My boyfriend was told today that he has tonsillitis by his doctor he has been in bed for 2 days now and has a high temperature. This is the second in 6 months he has been like this. I'm just worried that having a high temp is dangerous. He has been given antibiotic. Hes burning up but complains that he's cold. Just looking for a second opinion for peace of mind

Am 20 yrs old, my period has been heavy ever since I started when I was 13yrs... The past 2 weeks my temperature has been up and down, but mostly up, burning up, and after a week of the up/down temperature I started my period for this month but its really really light, hardly anything its so light but I still have the pain of a heavy period that I normally have. It's now been 2 weeks of the temperature and its still going strong and a week of my period (not that it's much of a period). Am getting a bit worried. And because of the burning up temperature I can't wear more then a top which meant I got soaked in the heavy rain we had, so now got a bit of a cough.

They however dont stop my periods from being early or late, but i would recomend getting some tablets from the doctors, i hope this helps

hi Ive had this for the past 10 years, I have been given Admonal antispasmodic tablets to take 3 times a day before meals, this slows down the food in your stomach..... I do sometimes have a flare up and then take immodium.... I have the same insecurities as you to going out, especially somewhere new... I tend to check out where the loos are in case....but if I know days before I have to go out I take care of what I eat..... Holland and Barrett do a food intolerance test, or check with your doctor for this.....you could be gluten intolerant.... I personally have to avoid too much chocolate, citrus fruit, coffee and pork, although I can have a bacon sandwich, seems that cured pork is ok.... I actually flew to Australia with this problem taking immodium every other day as ok.d with my doctor, you might get a bit bunged up but it soon sorts itself out. hope this helps and good luck .

I have white stuff which I think is thrush in my mouth on my tongue, roof of mouth, cheeks, side of mouth and now it looks like it's starting at the back of my throat too.I also have white creamy discharge down below too.My mouth is so sore I can't eat or drink anything. For the last few weeks I have been waking up at night drenched in sweat.I have had a temperature for two weeks and it won't go away. When I get out of bed I get so out of breath that I have to go back. Can thrush go away on its own?My mom made an appointment with a doctor because she's worried but I get really nervous at the doctors and don't really want to go.Is there anything I can do to make it go away on its own or lower my temperature(think I've tried everything though). Please help.

Hi this is Maria again. The doctor rang my mom with my blood results and she said that they aren't normal. She said that my white blood cells are extremely high 101,000 with blasts??? and my red blood cells and my platelets are very low.She wants me and my parents to come in and talk to her tomorrow morning and she said that I will have to go to hospital for tests.I am really scared.I don't want to go to hospital. Is it bad to have high white cells and low of the other cells?what does it mean?Do you normally go to hospital because of thrush??why do I need tests.I am scared that I have something bad because my mom has been crying since the doctor rang. Please can someone who has thrush tell me that this is all normal. Please please?

Are you ok? I wish I could give you advice but I do not have the medical knowledge to advise you on this but I hope you have got some answers from the hospital xx

Hi there, Over the last two years I have appeared to start sweating considerable amounts I think it might be related to anxiety in some way, which is weird because I'm a very confident person, however I feel that now whenever I'm in an awkward/new social situation I start pouring with sweat! Obviously the more I think about it the worse it gets! I feel like I'm in a sauna as my internal temperature just gets so hot, it seems to be triggered so easily! My back and forehead are the worst places by far! I have had blood tests but nothing has shown up! I'm no doctor but j feel that it must be due to my internal body temperature regulator ( hypothalamus) obviously this is just a presumption but it seems like the only logical explanation! It is really getting me down and to the point where I'm becoming depressed because of it and don't want to go out in social situations! Please help!!

Sometimes I feel that my balls go very high up that it feels uncomfortable. I started feeling it around few month ago. Is that normal that left ball go so high up that it is almost on the same level as base of the penis??? The right one don't go so high up normally only the left one. I just have feeling that left testicle go so high up and it sort of stands up instead of lying free. Thanks

if you're really worried then go to your local GUM clinic - the test is very quick and totally confidential. its so much more likely to be exactly what the doctor said - laryngitis, tonsilitis, both of those things can happen very close to each other since they're both infections of your throat. diarrhea can be a symptom of pretty much anything - even just eating something that disagreed with you. if you havent had unprotected sex and you're not in the high risk group then chances are that you have nothing to worry about.

I recently discovered a condition on line called Wilson's temperature syndrome and believe it apply's to me. I have an under active thyroid, overweight, joint pain, cramps, hair thinning and periodically puffy face and hands. I monitored my body temperature over three weeks and it averaged 35.6c but never greater than 36.2c. Where can I get help for this condition please?

