Hi i'm at my wits end. I have what i would call under skin almost nerve damage style itching in my genital area. I have confirmed HSV2. I've been to many clinics and many docs. I have had it confirmed that this specific symptom is occurring too regularly to be the HSV2. Mixed in is thrush like symptoms, but i also itch around my rectum and my urethra. I had this for 2 years now. I've had many blood tests and had an allergy patch test and nothing has popped up. I itch/throb 80% of the time and it moves around the genital area. I'm out of ideas and so are the doctors. Is it as simple as recurrent thrush??? I cant tell. Any ideas before this itching drives me crazy. Thanks

I have never had cold sores etc but after my period last month i started to experience what i thought was mild thrush. Last week the itching in my vagina got much worst so i took fluconazole & a pessary but it continued to get worst. In the meantime i developed a fever & flu symptoms but as my little boy also had a fever etc i assumed i had caught it fro him. The itching continued & my whole genital area then became very itchy. I gave my doctor a water sample & she claimed i had thrush which had probably spread to my anus & i was prescribed a course of 6 pessaries with another fluconazole tablet (higher dose) the itching then became very sore & it hurt to urinate due to some sores & blisters that i could feel & now see inside my vagina. After a few days this became much worst & i could not sit or even wipe the area. I ceased to have any bowel movements days ago due to the pain & also piles that had now developed. The blisters & sores were now in & around my anus & i developed painful boils and blisters & the top of my thighs under my bum checks. After being in so much pain i saw an out of hours doctor that suspected herpes & prescribed aciclovir tablets. I had sex with my long term partner of 10 years + on 14th dec & have been very susceptible to infections after sex since the birth of our son in 2010 & my partner is adamant he does not & has never had genital herpes. He gets cold sores but has not had one for a while. I am very distressed & confused and need some help & advice as to how i could of contracted this & indeed what i should now do. Please help

Hi, I seem to suffer with extreme itchiness when I've nicked or cut myself (shaving for example). i know itching usually means its healing but the itching is so intense i scratch until the whole surrounding area bleeds. the itching seems to spread further outwards from the original site. It becomes unbearable at times. I've had this problem on my legs, hands and very lower back. how can I ease the itching?

I've been having itching on the pelvic area and burning around my labia. I also have this bump that's a scab now. It didn't hurt it seemed like a pimple because when it popped pus and blood came out just like a pimple. I have white discharge with a slight smell to it. Idk if this is a yeast infection, genital warts or herpes. Does anyone else have these issues??

its a virus so unless medicine progresses amazingly, you're stuck with it. good news is though that your body should clear the virus in a couple of years so you wont have it any more. in the mean time you might want to have a chat with your doctor about smear tests. i have the wart virus and im happily married so its totally possible to find someone awesome. its actually pretty benign as STIs go as long as you keep up to date on your smear tests.

hi in 15 to and there is a cream called somex and it is ment to be very good my friend used it and she said it workd very well and her warts havent come back and its been two years since she has had them i hope this was helpful

I was diagnosed with genital warts last year and have had them frozen off. I've only had 2 small warts but I am concerned about the connection between genital warts and cervical cancer. Am I in more risk of getting cervical cancer as I've had genital warts?

im a man with genital warts what can i do to get them removed

Go and have a smear test done. I had genital warts and when I had my smear test done I had cervical abnormalities. It DOES NOT mean you have cancer, just that there could be some inflammation. I didn't have cancer, and the treatment was simple and painless. In Wales you can have a smear test done from 20, in England it is 25.

For about a month I have had an itchy, stinging genital area (Im female). My friend said it might be thrush but as I have never had it before I am unsure. I went to the chemist and was given Pevaryl (Econazol. nitras) cream to use twice a day. It has not really made any difference. I have no discharge or any other symptoms just the stinging and itching which seem to get worse on the evening. Could it be thrush? Im using the cream for 4 more days, then will go to the doctor if nothing changes.

Hi, I'm 14, and I've had this constant itching in my ear for the past 6 months or so. It's on the inside and I end up itching my ear about 20-30 times a day just to try and relive it! It's driving me nuts! It's only in the right ear, but my left one produces really clear liquids wax, but doesn't itch. This itching of the right ear goes right down the side of my neck, from the ear, round the back of the jaw and then toward my tonsils and that general area. I don't want to go to the doctors cause its not really serious... My mum said it might be to do with the fact I'm growing but I've not had it for my whole life.... Please if anyone knows how to stop it it would be so greatly appreciated!! :)

i have psoriasis on all of the above and more, having suffered for over 20 years i think ive tried every treatment too. the treatment that worked best for me was a chinese herbalist but it didnt come cheap so had to discontinue for financial reasons. i saw him once a week for about 2 months, he gave me 2 different creams and bags of i dont know what exactly but herby things which i boiled in water strained and drank the juice, it didnt taste nice but a bit like liquorice. i saw my psoriasis disappearing rapidly in such a short time. i would go back in a breath if i could afford it, if only to see if he could have cured me.

