If you have long hair, keep it off your forehead as much as possible AND DO NOT POP THEM! Wash your face twice daily, cut out all junk food and sugary drinks and drink plenty of water. Don't get stressed :) I used to have loads of spots on my face and body but, after a few months of switching up my diet and routine, I only have a few small bacne scars.

Hey, I'm 22, and my tonsils have been inflamed for years, but I have no pain. I have noticed that they have vain like scars all over them and holes where I can squeeze pus out of, (gross I know) I spoke to a doctor and she said it was normal to have the pus and doesn't sound like tonsillitis. I catch tonsillitis frequently, and doctors never suggested having them removed, but they are now scared and constantly inflamed. Should I be concerned?

When my boyfriend was young he had an undescended testicle and had an operation to cure this. Since then his scar on his testicle has inflamed, it looks a little bit like a skin tag but is about 2cm in length and 2cm from the testicle. He won't go to the doctor's about this, but we're both worried it could be something other than an inflamed scar. Could this lead to health problems? or could this be something severe? Will this problem affect fertility?

I'm a 14 year old girl and I have had acne for 3 years and I hate it. I asked my parents if I could go to a dermatologist to get it checked out but they said it wasn't that bad and it'll go away eventually. They said the same thing when I was 11 and now it's gotten worse. I only get inflamed spots every so often but I still get them quite alot, they usually are there on my face for about 2-3 weeks and about 3 or 4 come on my face at a time. It looks like loads of pimples covering my face and most of them are white heads. There is not one bit of my face that is smooth and it looks constatly dirty even though my face is perfectly clean. I get so paranoid and I'm so self concious. I also have quite bad scarring from the inflamed spots that I have had. It's the kind of scarring where the spots that you have had leaves dark marks. Even when I don't pick a spot it still leaves me with scarring. I also have some on my back, my chest, my arms and my neck. I'm not worried about these though. My question is "How do get rid of my acne and acne scars?" and "How do I prevent more acne from coming on my face and anywhere else on my body?"

When i was about that age I got a special topical Zinc treatment from my GP which significantly improved the skin on my face and neck. Although yours sounds a little worse than mine was, it might be worth just asking your GP for a topical gel/cream. (Maybe you are old enough to get an appointment without your parents?) No harm in trying! Another thing you could try is wearing a very light make up such as 'bare minerals' which boosted my confidence and also stopped me from constantly touching my face which was making things worse! I'm 22 now and still don't have perfect skin but it does get better with time, don't worry!

i have found that near the flaps of my vagina it is very red and looks inflamed, its not painful or itchy so i am confused as to what it is?

I would go to the doctor it sounds like bv (bacterial vaginosis). It can be easily treated with meds.

Dear Embarrassing Bodies, Saw your recent program on erectile dysfunction. I am particularly interested in a procedure that was quickly touched upon involving clearing of blocked arteries using a wire inserted into the penis to clear any blockages in the arteries. I can find no reference to it on this website and would appreciate any info. eg. name of procedure, a more detailed description of the procedure, cause and effect, risks and possible consequences etc. I currently live in Northern France and I would be looking to use the information to discuss with my French GP. Also If I decided to undertake this surgery I would be looking to obtain the services of a Surgeon in North West France (Rennes), any knowledge of or recommendation your experts could provide as to the name of an appropriate surgeon in France would be equally gratefully received. Regards:

I wonder how your blood pressure is? Also, if I were your doctor I'd send you to a cardiologist for stress test and heart imaging. This would rule out problems with arteries, too.

hello, my boyfriend had an operation on his testicles when he was a young boy and for 4 years now the scar has been inflamed. I'm worried incase this could be something other than an inflamed scar and although it doesn't bother him, whether it will be affecting him internally? Please help, he won't go to the doctors about it and i would prefer to know if there is any major risks.

I am 30 years old and have had small swollen inflamed areas appear on both my legs always below my knee on and off since the age of 18. My Doctor has diagnosed them as erythema nodosum, she has taken blood samples from me and said everything is normal. I have a large lump currently on my right leg, it is the biggest i've ever had and it has been 9 months now and still inflamed (the longest i've ever had one for). It is painful and I know it can be related to auto immune diseases. I would prefer to see a specialist who may be able to tell me more as the pain, discomfort and my leg is not nice to look at.

I was told I had erythema nodosum 4 years ago - large red painful bumps on my legs. I stopped taking the pill and the bumps went gone down. But now I am left with the marks. They look exactly like bruses but are under the skin - I have tried everything to reduce these but nothing works... Any suggestions??

Could be due to the lap top or your diet to be honnest. If you eat fatty foods without working it off you could clog arteries or vains from my experience it can also effect bloodflow to your hair causing thinning of the hair. And with laptops I have herd they can be dangerous if you use it on your lap for a long time. Try putting it on a table or a desk. Its most likely nothing but you can allways ask your doctor. There confidential and there to help.

i am 24 years old and though i get an erection i can't get it hard enough to have sex.my left testicle's shape or placement is like horizontal as compared to the right testicle which is vertical.the left testicle also hangs a lot lower than the right one and i can see the outline of the arteries its hanging by a lot clearly . kindly help me as this has brought my life to a stand still.