I have had symptoms such as needing to urinate frequently, hot temperature, swollen gland in groin and bad headaches. On the whole I feel like I have a bad infection. After many attempts to test my urine (no infection) - over a year on high dose antibiotics (nitrofantin and reflex) I am fed up. The antibiotics take most of the symptoms at bay but to be honest I still need to urinate frequently and can urinate all the time. My urine is dark. I have been referred to urology, endured many tests - bladder and scans....They cannot find anything. I am worried about the long term effects of being on high dose antibiotics and feel there is no answer.

Hi I have a rash which only comes out when in contact with direct sun at a high temperature.I have seen my GP regarding this problem and he put it down to urticaria and put me on various anti histamines which none have succeeded to help cure.I went on holiday to Australia and the rash came out quite severe and went to see a GP there which he put it down to a bacterial infection and gave me ciphalexin which did the trick,Unfortunately after a while it was back again and it covers head part of arms and chest is there anything you could suggest thanks

I have had this for 6 months on the under side of my bum cheek, but all of my sexual partners have never heard of it or even have any form of it so bit confused as to how i got it! i only have say 5 or 6 of them and few have popped now, does that mean it will begin to clear??? but i also read that you can get it from swimming baths, public toilets and towel - like in hotels, that havent been washed at a high temperature. The doctors should really look for something to clear it up, its daft in this day an age we have to put up with a pesky rash for god knows how long!!

I have just managed to clear up my MCV, I squeezed the larger ones, then put plasters on them, and used savalon/ germolene on the infected area 2/3 times a day, having had it for a couple of months this method seems to of cleared it in two weeks! Hopes this helps

I had MC when i was about 7/8 and i had a good few all over my body, i went to my gp and they said what it was. eventually it cleared up and didn't leave me any scars, what ever you do, don't pick or burst them because it may either hurt or spread to infection elsewhere in your body or even pass it on to someone else, let nature take it's course.

i think i have prickly heat although i am not sure. I have it on the palm of my hand. At room temperature it is purple but if it is in any other temperature it will turn red and will be painful. It is only on my lefthand (my writing hand). Writing also cause painfulness. Is it prickly hand? Nothing seems to work to get rid of it.

In reply to Catherine... I have severe raynaud's and it's extremely painful, especially when the blood flows back into my fingers. Amy, I'm taking nifedipine, but it's proving to be far from 100% effective. But the doctor advises I keep taking it as it may get worse if I stop (which is hard to imahine). Keeping my core temperature high seems to be the best preventative measure. And gloves...2 pairs on the really cold days!

Possibly this is thrush. Antibiotics kill off the bacteria in your gut which contains the thrush, and so if you take one which kills all, you stand more of a chance of killing them off as well. Thrush also lives on sugar, so any issues around sugar control may lead to having thrush. On top of that, thrush infections can lead to urine infections, and then you get more antibiotics which then cause more thrush...and so on. I was also diagnosed with excema around the private areas, which was irritated by high sugars in my urine, by any thrush cream I used and by the stress from having a constantly itchy nether regions. Things which may help : clean cloths whenever washing, making sure your underwear is washed at a high temperature, and using non biological detergent. Getting your sugars down if they are too high. Yoghurt can help (check for hidden sugar), make sure you drink lots of water, you can try cranberry juice (but it contains sugar) or tablets which you can get from a health store. I think antibiotics stay in the system for up to a month, so you may get sysmptoms for ages afterwards after finishing a course. I would strongly ask your doctor for a test for thrush, and keep going back. It's a miserable condition, and you need to get as much help as possible. Good luck.

I sit on a hollowed out cushion to avoid pressure on my perineum Flare ups send my temperature to very high levels (40°C+) whereupon I faint. Sex life virtually gone HOWEVER It doesn't kill you!- although a couple of times I would have happily cut my own balls off if it would have stopped the pain

I think I understand now. As long as your testicles (balls) are in the (scrotum)sack, there's nothing to worry about. The scrotum responds to differences in temperature - when hot or warm, it will be loose and your balls will hang low; when cold or cool it will pull your balls up tightly against your body to keep them warm. The scrotum does this to keep your sperm at a fairly constant temperature. If your sperm gets too hot then it won't make any babies.

My son is nearly 16 and has woken a few times in the night shouting but I have managed to settle him and get him back to sleep. Last night he woke and got out of bed, crying and screaming he hated me and didn't know what to do. He tried to walk downstairs. I managed to get him back into bed and I think he must of woke because he then calmed down. He has been poorly with flu and a high temperature which I have now got down to normal. Do you think this contributed to his night terror? He has no recollection it this morning.