Im also starting to see little tiny warts appearing under my eyes? I have no idea what to do, I already went and see my doctor but she told me that I can wait for a while to see if my body gets rid of them on its own and it did but now im seeing the tiny ones under my eyes.

Hi I am a 43 year old woman with four children. I suffer really bad itching aroung my genital area, usually around the time of my period. It is very uncomfortable and I think it is caused by varicose veins which cause me to rub to alleviate the itching. Unfortunately I have managed to split the area around my vagina,(originally damaged due to childbirth) which then bleeds and makes going to the loo difficult. It does heal relatively quickly, but the pattern starts all over again in about 28 days! It's horrible and I don't know what to do,help!

Many women, girls, and some men, suffer from a genital condition know as Lichen Sclerosis, which causes severe itching, pain, atrophy and dystrophy. Much of the genital and anal region can be affected, with fusion of vulva, the clitoris and labia dissappear; the vagina, urethera and anus can become almost closed; and similarly in men, the penis can fuse to foreskin and scrotum. Come on! this is rather widespread (possibly hereditary?) but little known and/or recognized condition. We need more information and research to be done!!?

Hi I'm a 14 year old girl, and I have only recently become concerned about two tag-like flaps in my vaginal opening. I'm scared this May be genital warts. The skin tags are quite small, no darker in colour than the rest of my genital area, painless, and cause absolutely no irritation. I have given and received oral sex. My boyfriends has never had any other sexual partners, he is a virgin. I have never had sex before. I've also never had genital-to-genital contact before. I would really like to know what these skin tag things are!

Genital Warts are spread via genital to genital contact. It is possible (but rare) to contract the virus without having sex.

genital herpes are tiny spot bubble appear around private part when someone infected after 2nd day normally itching 2-3 spots appear there is NO cure for this virus you got for life but ZOVIRAX helps to minimize

Hi am a 17 year old male and i think i have genital warts on my penis and testicles, i went to my local GP and was given cream to use, i used it for maybe two weeks then went to a sexual health clinic to check if i had any other std, which i thankfully don't, while i was there i was going to get a cream which only required one treatment and it would get rid of my genital warts, however the doctor that examined me said that i did not need it because i did not have genital warts and said they were cysts or growths, and told me not to use the cream given to me by my GP, i did as he said, so my question is should i trust the specialist or my GP? i have recently found out about fordyce spots and think that's would they could be if not genital warts, they seem to fit the description, look like white heads and am able to pop them, there is a lot of them also.

Hi, I've had genital warts before. If you've not had intercourse then it might not even be genital warts. The best thing to do is go to a GUM clinic with a friend or with your parents and get them properly diagnosed. You might find it's nothing. If they are genital warts it's nothing to worry about, you'll just have to get them treated and your immune system will eventually supress the virus.

I've been itching for 4 months everywhere from my scalp to my feet 24/7 I only have some small rd bumps but I have been looked at by 2 doctors and an allergy doctor they don't think it's scabies but I feel like something is crawling on me and I've been treated for scabies and I'm still. Itching I can't sleep from always itching please help I'm going to see a dermatologist next week!! I have also taken all kinds of medication to help with itching and NOTHING WORKS!!!

I'm 17 years old and have just been diagnosed with genital warts on the left of my labia inside the vulva by a doctor from the GUM clinic my doctor told me it was just skin tags and completely normal as i have also been suffering from a bad thrush infection whitch can cause flair up off skin tags another doctor told me they was aswell but she was unsure so she asked for another doctors opinion on it and she said genital warts this is all so confusing as my mum does not think they are genital warts as they don't look like them and I don't really have any more choices than to use the cream and treat them as genital warts but its driving me mad not knowing for certain, I have also had the the vaccination against HPV genital warts in 2009 which protects you 90% against the infection ,could anyone please give me some advice on this as I just need to know 100% what I have :(

The vaccination against hpv causing cervical cancer is only for two types of HPV. There are many more types. The types that cause warts are not responsible for cervical cancer. I would think that the GUM clinic doctor is most likely correct given the amount of vaginas they have inspected.

hi i am 22 years old and have had a problem with anal itching and bleeding for just over a year now. i thought the itching was caused by worms but i have not seen worms in my stools at all, then i recently noticed a smallcut on my anus. it will heal but then when i go to the toilet again it just gets torn. the cut has now healed for a while but the itching is still there. is the itching caused by the cut or are they two different problems?i have tried anusol but it doesn't seem to work. i am slightly worried as i have heard that anal itching can be quite serious as it can be linked to cancer, is this true?

i had sex once with no condom, and after i had it, small white bumps formed and is still there after a few months, they dont itch or in pain, but i am constantly worried that i have an std, i got checked out and they said it is nothing, but is it something, also does genital warts cause brain damage, and can they go away on their own. how do i know if i have an std? what is the difference between syphillis and genital warts, can genital warts cause other stds. I cant seem to focus, and i can only understand things by watching and not by hearing. i cant finish tasks, is this normal.
