I have Ehlers Danlos type 3, and have many digestive disorders. Current problems are difficulty swallowing (occasional) slow digestive transit, horrific gastritis both chronic and acute, I have to manually evacuate, I have a rectocele, leviator ani prolapse (over 9cm on straining, rests in correct place) possible paradoxical contraction (I'm not convinced!) and hemmorroids. Laxatives have no effect, including the ones given by hospitals before surgery, stool softeners do their job but are no help. I now suspect I have a rectal prolapse! Can anyone describe this to me? Hoping it's just bad piles but....

Hi Mandy, I also have Ehlers-Danlos type 3, but mine mostly causes widespread pain and instability of the joints However it has caused pelvic prolapse so I have had an abdominal hysterectomy and pelvic reconstructive surgery for a rectocele. I now think I have rectal prolapse. My advice is to have it checked out next time you see your doctor, or go sooner if it is worrying you or hurting you. When you live with EDS you get used to pain and other problems but you should never ignoe new symptoms Mary

Hi, i feel almost desperate for help and advice now, I've been having problems with my digestive system ever since november when i was put on 2 different types of antibiotics in the same month, one for tooth ache and one for a urine infection. I've had a colonoscopy to rule out anything more serious, but my problem is i have diarrhea 3-4 times a day everyday, i also get quite a bit of pain on the right side under my ribcage, i've had an ultrasound to check my liver and gallbladder which both look fine. it doesn't seem to matter what i eat. I started an eating plan 3mnths ago which claims to cure ibs so long as you stick to it(which i have religiously) its a food combining diet and i also take a probiotic with 14 different strains in it. But nothing seems to help, i'm only 27 and have 3 liitle ones, this has affected all of our lives as i'm often scared to be more then a few metres away from a toilet. Any ideas offered would be greatly appreciated.

If you have long hair, keep it off your forehead as much as possible AND DO NOT POP THEM! Wash your face twice daily, cut out all junk food and sugary drinks and drink plenty of water. Don't get stressed :) I used to have loads of spots on my face and body but, after a few months of switching up my diet and routine, I only have a few small bacne scars.

Hii, im 15 and have like spots on the inside of my vagina, abit like yellow heads i leave them alone but it can sometimes become alittle agitated and inflamed. i doesnt hurt or isnt itchy or anything but i was wondering if its anything i need to be worried about or even if it might be thrush? Hey, I'm 22, and my tonsils have been inflamed for years, but I have no pain. I have noticed that they have vain like scars all over them and holes where I can squeeze pus out of, (gross I know) I spoke to a doctor and she said it was normal to have the pus and doesn't sound like tonsillitis. I catch tonsillitis frequently, and doctors never suggested having them removed, but they are now scared and constantly inflamed. Should I be concerned?

When my boyfriend was young he had an undescended testicle and had an operation to cure this. Since then his scar on his testicle has inflamed, it looks a little bit like a skin tag but is about 2cm in length and 2cm from the testicle. He won't go to the doctor's about this, but we're both worried it could be something other than an inflamed scar. Could this lead to health problems? or could this be something severe? Will this problem affect fertility?

I'm a 22 year old woman with a problem, I have had this problem since I was very young, and now it's becoming a concern for me, I have always had trouble with passing stools, I would go maybe once or twice every two weeks, and even then I am straining for maybe anything up to an hour, my body has never once let me know that I would have to go, so I would literally have to force it out myself, which can be sometimes very painful. I have been to the doctors about this problem many times , and each time they would give me a new laxative, which for some reason I seem to be immune to them all, I have tried Laxido, Senocots, and many others but they just don't seem to be working, I have had piles previously, not painful at all but very annoying knowing that they're there. I am now five months pregnant with my first child and piles have once again popped up uninvited, I am worried that my digestive system might not be working as it should, I have tried high fiber diets, ate foods high in fiber, and it's just not doing the trick, when I do go my stools are just clumped together in one large stool. sorry about the details but I am stressing about this, thinking on going to the doctors about it one more time, but I know he'll only give me more laxatives.

Eat prunes. Eat 7 with 2 tall glasses of luke-warm water. Nothing else. Wait about 3 hours, and eat 7 more. STAY NEAR A BATHROOM. If you feel like you may need to pass gas, DO NOT TRUST IT! Use the toilet. I've had the same problem for years, and laxatives never cut it. No need to explain that, as I'm sure you know exactly what I mean. Prune juice is NOT the same, either. Just eat the prunes, and drink lukewarm water. In fact, never drink cold water.. it stops you up. (Don't even get me started on ice... just don't use it!) Try drinking 2 glasses of water every morning when you wake up, too. It helps to get things moving around, like it activates your digestive system or something.

