When I'm flaccid it retracts fine with no problems, but when I'm erect that's when I start having the problems. It'll retract about half way down the "head" of my penis if I pull it and there's no pain. When it gets to about half way it starts to really hurt and I strain to pull it down any further. That's what I want to know as well, whether it can be resolved, whether I need circumcision or whether it's because my penis is still growing and that my foreskin will retract normally when it's ready.

I can not retract my foreskin over the head of my penis but also have a lot of excess foreskin. I think that because of this, the excess foreskin tightens and will not allow me to retract it. It can sometimes smell unhygienic after 2 day of not showering but I really wouldn't want to have a circumcision. Please give me a few things I could do

Be gentle with it Steve. Try taking warm baths regularly, as this will soften the skin. Gently try retracting the skin in the warm water and wash the tip as best you can. After a few months of this you should have more movement as it will stretch. Make sure after washing you pull the skin forward again.

There are several potential reasons why your foreskin doesn't retract properly: 1) adhesions; 2) phimosis; 3) frenulum breve. The fact that you are having difficulty maintaining good hygien and experiencing pain suggests that you have an infection under your foreskin. You need to see a urologist to get some help. The main things you need to say are, "I can retract my foreskin and because of that I can't wash under there and now my glans is hurting."

I am 15 nearly 16 and i cant retract my foreskin back behind the head of my penis. I have a few friends which have this problem but when i try to retract my foreskin errect or flacide it hurts and i am unable to do so.

i'v had this recently and i got circumsided, lets just say my sex life has improved dramtically

I found that it was easier to do when I was about 17 rather than 15. You need to see a doctor to see whether you need to get circumcised, or if it will just happen on its own, or if there's something else that will help.

i'm 17 and my foreskin doesn't retract over the head of my penis - is this normal for my age? and is there an average age of when the foreskin DOES begin to retract?

NO! your penis is supposed to be connected to the foreskin, the tight bit of skin you noticed is called the frenulum (i assume thats the bit you noticed), this must remain intact. if you cannot retract your foreskin past the glans (head) you have phimosis - you can stretch your forskin open over time, keep trying to retract your foreskin. i had phimoses up to the age of 16, i just worked on it and i got rid without the need of an operation.

I can fully retract the foreskin when erect with a bit of discomfort, does the foreskin have to retract fully without pain to have unprotected sex or can it still be done with the foreskin over the glans of the penis?

Hi, for all you guys who cannot retract ur foreskin there are a number of options. You can either leave it be if it isnt causing you any pain, discomfort when having sex or is affecting hygiene, many men have tight foreskins and live quite happily with it. You can also get circumcised, but that isnt for everyone. Or u can stretch the foreskin so that it can be retracted although this needs to be done extremely careful and slowly otherwise the foreskin can become trapped behind the glans and need medical attention. Small tears can also occur on the foreskin while stretching. My advice would be to go see your GP. That is exactly what i did and i can now fully retract my foreskin. My GP gave me some cream to stimulate skin growth and told me to gently stretch the foreskin opening. It took about 2-3 weeks for my foresking to retract and then further 'use' meant that it now goes back easily and without any discomfort. However, you will need to keep stretching it otherwise it is likely to tighten up again. I preferred this option as i didnt want circumcised and it was painful for me to have sex as my foreskin was too tight so i couldnt just leave it. Hope this helps

hi, im a 15 year old boy and have a problem with my penis. When I am not 'hard' I can fully retract my foreskin. however when I am 'hard' I cant retract my foreskin?? I think its the piece of skin attaching the foreskin to the penis head. but im not sure. I don't want to go down the route of circumcision. any suggestions are welcome!!!

Hi, you don't have to get a circumcision to sort this out. The piece of skin you are talking about is known as the banjo (I don't know the real name) this can be snipped, either under local or general annesthetic. Depending how brave you are. See you GP they will give you more information. Hope this helps.

I'm pretty sure its phimosis. By your age, the foreskin should glide back and forth easily. Up to age 12-13, its not a problem if it doesn't retract but if it hasn't retracted yet, it's quite serious. Most will suggest some kinda lubrications but they may not work in your case . Since your foreskin is too tight, any attempt to retract it will only make it tighter. You should probably consider circumcision.
