I have been getting a pain in my stomach for the last year. It only ever happens when my stomach is empty and starts off as a hunger pang which turns into a pain. The pain is high up just under my chest in the centre. It usually does get better once I eat.

I am 18 have had the same problem for over a year, you're not alone. Have been given mebeverine and all sorts of anti spadmodics but nothing worked for me. I also get constipation quite badly and nausea is a strong symptom for me along with feeling faint. People here should try a gluten free diet as coaliac can cause very similar problems Good Luck everyone i know one day we will all find things that can help ease our symptoms Keep strong and keep going to the doctors to discuss the symptoms and the food diary is an excellend way to pinpoint foods or drinks that may cause problems.

I have the same exact symptoms and it always gets better when I eat.

Hello. My probwm started more than a month ago. After eating supper I could still feel the feed in my tummy the next morning. After 2 weeks it stopped. But then I started having abdomen pains. For about 2-3 weeks now, I have 2 spots in my abdomen hat spams and pain, bloating and still have constant hunger. If I don't take medication to get the gut working (OTC meds) then I don't pass a stool. I can feel the stool there but can't pass it. For 4 days I could not pass a Stoll when I stopped the medication. Sometimes the stools are normal sometimes its really soft. Please help Kim

I'm very scared after being told that i have a prolapse - the docotr examined me and told em to go and do pelvic floor excersisies. I was in a wheelchair for some months before the birth of my average weighted baby boy - i did well and pushed him out in a brisk 30 mins, no assistance needed just a bit of gas and air. Now I am terrified because I went to the doctor after being ont he loo all morning in agony much like labour and was desperate for some gas and air to make the pain less. I was aware i needed to feed my little one and paniced when my maternal insicts could not override the over whelming pain. Everyone just assumed i was having an ibs attack - I have never passed a solid stool since the birth of baby and have eaten loads of biscuits and flapjacks in the day to keep myself from hunger. A strange sensation made me think to check myself and felt my vaginal wall pertruding through the labia - I was frightened and scared but more so in a lot of pain - I was sent home with anti- cramping medication and some codin for the pain and told to excersise - now i'm terrified that not only will i have ibs but also aggonising pain from the prolapse and that no-one understood the pain. please what do i do?

i get the hunger all the time, like even after a really big meal...like 3 hours later hunger. Wake up in the middle of the night sometimes with hunger. It's only gotten more intense as ive gotten older

hi I've had this ever since I moved into my own place! stress? maybe. I have normal poos and sometimes runny, but I'm 22 and male. if I'm at home generally I'm fine but anywhere else I worry where the toilets are!! just the thought that I'm about to go somewhere sets me off! have to go to the toilet 3 times before we leave the house and then stop at the petrol station! I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago and explained (after 1 year) I've been given fybogel mebeverine. I drink it morning and evening. these last 2 weeks I haven't needed to use the loo at work once, gone out on the evening and been fine. in the morning I've had one massive poo and that's it for the day. fantastic! I'm not cured but it's doing me alot of good. I found that smoking doesn't help the situation either, so quit that too. I still get painfull intense "hunger" pains gastrititis? I'm not sure, either way I'm hoping over time it will fade away. hope this helps anyone.... would love to find out about the hunger pains. thanks!

hi sue, maybe you can use multi vitamins, nutritional method to treat the hunger pangs, and sleep at 9.30pm everyday help alot too. high blood pressure mostly caused by inflammation in the body. so eat more food that contain anti oxidant. cheers. kiet

Symptoms of type 1 diabetes include excessive thirst, excessive hunger, weight loss and tiredness. You can also vomit or pass out in the later stages before diagnosis. If you think you have diabetes you should see a doctor as soon as possible because it can become very serious very quickly. I was 14 when I was diagnosed and I nearly went into a coma.

