its a virus so unless medicine progresses amazingly, you're stuck with it. good news is though that your body should clear the virus in a couple of years so you wont have it any more. in the mean time you might want to have a chat with your doctor about smear tests. i have the wart virus and im happily married so its totally possible to find someone awesome. its actually pretty benign as STIs go as long as you keep up to date on your smear tests.

hi in 15 to and there is a cream called somex and it is ment to be very good my friend used it and she said it workd very well and her warts havent come back and its been two years since she has had them i hope this was helpful

I was diagnosed with genital warts last year and have had them frozen off. I've only had 2 small warts but I am concerned about the connection between genital warts and cervical cancer. Am I in more risk of getting cervical cancer as I've had genital warts?

im a man with genital warts what can i do to get them removed

Go and have a smear test done. I had genital warts and when I had my smear test done I had cervical abnormalities. It DOES NOT mean you have cancer, just that there could be some inflammation. I didn't have cancer, and the treatment was simple and painless. In Wales you can have a smear test done from 20, in England it is 25.

Have you tried using lubricant? Have you tried various sexual positions? Does the discharge smell pungent? Have you ever had thrush? I would consult your GP once again about the pain.

i have psoriasis on all of the above and more, having suffered for over 20 years i think ive tried every treatment too. the treatment that worked best for me was a chinese herbalist but it didnt come cheap so had to discontinue for financial reasons. i saw him once a week for about 2 months, he gave me 2 different creams and bags of i dont know what exactly but herby things which i boiled in water strained and drank the juice, it didnt taste nice but a bit like liquorice. i saw my psoriasis disappearing rapidly in such a short time. i would go back in a breath if i could afford it, if only to see if he could have cured me.

I have what looks like genital warts just under the head of my penis I'm not sure wether they are genital warts or not. They are just like little Bumps and do not hurt and are not spreading At all. I have had them for about 1 year now. What should I do?

Hi I've had genital warts. If you can go to a clinic and get them assessed, they might not be genital warts. They could be something else normal. It's best to go and get them checked out and then at least you'll know what they are. If they are warts then you can get them treated easily. I found the best treatments to be cryo (freezing) or Podofillotoxin. Trust me though, go and get them diagnosed, it's the best way to know for sure.

My boyfriend has been told he has genital warts so I've to get checked out. I don't have any symptoms so will i have the hpv virus? What do they do to test for genital warts?

they will do a physical exam to see if they can find anything and then a smear test and take a swab that will have to be sent to a lab, you can contract the HPV virus which can carry the disease but doesnt generally mean you will see any warts but means you can give them to others, symptoms can take a long time to show so it doen not mean your boyfriend hasnt been faithful and he probably didnt know himself till lately, unfortunatly we all have a past and these things happen, try not to let it affect your relationship if you have contracted it ( and hopefully you have not) :) good luck

I would like to know if Swab test will automatically come as positive cause of my mouth sore colds in past or it can come negative if it is not genital herpes but some diferent vaginal blisters.? Also is it possible that it can be this first genital outbreak cause by that virus 1 wht I had so many years? Or it has to be type 2? If it is type 2 it means I been infected just now? Cause first outbreak are 3--14 days or no symptoms at all..?

There is a product you can use on both your oral herpes in your mouth and genital herpes. It's a liquid magnesium with calcium and it worked wonders for me. It's called Momma's Mag. mommasmag.com My baby had shingles and it was spreading like crazy. I was so desperate for something and I tried this and thank goodness it works. It does sting, but what doesn't on an open sore! SMH.

Hi I'm a 14 year old girl, and I have only recently become concerned about two tag-like flaps in my vaginal opening. I'm scared this May be genital warts. The skin tags are quite small, no darker in colour than the rest of my genital area, painless, and cause absolutely no irritation. I have given and received oral sex. My boyfriends has never had any other sexual partners, he is a virgin. I have never had sex before. I've also never had genital-to-genital contact before. I would really like to know what these skin tag things are!

Genital Warts are spread via genital to genital contact. It is possible (but rare) to contract the virus without having sex.

Wendy are you getting your eyes checked by a opthalmologyst??? I had those symptoms & mine turned out to be iritis & uvitis! I dont want to scare you if you havent already you need to pester your doctor for a referral! Treated early enough they can treat it with drops & steroids. The opthalmologyst will just put drops in your eyes & shine lights into your eyes getting you to look in various directions.(hopefully you wont have this but idf you do I would recommend you buy a prepaid prescription (£29 odd for 3 months) as I forked out nearly £60 in 3 weeks of appointments before finding out this existed. I too dont have the genital ulcers (thankfully) though have experienced 3-4 of the symptoms as well as blood tests coming back with the likey type to have Behcets.

i found out last week then i was diagnosed with genital herpes, i am in alot of pain and been feeling very down and ashmed. I am having my first outbreak and can not even walk the pain is that bad! Is there any pain relief? please help.

