    Ingrowing Pubic Hair

A pubic hair that grows at an abnormal angle and then turns back into the skin, leading to the formation of a pustule or papule, which then becomes infected. Read more →

Hey. I had an ingrowing hair on my vagina earlier this year. It took me a couple of days but I managed to get it out. A few weeks ago I got a lump in the exact same place as the previous ingrowing hair. I popped the whitehead, I can't see the hair? I have a hair growing out of the side of the lump. I've been putting tee tree oil on it, it's reduced the lump loads. Is this an ingrowing hair? :/

I have always shaved my pubic area, and usually have to do round my anus aswel, I'm used to the odd ingrowing hair on my pubic bone area, and have always managed to get rid of them. But lately I think I have had an outburst of them between my anus and the opening of my vigina, I have a cluster of small, hard lumps, tiny, but theres alot, I can't see them as it's such an awkward area, but I can feel them, and so I can't bring myself to have oral sex for these little lumps. What can I do??

I can't stand the red spots and I find it really embarrassing and haven't had sex for a few weeks because of it and I don't want to shave incase it irritates it, help!

Try using a hot wax or lycon wax it doesnt stick to the skin only the hair so it doesnt irritate the skin and bacause of this less likely to get ingrown hairs! I had same problem and have been using lycon wax for a couple of months now and I literally have about 90% less ingrown hairs and some areas do not grow back at all! there are also products you can use like skin doctors ingrow go which dries out the red spots and helps bring the hair to the surface. Hope this helps

I have ginger hair and ginger pubic hair, my friend also has ginger hair but she has black pubic hair. Will my pubic hair always stay ginger or will it change? I think its quite embarrassing! If i have children later on in years will the child be born with ginger hair or black as that is what my husband has?

its perfectly normal to have 2 toned hair. my girlfriend has naturally blonde hair & she's really dark downstairs. im naturally ginger & have quite blonde pubic hair. its perfectly normal & if you really dont like it there is pubic dye if it gets too much. :)

I love my ginger pubes and my boyfriend does too! I haven't heard of them changing, but as the other person said, you can always dye them. As for your kids, it's just down to genes. Ginger is a recessive gene so the chances are smaller. If your husband has a recessive ginger gene (more likely if he has any ginger relatives, past or present) then there is a 1 in 4 chance of your kids being ginger. If he does not carry the gene (much greater chance if not european) then as far as I know there is no chance of your gingerness being passed down!

I found an ingrowing hair a few days ago only because I noticed a red hard lump in the pubic area, I managed to pull it out but the red lump is still there. It doesn't hurt or anything but its turned into a pimple, I popped it but will it just go down like a normal spot or do I need to go to the doctors?

I suffer with ingrowing hairs. And m the master at removing them now. Just a word of advise. Never pop or bust the red spot. This may cause scaring and in turn cause repeated in growing hairs. I recommend you just leave it alot e and if it get full of puss to see your gp. Take my word for it you dnt want massive big holes which is what I am now having to deal with :-( x

I'm a 13 year old girl and I have I think a normal amount of pubic hair and a little bit of armpit hair. But now my pubic hair is starting to fall out. What's happening?

I don't think there is a relation to the growth of pubic hair to when you get your period. I started getting pubic hair when I was 13 1/2 y.o and didn't start my period till I was 15 y.o. My younger sister however started everything pretty much all at the same time at 13 y.o. Just got to wait till your body is ready. Hope this helps your question.

I would say no because I started getting pubic hair and breast development when I was 10 and I got my period 11 days after my 12th birthday so they might be in time they might not be, so it could be less then two years or maybe more

I have always shaved my pubic hair and I sometimes have little spots on the side of my vagina and I get very bad ingrowing hairs, which actually feel like little lumps. I went to touch one lump the one day and gave it quite a squeeze and lots and lots of puss and blood came out, I have had another one as well and they're not getting any better. I have lots of scars from them as well, I am in a relationship and I do feel very comfortable with my boyfriend but I hate my vagina! I am so embaressed by it and can't even go and get my pubic hair waxed at a salon because I am too scared to show them all the ingrowing hairs, what can I do? This is the first time I have spoken to anyone about this.

I used to be the exact same. However I found by regularly exfoliating and trying not to squeeze or pick at ingrown hairs they have cleared! I still get them now and then and I have scars from the years of 'attacking' the hairs but they are notably better. Definitely has made me feel alot more comfortable. I never used to be confident about my vagina area around my boyfriend but am now. Hope this helps.

Every time I shave my pubic hair, after two or three days... Well when my hair starts to grow back, the skin around the hair is red. sometimes small... zit ? Well it looks like acne.... They grow on my vagina where I shaved. My skin becomes flaky and it itches like hell ! But all that stops when my pubic hair grows back. Is that ingrowing hair ?? I tried putting baby oil every day on the part that I shaved.... It did'nt really do anything.

Hi - I had an ingrown hair grow so bad that I had to go to A&E. I haven't learnt my lesson as I still shave. However the best thing which did work was getting it waxed ladies. Its more expensive and time consuming but it didn't cause any ingrown hairs. Hope this helps ladies.

I have had ingrowing hairs for a while now I am getting really depress about this. I have tried waxing and so many creams to help the ingrowing hair but will not work,I was wondering if they is any products or anything that will stop ingrowing hair (with out laser)?

I often get ingrowing hairs around the niple of my breasts, At times you can see the hair travelling under the skin as it grows. Whilst other times ingrowing hairs get infected and i have to literally dig them out. I dont usually know ive got an ingrowing hair until the infection flairs up. I dont usually trim the hairs around my breasts but do tweeze them. Is there any way I can prevent these ingrowing hairs? or an alternative way of dealing with infected parts?
