Conditions with symptom: 'infected piercing'
I had my ear piercing done when I was around seven. They were initially fine and I had no problem. One night I banged my ear and it bleed a lot. After that it become infected and after being unable to properly clear the infection I let the piercing close up. However a few years later I had my piercing redone again an infection developed and I had to let it close. Despite various creams and a course of antibacs my old piercing (which I now let close over a decade ago) still has a collection of puss. What can I do about this? xx
basically you need to open the pericing back up with a steralised needle and then get anti-septic wipes and clear round near the piercing, then you need to put anti-septic liquid on the needle and put it back through your ear. this happened to me once and after i done that process it was fine, i hope this could be of help :)xxx
Had my left upper ear pierced over a ago, it got infected was bleeding all the time. So decided to take out the piecing to heal, but I have a lump that has developed on the top, can anyone help just need to know if it will go down or get bigger ad I have had this for over a year now
I've had my viginal hood piercing almost two years now. I still have in the piercing jewelery in looking to change but as of two days ago my piercing has become quite sensitive to the touch at the bottom barbell. But its not red, inflamed, swollen, or leaking just sensitive where bottom barbell sits. Any advice on what I should do? Could it be infected after all this time? Please Help!!!
I'm thinking of getting my tongue pierced, but i have been reading some horror stories about infections on the internet and want to know more How common is it for this piercing to get infected? What things should you look out for? And what will they do if it does get infected(Like antibiotics or something)? Also whats the worst thing an infection can do to me (like permanantly affect my speech)? Because one of my friands said that they will have to cut the tongue off and im sure thats not true but just wanted to check. Thankyou.x
hey, i hade my tongue pierced about 4 weeks ago now and im 16. year there are some horror stories but if u do the after care probably, most likly wont happen. as i said i just hade myn doune and it is very easy to look after. you simply wash out your tongue after every time you eat with 50/50 mouthwash and water and it should heaal within 2 weeks.
I've had my tongue pierced a few times now. It isn't too common to get a tongue piercing infection but if you do, you should take it out. It will start to make your breath smell, even if you've just cleaned your teeth. There is no way you would get your tongue cut off and i have never heard of anyone having impaired speech from an infected tongue, maybe when you first have it done (it may take a while to get rid of the lisp). if you do get it done and are worried about it at all, just nip to your GP. Also, make sure your bar is big enough, if the bar is too small (even if it seems perfect) it will start to sort of embed itself into your tongue and it won't look nice. Hope this helped. :) x
How do i apply savlon to an infected ear piercing ?
I wouldn't. If you make up a salt water solution using hot not boiling water and rock salt. Dissolve them and then bathe the ear with a cotton pad for 5 minutes it should clear it up if not try a small amount of antiseptic. I have tried savlon once as a last resort and it made the pus gunkier and the same colour as the cream.
My doctor has told me to take my snug piercing out as it is infected and the longer it's in there the infection won't go , she said the infection is clinging to the metal bar . I went to my piercer to have it out and he said taking it out was a bad idea as if indeed it was infected it would just trap the infection, so he just put a longer bar in . I am on antibiotics already but I don't know what to do , take it out or leave it
I would probably listen to your doctor and take it out.
I have a keloid scar on my tragus piercing. I have had the piercing for a year now and have constantly cleaned it with various different products such as, salt water, sergical sirit, tea tree oil, saline drops and have also crushed an asprine to form a paste, but it does not seem to want to go. Its bright red and very noticable and crusts over. I want to know is the scar perminent or will it go? or should i just take the piercing out? if so will the lump go?
I have been using Heal Gel, which seems to be making mine smaller, but unfortunately the only place you can find it at the moment is eBay, due to licensing issues.

go to your doctor as you are right this sounds like an infection. antibiotics should clear that up fairly quickly!
