Hello, I have a white, hard spot on the shaft of my penis, its been there for quite a while, atleast a year. It doesn't itch or hurt or anything like that but its on my skin. I can get a hold of it if I pull my skin a little bit. It's just a hard material or something like that on the skin of my penis and it is annoying and I was wandering if anybody could tell me what it is or what I can do to get rid of it. I have thought about poking it with a needle to try and squeeze out whatever is in there but never got to it. I've read many articles about spots but none of them help or actually desvribe what i have properly. Its just a white lump/spot that is hard and the size of a small spot you would get on your face. Please help.

Tying skin tags is not an ideal way of removing these whether they are anal or other areas as the pain goes on for days til it dies off from lack of blood. THe problem is sometimes you can get to the root of the tag and will leave a small tag that is annoying. It can easily get infected also. Best to see a doctor who can remove it in one go under local anaesthetic.

I have very hard skin that forms on the pad of my left foot only and has done so for several years. The skin appears to be dying and I think began after I broke the little toe on that foot and I find it very painful to wear shoes with a heel for longer than an hour or so. I do regularly use an abrasive to remove the hard skin and moisturise but it just doesn't want to go away. Can you suggest possible solutions please?

Hi,my aunt is diabetic and had a wound on her toe which has healed but now a hard skin has formed on the same spot. Her doctor want to remove it surgically but she's scared of a deep wound forming again and taking very long to heal.I once saw on embarrassing bodies a patient with similar condition and a diabetic sufferer too was given some injections on the hard skin and after few days the hard skin kind of dissolved.Could you please tell me what kind of injections were used so that I can tell my aunt to suggest to her doctor,Thanks.

I've had hard skin and deep cracks on my heels for as long as I can remember, using a razor and knife to take the top layers off to prevent further cracking. I've only just seen this Palmar-Plantar Psoriasis on this website after my doctor saying there is nothing they can give me it's just hard skin. What lotions and potions work best and it's so painful sometimes affecting my walking?

My GP has just presribed salicylic acid and vaseline as a treatment for the dryness and cracking and I am hoping this will work as nothing else has (I have had palmoplantar pustular psoriasis AKA PPP for the last 8 years) The salicylic acid "peels off" the hard, dry skin and the vaseline is to moisturise and help keep moisture in. 45 minutes after applying this I then have to apply my Daivonex which should then be absorbed more easily. I belive you can ask a pharmasist to make you up a solution of 2 - 10% Salicylic acid in vaseline.

Hi, Im 26 years old female, and i have white hard skin under my knee socket, i work in childcare and do spend time on my knees with the kids but not an awful lot, i have not changed my diet, shower gel, fabric conditioner recently. Hi, I'm a 24 year old male and I have a very irritating growth directly under my nose. I had a very small, neglible spot growing but I cut it slightly whilst shaving. Since then (around 6months) I have had a hard skin growth like a skin tag although the skin looks dry and dead and is very hard and not 'stretchy' like skin tags can be. Because of where it is, stubble grows inside/through it which causes it to grow strangely in columns and also means I can not avoid it when shaving. It bleeds very easy and can be painful. Occasionally I will tweeze the hairs from between the 'columns' of skin growth which allows me to pull them off (painful & bleeds quickly) and it looks fine again but it continues to grow back. I've never seen anything like it and I am in the process of applying for new jobs - it is very embarrassing during interviews as thanks to the location it can look something from the nose... Help!

I am 30 years old I have fought with obesity my whole life. I was 26 stone at my heaviest. I have worked very very hard to lose the weight with no pills or help at all, I am now down to 15 stone and I am losing more every week. However I have lots of extra skin. Its to the point that I would prolly be very close to my idea weight if the skin was removed. Is there anything I can do to tone the skin up, I already get plenty of activity and exersize. I get horible rashes and boils and other skin blisters from all the skin. and frankly I'd almost rather be fat then have this skin and the sores and problems it causes. what can be done?

Hi, I really feel for you. I am going through the same thing, not as bad though. I was 19.5 stone and now down to 12.5 stone. I am probably too thin it's just the excess skin keeping my weight up. I am have started doing weights for the last 5 months, 4 times a week, and have been watching my diet, eating lots of protein. I have seen some improvements, but very very slowly. I am going to keep at it til next August to give it every chance of succeeding, but it is a struggle as everyday I think I am going crazy. I have never gone to the beach my whole life, never taken my top off in front of anyone. I can't even have a girlfriend. I hope the exercise works, if not I will go for the surgery as I have to get rid of it. I hope you find a an answer. But I think it is surgery to get rid of the excess skin. keep working on it.

Im 48 and also been fighting obesity all my life. I was 21stone 6ft tall. I got down to 12 1/2 stone and was going to the gym all the time. Going to the gym will certainly tone you up but you would have to put on loads of muscle to hide loose skin and then you have to have the right genetic build for it! I even considered illegally using steroid injections to weight train, but because I had slimmed to be healthy I thought pumping myself full off lethal crap was contradictory to what I set out to do in the first place. My view is I can either stare at my loose skin or stare at my scars from plastic surgery. What I can't stare at is a lean healthy weight body without scars or either loose skin sadly. But at least I will live to see my kids grow up.

I have two skin tags around the anus area both are skin colour and quite small one is very soft and the other is hard, it does bother me sometimes im just worried that its something else but i do want them removed

I have unusually hard and cracking skin radiating out from under the arches of both feet. I have unfortunately developed the habit of peeling strips of hard skin off while sitting around in the evenings- mainly because the feel of the rough skin irritates me. However, i only succeed in making my feet sore and the hard skin grows straight back within days. I have tried intense creams and wearing bed socks all night after heavily creaming my feet - all to no avail. I have also tried a hand held home pedicure gaget. These areas are a deeper red colour than the rest of my foot and do not extend beyond the arch area. Could there be an underlying infection?

Hi, i'm 19 and my little toes on both feet seem to be quite small. They also seem to have hard skin around them on the outside. I don't understand why my skin is so hard around my little toes. They are very slightly yellow on the edge. Do you know what this is? They used to be healthy, i only just noticed this in the last year or so.

My son suffered with verrucas I took him to the GP and he has seen a lot of these cases the raised hard skin is normal and is usually the cause of pain the GP told us to get a soft foot file and gently file down the hard skin (being careful not to file the healthy skin) then apply duct tape over the verruca as they walk around the particles the verruca drops will stick and not affect others it will heal on its own with the immune system making them less likely to get them again. Hope this helps.

I have had plantar warts(verrucae) for about 15 years. Starting with one, and I left it! And because I did not act fast it spread. Now both heels are covered and my toes. My GP calls them mosaic verrucae, as very flat and appear as hard dry skin. They are starting to clear, or atleast improve with 1. Regular cryotherapy at GP 2. Bazooka extra strength, every night without fail, after soaking and pairing down(fileing) You have to keep at it, dont give up, it will be sore!! And I find the skin becomes dry and hard around the veruccae, and the skin will eventually pull off, pulling the veruccae with it and the threads aswell, My tip is to be hard, heavy handed and persistence!! Combine treatment such as cryo/ gel/ potassium soaks(avail from GP) I spent 15 yr giving up to easy, as didn't have the time with work etc, but if you keep at it! Should see results. Some folk and I think that includes me will always have them but you can manage them and make them look better.