Hi, im 17 and a friend at school has told me that he thinks I may have diabetes. I realy dont think I do but I have noticed I can get shaky and light headed if I havent ate anything for a little while also I can feel quite sweety and adjitated. I thought this was just due to hunger but I cant help having the thought in the back of my mind that it could be related to diabetes

I found the same as you monica, I got it when i was 16, that was 5 years ago. From some cases of IBS i'd say I'd trade anything to actually be able to eat something without my gut rejecting it. I too have all your syptoms, and it ruined my remaining teenage life, socially. But despite all my depressive talk on here and talk, I still met a girl and several girls that havent minded my messed up body. I just had to improve my personality lol. If you're gonna drink with your friends then skip dinner, but otherwise never skip a meal, just eat plain bread for school/college and when you get home eat loads of dairy/veg/all the no no foods, so that you function as best you can all day round, because cutting out the problem foods completely will never work out. But if you're out with friends eat plain but drink water too...it helps reduce the gassy guts. Go to the bathroom regularly aswell...the water is a good excuse to. An outside job in the future might be a good idea if you like me dont want to be around others while working. hell you can help save the environment and animals maybe :) I've got it worst out of everyone, but what makes it worse is I dont stop being hungry...like i eat a roast dinner and then 3 hours later my hunger isnt a mere emptiness its full blown I havent eaten for 3 days hunger. Plain biscuits, bananas, plain bread, water, water melon too. Ham as a meat if you can manage. But make sure you eat your balanced diet real good at home

Following a second Colonoscopy in Oct 2013 I have been in pain 24/7 which is ruining my life. I also suffer with griping/gurgling/popping/noise and experience hunger pains not long after I have eaten accompanied by more pain. I am now being told that the prep taken prior to the Colonoscopy can upset some people, never experienced this with the previous one. Anyone else had this?

I found that I tended to feel worse and get more IBS-like symptoms around school and in the morning. -Stressing all night about whether I'll beable to go or end up needing to go at school or such. Exams are a murder. Thankfully I can take them separately now as I had a chat with them about it. I may try the more exersize part, as I noticed it was worse when I was sat down all day. Eg. School. I tend to get these weird, what sounds like hunger noises and uncomfortableness around the lower stomach, by the womb. I have abselutely no idea what they are. :S

i was diagnosed exactly 7 years ago, i lost loads of weight before i was diagnosed even though i was feeling hungry all the time and eating more and more. i did put on a lot of weight after being diagnosed but that was because i still had "phantom hunger pangs" (as i called it) i didnt feel hungry but i felt like i had to eat! i now try to eat only when i'm actually hungry, and have my weight under control again!!

Hi, I usually have my period at the end of the month but for the month of may, I missed it. For the month of may, i've been studying and sleeping less than 5 hours, and also very active in sports. I've also had sexual intercourse at the starting of May but I do not have pregnancy symptoms (e.g nausea, backaches, dizziness, hunger, spotting/cramping) Currently, I've missed my period and I've this yellow-brown discharge which smells kinda like metal when near to my nose. I feel worried. Please reply me, thank you!

I suffer ith Acid Reflux, for which I am on medication for. The tablets are called Ranitadine 300mg in the morning and 300mg in the evening, this helps, but I have this constant hunger which makes me really ill, tired, feel like i am going to die because I feel like I have not eaten for weeks. I have blood tests which came back ok, the camera down my throat, came back ok, breath tests, ultra sound, its so annoying nothing is found.

Divide your day into five meal slots, breakfast, mid morning snack, lunch, mid afternoon snack and dinner. Constant blood sugar up! Have found cook yourself slim books good, herbals teas good, as stock drinks, keep hunger at bay too. You may find blood type diet good, used in connection with calorie control. I stuck to 1500cals a day and lost 10 kg!