Hi am a 17 year old male and i think i have genital warts on my penis and testicles, i went to my local GP and was given cream to use, i used it for maybe two weeks then went to a sexual health clinic to check if i had any other std, which i thankfully don't, while i was there i was going to get a cream which only required one treatment and it would get rid of my genital warts, however the doctor that examined me said that i did not need it because i did not have genital warts and said they were cysts or growths, and told me not to use the cream given to me by my GP, i did as he said, so my question is should i trust the specialist or my GP? i have recently found out about fordyce spots and think that's would they could be if not genital warts, they seem to fit the description, look like white heads and am able to pop them, there is a lot of them also.

Hi, I've had genital warts before. If you've not had intercourse then it might not even be genital warts. The best thing to do is go to a GUM clinic with a friend or with your parents and get them properly diagnosed. You might find it's nothing. If they are genital warts it's nothing to worry about, you'll just have to get them treated and your immune system will eventually supress the virus.

I'm 17 years old and have just been diagnosed with genital warts on the left of my labia inside the vulva by a doctor from the GUM clinic my doctor told me it was just skin tags and completely normal as i have also been suffering from a bad thrush infection whitch can cause flair up off skin tags another doctor told me they was aswell but she was unsure so she asked for another doctors opinion on it and she said genital warts this is all so confusing as my mum does not think they are genital warts as they don't look like them and I don't really have any more choices than to use the cream and treat them as genital warts but its driving me mad not knowing for certain, I have also had the the vaccination against HPV genital warts in 2009 which protects you 90% against the infection ,could anyone please give me some advice on this as I just need to know 100% what I have :(

The vaccination against hpv causing cervical cancer is only for two types of HPV. There are many more types. The types that cause warts are not responsible for cervical cancer. I would think that the GUM clinic doctor is most likely correct given the amount of vaginas they have inspected.

Something I found with genital warts is that once you have the virus it's with you for life. I first had them after Uni living in London and in those days (20 years ago) I was given a bottle of some kind of cream they called "The Paint" to dab on which did eventually see them go....but they came back. Again and again. Even now 20 years on I am back to the GUM clinic to have new warts seen to. I've been given freezing treatment, Warticon (caused pain and bleeding) and other creams (also caused pain and bleeding) and for particularly stubborn ones near my anus I am likely to have these lasered I believe. So be ware. If you have genital warts then you have the virus and I think you have this for life and you therefore need to be very careful during intercourse.

i have an issue on my penis, i will try to explain it, and please question me if needed, since about 3 months i noticed the appearance of small soft-skin bumps (about 3-4 mm diameter) , no pain, no black dots at the middle of it, no liquids, looks like one unit bump, not a collection of small herpes (i've checked internet for similar shape like genital herpes or genital warts, but i didnt found any. i used Fusicort oint, and greatfully it started to disappear (started to get less bumped even it turned into dark color area) today i've found new one (appeared in only 1 day!), same symptoms as before, no pain, no liquids, etc. appreciate your advice

Many women, girls, and some men, suffer from a genital condition know as Lichen Sclerosis, which causes severe itching, pain, atrophy and dystrophy. Much of the genital and anal region can be affected, with fusion of vulva, the clitoris and labia dissappear; the vagina, urethera and anus can become almost closed; and similarly in men, the penis can fuse to foreskin and scrotum. Come on! this is rather widespread (possibly hereditary?) but little known and/or recognized condition. We need more information and research to be done!!?

It's difficult to make a definitive comment about the colour of your genital area, because we don't know your overall complexion. This can have a strong bearing on skin colour. However, genital skin, and particularly the skin of the labia minorae, is quite often, and quite normally, rather darker than the skin of the rest of the body. The most important thing to say, though, is that dark genital tissue has nothing to do with how clean you are. Normal personal hygiene, in which you wash sufficiently often to feel fresh rather than sticky, is quite sufficient; excessive (too vigorous and/or too frequent) washing can damage the skin of your genital area, making it liable to be sore and prone to infections. And it won't make it any lighter!

Kathleen, Have you had the mouth and genital ulcers? I can tell you I've been dealing with these symptoms of mouth ulcers for years and joint pain. No physician new what the cause of my problems were until last February I started having genital ulcers and about 4 months prior I started having abdominal issues. It wasn't until I started getting gential ulcers that Bechets was a possibility. Blood work after tests. Finally diagonosed with Bechets in Feb 2012. I have been on steroids...colchicine...cyclosporine... and now imuran twice a day... I feel as though my body is starting to reject it... My Drs. seem to have pushed my current complaints aside. My joint pain is becoming debilitating I have the exact symptoms that you have...if I were you I would definitely educate yourself on the disease and question your physician to what is going on.

i have suffered with genital warts and had them cleared up. But lately i have had pain passing urine and pain during intercourse. I also sting around my clitorus area during intercourse too. I am very worried about what is going on down there. Please help.