Hello I am 22, and for the last couple of years I was told I had bad breath by my partner occasionally. I think the problem could be my digestive system. It could be GERD but not sure as I read it affects mostly older and overweight people but I'm quite tall and slim. My posture is not that great cause I am 6'2'' and often have to look down, also I have sunken chest which is not as bad as some cases I've seen but noticeable. I've read that can be an issue regarding acid reflux. When I was a child I had a friend who had bad back and didn't have pillows on her bed and I got into a habit of not putting my head on a pillow when sleeping. Recently I've slept with pillows but my partner says that in the night my head often hangs down at the edge of the bed which is likely to be causing the stomach juices to flow into my esophagus and mouth. Because when I put my head on a pillow I feel like I can't breath as my head is sinking into the pillow. And sometimes it causes bad breath in the morning. I often have alcohol like beers and wine and eat various foods, large portions, and often get very full. I've had bitter taste in my mouth for the last few days and last night I had a big meal with lots of alcohol and this morning with the bad taste in my mouth I also have a burning sensation in the esophagus. Can someone tell me what it is, is it GERD or some other acid reflux problem, How should I change my diet and lifestyle. Thanks Ante

I'm not an expert but if you think about it, having chronic diarrhoea for such a long time is bound to have caused some damage in your digestive system... Until that damage is fixed the symptoms won't go away... I was put on an all liquid diet (only medicated fresubin milk shakes and water) for 8 weeks, the idea behind this is not to help the body by giving it important supplements but actually to give the digestive system a total rest... Things that we would think are good for our digestive system such as fibre are very difficult to digest so should be avoided primarily if there is inflammation... Go and Talk to your GP about a possible colonoscopy to see if there is indeed inflammation in your bowel or even maybe ulceration... After 20 years there is bound to be I think... Also look at your diet... Try a period of time avoiding things that are difficult to digest to give your digestive system a holiday... Things like skins on fruit and vegetables... Nuts... Grains... Fat... Stick to white breads and pasta for a little while... Remember that the idea behind this is not necessarily healthy living but rather focusing on your digestive system...

hi, i have difficulty going the toilet to empty my bowels, i am 18 years old and have always had difficulty with my bowel. my doctor said i have a slow digestive system. hwoever, i have to push really hard to go and even then they are tiny little balls, i cannot remember the last time i emptied my bowels properly. i have recently noticed that my bum hole doesnt open when i push to emty my bowels and i have to try and open it larger with my finger to get my poo out however they are still only small hard and circular. i am quite concerned that i need to help these out as they are so small they should just come out with little pressure. i have also noticed when i push my bum hole pushes out slightly and i am wondering wether this is normal or i should go 2 my doctor about it.please reply and help me. also is there anyting i can take to help speed my digestive system up as i continually have stomach ache due to constipation.

Hi there, I've had IBS for about 8yrs now, I don't know if there is anyone else out there that has experienced what I have but I thought Id post on here and share my thoughts! I had Cancer in my femur when I was 17, which was treated by Chemotherapy and surgery, I believe I have developed a sensitivity in my digestive system since then, I feel like the chemo striped my digestive track of all its natural goodness and therefore leaving me with IBS, which has only got worse over the last 8 yrs, I can control it with diet but life is too short to get hug up on a little bit of poo... I have no problem going to the toilet as and when needed, where ever I may be, I go! lol But on a more serious note I do wish that there was a simple cure, I would be able to do a few things that Ive been putting off in life! Anyway Im glad there are people out there that have been about to share their experiences!!!

Could be a problem with your digestive system and not an actual issue with oral hygiene. But like the others have said, brush your tongue.

This was just the diet to give your digestive system a break as it doesn't put any stress on your bowels...it's not a long term solution..

I have had severe digestive system issues...ulcerative colitis most of my adult life. My ability to digest and absorb foods properly to get the nutritional benefit was greatly diminished. I knew nothing would be "quick fix", since I had been digestively compromised for so many years. It turns out, my intestinal bacteria were probably totally out of whack from all the trauma and medications my digestive system had endured over all these years. I researched and decided on the Lady Soma Fiber Cleanse - I ordered online after being recommended by my GP. When I received these, I immediately started taking them. I did feel a little dizzy after but I know this response just means the Deep Immune is doing its job, killing off bad bacteria and replacing it with good bacteria. After my body finished dumping all those toxins, I STARTED FEELING BETTER THAN I HAVE FOR YEARS! I will continue to use Lady Soma's Fiber Cleanse It is probably a good addition for everyone's general health, but it can also be life changing for some people like me.