I am a nanny to a two year old Type 1 diabetic boy - typical symptoms of diabetes are an increased thirst, increased hunger and urinating a lot more frequently. Vision can also get blurry too due to high sugar levels in the blood. Diabetics HAVE to eat regularly, a controlled diet so that they can have their insulin at the same time to equal their blood sugars, so I would not advise skipping meals as this wouldn't help. There is definitely no way you can stop yourself from having type 1 diabetes, especially not in terms of drinking more and not eating. If you're worried something's wrong I'd say go to the doctors.

Hi iv tried to loose weight for years. Iv done all the diets from the slimming clubs too the faddy ones to the liquid one's and so on. Iv just completed an intensive course of hypnotherapy and cleared out the head shall we say! The hypno was good for the compulsive overeating and dealing with the emotions of overeating, however im still fat and very unhappy, iv asked my DR about a gastric band as a last resort because I know thats the only way I will loose the weight to have the physical restriction and no hunger! However my DR has told me even though i am 38years old 5ft 6" and 20st 3lb and have a BMI of 46.5 that i dont qualify! Has anyone got any advice?? Every time I try and save for a private band the cash gets used for other things. please help.

Try and cut down in calories as well as more excersise!! check the calories on everything you eat. Its really hard at first because your hunger kicks in and it takes sheer determination. im on a diet and the healthier food actually makes me feel more happier. and everytime i get a craving i think to myself"if you want to be fat then go ahead and eat this fatty food" imagine yourself being skinny in your head and think this IS what i will look like when i come off this diet. do not doubt yourself thinking that you will mess up the diet because you probably will if you doubt yourself. just think i WILL do this! and if you get REALLY hungry find something amusing to do, most people eat because they're bored. if this doesnt work then go to sleep because you cant be hungry in your sleep can you? Hope you loose weight and have the lifestyle you want! good luck

I am a 20 year old female, size 6-8, I keep up with my fitness regularly, drink tea in the day, have a balanced diet, but I have a problem with controlling my flatulence. When my body digests, my stomach makes loud roaring sounds as it does with hunger pains and random times of day. Every little amount of food, even a piece of popcorn will. Ause this embarrassing process to happen, then I cannot control my bowls. I havent had major surgeory and there isn't anything that could cause this in my family history other than breast cancer which I have not received yet. I can't even sit down for more than 5 minutes at a time, and going out with friends scares my body into trying to keep tense. Should I take referral to. My local gp for mild medication or will this pass as its been affecting me for four years now.

I developed bad breath when I was dieting. My dentist told me it's not my mouth. My partner would tell me that he could smell it. I would brush my teeth and use mouth but he could still smell it. This happened when we were at a pub one evening. That's when I discovered if I eat something with carbs eg small portion of chips, then the smell goes away. That's when I realised it's coming from my stomach. If you are sure your oral hygiene is not the cause you can try this. Obviously I don't know how many people this applies too and don't want you to become too over weight by eating too much. Also eating low carb diet can contribute to bad smells from your stomach. Hunger is another trigger for getting bad breath. My problem is I want to loose weight but often can't tell my breath smells so I am looking for advice loosing weight but not getting bad breath.

Hi, I'm 19 and have had problems going to the toilet ever since i was little, but within the past 2 years it has become much worse to the point where i am at most going once a month. Also, I find that when I go merely the 'pushing, squeezing' motion is not enough to pass a poo and I have to press with my hand between my vagina and bum to move the poo and rearrange it inside me so that it is able to come out. No matter what i do though it is always extremely painful and i have a tear on my bum so that whenever I go i bleed. I've tried many types of laxatives but with little success and these tended to cause my to excrete what appeared to be blood, but it was not the same asmfrom the tear I mentioned before. It is also a concern because I constantly feel bloated and never hunger, as a result I tend to eat little and I'm underweight with a BMI of 16. I am scared of the idea that eating any more food than I have to will just end up sitting inside my body and become harmful to me and that the next time I go to the toilet will be even more painful than the last time. Please help me because it has started to effect the way I live and is in my mind everyday about what I should eat and how it will affect me when I do eventually go... Thankyou x