Hi, my husband had a similar problem since he was a teenager. He even got prescribed viagra & cialis in his early 20s. People thought we were being stupid, but it's taken over 10 years (now 29) to get heard. His don't 'hang' - (L) testicle is there but small, and but(R) one is retracted. These produce testosterone, but his weren't producing enough (i.e. for hard enough erection). Surprisingly to us, lack of this hormone has caused a lot of other health problems. We watched the programme & decided to not be embarrased & GO TO THE GP. I'm not saying it's the same with you, but worth going to the GP and ask for a simple blood test to get testosterone levels checked just to be sure. Normal range is 10-26 I think. His decreased over time, were low when he was 19yrs, 23 and 27yrs old (same levels as an 80 year old!!) but taken us this long to get it sorted! Please go sooner rather than later! We are now looking at infertility as we didn't speak loud enough when he was your age, and now things may have advanced to a point where we cannot have kids. You may not want children now, but in the future you'll wish you went to you your doctor when you were worried. It may all be OK!! I hope this helps :)

I went to the doctor a few weeks ago and told her I thought i had piles, she examined me and because i wasnt particularly inflamed that day she did blood tests (as i have a history of crohns disease - came pack fine luckily) then prescribed me suppositories which didnt help, and made me feel bloated. Now im worried to go back again incase im not inflamed and the doctor doesnt believe me again. I've had this problem for about a year and a half now.

If you look over the comments you will see that the ages are frequently in the teens, so this age isn't weird - my three year old son had them!! A common cause of piles in young people could be from holding in bowel movements earlier in childhood and also dieting and not eating properly. Drinking more water is sooo important for everyone and helps soften stools. Also, more fibre helps move things along. Benefiber is a great product to try. Your doctor could care less so please please don't be shy - get checked out professionally as HPV (genital warts) can also appear in the anus and should be diagnosed. With piles, when you are in the shower use plain, unscented soap to clean the area (rinse thoroughly) and then gently push the "bump" back into the anus. The tight muscle of your anal sphincter can help hold the pile in and even flatten it somewhat (this is actually pushing the blood out of the tissue). For less serious piles this can help heal them.

I had this problem for 8 years, I'm only 36 and I was afraid to go out in case I'll be cought by terrible vertigo. I had so many scans, tests....done, but no one could find the problem. I've google'd the symptoms and found that it could be something to do with my spinal arteries, which were compressed. I had an operation few weeks ago and all the symptoms disappeared. Couldn't be happier. I never had my head so clear.

i am 26 i had my first baby in April last year in which it was very bad my baby had transposition of the great arteries i had to go through so much stress well when i was pregnant i did gain a lot of weight i a year on my son has been through the worst and came out very well but myself has gone my weight wont go i seem to put on more i don't eats loads and only drink water i have lots of stretch marks but that's not what bothers me its every thing else please help?!!

I'm 15, and I've had an inflamed penis for as long as I can remember. And is seriously affecting my confidence so I NEED to get it sorted. Basically the head of my penis when flaccid is red and patchy, on erect, my foreskin causes discomfort when I retract it under the head. When it Is fully retracted, it stays under the head as my head is extremely inflamed. The head could be described as severely ugly as it is extremely purple, I think i have a form of balanitis, can someone please help?!

John, there are many things that can lead to redness/ soreness on the glans of the penis. Balanitis is not necessarily as a result of sex nor is it a result of bad hygiene. It can be the result of prolonged use of antibiotics being taken for something completely unrelated to the penis because the antibiotics clear away the natural bacteria that cleans the penis thereby enabling the fungus to grow that causes balanitis. Do NOT make the mistake of washing with soap as it will make it worse. You could try using Canesten cream which is an over the counter (or internet) antifungal cream. Your mother may have some because many women use it for thrush. Stronger antifungal creams such as Nystatin require a prescription so you would need to see your GP or ring a Genitourinary clinic (GUC).

I have a a lot of fleshy stuff that gets inflamed and painful and have been worried about this also, because it does not look normal to me and seems to be at the vaginal opening/ urethral area. Been to the doc the past three weeks and today and actually asked her to examine that area and she says she doesn't notice anything, which is hard to believe for me since the area obvuiously has a large bump and flesh that is inflamed,it almost blocks my. Entire vaginal opening and the doc seems to think its normal, I am also 22 and not a virgin

Hi Shawn, I have suffered from Cysts on my face for the past 3 years, so i know exactly how you feel. At first i consulted my GP, who often gave my Penicillin when they became inflamed. However, one of these suddenly became very inflamed, purple and painful. Penicillin had no effect on this, so i decided to go straight to a Plastic Surgeon, who recommended it be removed immediately. My advice is to keep seeing a GP if it stays small, but the second it becomes painful or noticeable, go and see a Plastic Surgeon. I'm very glad i did. Hope this was helpful!

Hi, I'm 41, I've been getting tonsillitis 5/6 times a year ever since I was little, now however I get quinsy's which are extremely painful, I get prescribed 2 huge bottles of liquid paracetamol each time, & I'm often told by different GP's that I will grow out of it, I've never been referred to ENT, and my tonsils are massive all the time, it causes me to snore & sometimes choke in my sleep, & when my tonsils become more inflamed they push the little dangly thing at the back of my throat out almost at a right angle & it rubs on the very back of my tongue causing everything to become inflamed & painful, I'm so sick of feeling like rubbish so often through the year, it's totally exhausting!!