Rosacea signals a problem with digestion believe it or not. There is a bacteria that develops in the stomach/intestines when under long term stress (or with aging) when the stomach is not producing enough stomach acid to properly diest your food. You probably have brittle fingernails and possibly indigestion or gas or bloating as well. Also broken capillaries on your face or the whites of your eyes. I am a Certified Natural Health Practitioner, primarily after what I went through getting to the cause and "cure" of rosacea twenty years ago. You need supplemental HCL with Pepsin, digestive enzymes, and probiotics to aid your digestion and some things to heal your gut. I promise you, you can get dramatically better, and even get rid of the rosacea, as I have by healing your digestive system. I can go into further detail if you contact me. Please know you can do this and you will feel better!

I can fully understand your situation as have been through this myself. After researching the Internet I cam across a site that mentioned chlorophyll. This cleanses your digestive system and deodorises your insides. It has other benefits too. I bought the liquid from amazon. I hope this helps

Candida diet Choloryphyll internal deodorant Very low sugar diet Water often to flush the system Digestive enzymes/probiotic Exercise (Heard magnesium too) **Works**

Hey!, I had it bad too!. I couldn't work and it ruined my life in everyway it could. I got prescribed with anti biotics when I got agonising pain around my intestines. I felt like I wanted to be sick and go to the toilet at the same time and it dissapeared after the anti biotics but it came back within a few weeks and I had to go to hospital urgently. They gave me morphine it was that bad. I decided to go on a lactose free diet and gluten free for a while because the doctors where useless and couldn't seem to see the problem. The diet was difficult but it made a difference. I've recently (past 6 months) been taking optibac super strength probiotics and they have save my life!!. They have 20billion healthy bacteria in them and it sorts your digestive system out. I strongly advise you to do some research on your digestive system and this product. Check the reviews too!they're fantastic!! my problems dissapeared within 2days of taking these probiotics. You might have some kind of vitamin dificency which is killing the good bacteria that gives you this IBS in the first place So you could get a mineral hair analysis test too but make sure your results are read by a doc who is trained in reading them properly. Good luck! and I hope this helps! :). Let me know how you get on!

I'm 15 and I have had them off an on for years. I currently have them. There's nothing wrong with you. Most pharmacies have medicine that kills them. Just don't worry. My doctor told me I will get them off and on for the rest of my life because I have a weak digestive system. It absolutely does not mean you are gross. Most people get them once or twice then never worry about them again. Just get some medicine and you will be fine :)

Hi, I suffer with PMT too and life is becomming very challenging. My digestive system gets really bad too. I am interested in your comment about a shuddering in your abdomen. I get like what I'd describe like vibrations or popping. It feels like how an effervescent tablet looks like dissolving in water. Have you had any answers about what could be causing your shuddering? From what you describe I could be suffering with the same thing.

I have had IBS for about 5 years now. The most effective treatment I found to be a daily probiotic pill which restores the good bacteria in your digestive system. I still sometimes get the gas and cramps of IBS but the symptoms are very mild compared to what I went through before. The first probiotic I used was the brand name Align. Now I just use the store generic brand which is much cheaper. I live in the US so I am not sure what brands are available in the UK.

My 7 year old son has had loose stools since birth. I have taken him to the doctors and they have taken stool samples and blood tests but can not find anything wrong with him. At times he has accidents and can not get to the toilet in time. They can be quite explosive and his tummy is often distended. We tried a lactose free diet but did not have any improvements. The doctor has put it down to him having a fast digestive system and put him on daily imodium tablets. Do you have any other ideas to try?

The ulcers is an indication of impaired immune system. I have given up on cream like bonjela etc. Everytime I hv breakouts of ulcer on tongue, cheek, lips and inflamed gum, I wll take heavy dose of vitamin C which is for me is 2 tablets of 1000 mg of vit C. Recently i found out that my vitamin D level is below normal. Vit D is slso crucial for strong immunity. I m not an outdoor person so there us little chance for my body to mske vit D. I also read that u need vit B for healthy immune system. I wll include this in future. My ulcer has stop. It comes back when ever i slack in taking my vitamin... So there is incentive for me to continue. I hope this post will help those with similar ailment
