Hi, I'm a 27 year old female with no children. I have a small internal bulge between my vagina and anus. It doesn't hurt and is firm to touch, I only feel it when I go to the toilet and clean myself. It feels raised as I wipe. Could this be internal piles or could it be a prolapsed rectum?

Go to a doctor at once - something that is firm to touch is more concerning than something soft and fleshy. It needs investigating.

You need to say to your doctor that you want a referral to a gynaecologist, they can't see endometriosis on a scan unless there are obvious endo cysts on your ovaries. Stay firm and stand your ground, trust your own body, the longer you leave it the more damage can be done. Take care and good luck.

Hi there, Over the last two years I have appeared to start sweating considerable amounts I think it might be related to anxiety in some way, which is weird because I'm a very confident person, however I feel that now whenever I'm in an awkward/new social situation I start pouring with sweat! Obviously the more I think about it the worse it gets! I feel like I'm in a sauna as my internal temperature just gets so hot, it seems to be triggered so easily! My back and forehead are the worst places by far! I have had blood tests but nothing has shown up! I'm no doctor but j feel that it must be due to my internal body temperature regulator ( hypothalamus) obviously this is just a presumption but it seems like the only logical explanation! It is really getting me down and to the point where I'm becoming depressed because of it and don't want to go out in social situations! Please help!!

Hello! I had a doctor misdiagnose me with Ulcerative Colitis when I actually just had IBS when i was younger. She treated me with 40mgs. of Prednisone daily for 3 years straight which lead to me having to have 2 hemmoroidectomies (spelling?) due to the Prednisone thinning out my skin so much. My surgeon had to leave an internal hemorrhoid in me for blood supply reasons. It's now ten years later and the internal hemorrhoid prolapses daily and there's visible pink flesh that protrudes only on one side of the rectum. My question is can this be this be a partial rectal prolapse if it's only on one side of the rectum? I was also just recently diagnosed with having PFD and have to wait 2 months to see a colorectal surgeon. Thank you for your help!

Hello! I was recently diagnosed with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and have to strain excessively to have a normal bowel movement every morning. If I have an internal hemorrhoid that protrudes on the left hand side when I have a bowel movement that is extremely painful and pink flesh is also visible after each bowel movement but only on the side where the internal hemorrhoid comes out. Is this a partial rectal prolapse or is it normal to see some pink flesh also protrude due to the internal hemorrhoid being flared up and coming out? Sorry to get so graphic but I'm very concerned and can't get into see a surgeon for months even though I stressed to them how bad this is on a daily basis. I've also had prior surgery to that area in the past if that helps any. Thank your for your help in advance!

    thanks for ur answer.

For about 2 years i have been suffering with abdominal pain. I have a lot of excess wind that happens internal and also external and have to really press down hard on my small bowel on the left hand side to try to relive the pain. for the last 4 months i have also been getting pain on my lower right side at my hip level just above the pubic area. It is very uncomfortable and feel like it is burning, it gets worse at night i also get stabbing pains near my belly button. It is driving me mad constantly being in pain every day with my stomach! at first i thought the lower right pain maybe my ovary cause of the area and it got worse 2 weeks out of the month so docotor sent me for an internal scan which was clear! Does anybody suffer anything like this or know if it is all IBS? Even when i dont eat i get pain.

I have also notices small black dots on my finger tips and fingers, think they are a type of wart, could I have gotten these also from my genetals?

What about consulting a skin specialist on this..

Think I've got this. Started off very subtle and I couldn't describe my feeling as its not internal, doesn't sting after going to the toilet like cystitis does. Had internal, urine sample tests and all clear. Waiting for my doctor to come back from leave to see him again as its starting to really get me down. It's a periodic discomfort, not there all the time. Are anyone else's symptoms similar?

Try drinking pineapple juice, this may help to an extent, also take pro-biotic (acidphillus) .. you may also want to try chlorophyll charcoal tablets from holland and barrett they are an internal deodarizer, or you could try Nature ways Chlorofresh liquid natural 16oz. It is another internal deodorizer and gets rid or odours, these are all reasonable cheap options, I hope this can help :))

hello, i am 21 and have PCOS, i have been to the doctors and had the blood tests, i have an ache in my lower abdominal area, it comes and goes, and is more irritating than anything, i couldn't possibly go to the doctors if they had to do an internal examination, (which is the only reason as to why i haven't been) as i am not confident in myself at all, i cannot think of anything worse. is there anyway they can have a look at what's going on without an internal examination,

I got sent to the hospital and had an external ultra sound scan on my stomach which confirmed my PCOS diagnosis. However I have suffered with lower abdominal pain for over 10 years, sometimes so strong I can't stand up have to sit down or lay on my stomach to ease it. All the doctors say it is not related to my PCOS but I am sure it is, it is too closely linked to mood swings I get with PCOS and my crazy cycle.

Hi..the same happened to me. I went to the doc 9 years ago with the same problems and had an internal. They said nothing was wrong. Ive been back and forth since then and 6 years later through arguing with nhs they told me it was pcos. Keep at the doc and demand further blood tests and internal. Theres medications that are very helpfull and would decrease your problems if not slowly then altogether.

i went to the chemist and got some cream for the internal and external...i done the internal one and by the time i got to bed my vagina felt like it was burning!! really sore it was but the next day it was fine until i put the external cream on...it went sore again...i think you have to do this course for 3days it aint as bad as what it was but its still a little bit uncomfortable but not as imflamed anymore...so i hope it clears after tomorrow!

Hi AJ. When I was about your age something like that happened to me. Wondering if you have any mucus too when going? If the blood is bright red it is fresh, dark red could indicate an internal bleed. Sometimes anal fissures can occur from irritable bowel problems, which could mean your insides have taken a bit of a bashing & caused a tear. However there are many different reasons for bleeding & when it is causing distress it is best to get it checked out. The dr may want to do the finger examination but you can just ask for a referal if you prefer. However you will probably need to get an internal done. It's a bit embarrasing but 15 mins or less of embarrassment is better than the problem getting worse.

I am a 55year old woman have had 2 Polyps removed during colonoscopy`s, noticed bleeding and mucus again a year after last polyp was removed , doctor told me it was due to internal piles ( but I have already been told I dont have internal piles ) I also have abdominal bloating, would I be able to get the test shown on last nights show..... grandfather died of bowel cancer

Scheriproct is for hemmies (piles) I have no idea why your GP would prescribe this for fissures, I second what lianne says, go back and ask your GP for either Rectogesic or Diltiazem, these will give you the best shot at healing your fissure, you will also need to adjust your diet accordingly and drink plenty of water, if this fails, it means your fissure could already be chronic and in most cases will require surgery (LIS) Lateral Internal Sphincterotomy which is a small procedure to cut the internal sphincter and help stop the painful spasms, which I've had done. Good Luck

HI, I'm 42 years old & 6 months ago I notice blood in with my stools but, only occasionally. I went to visit my local GP & had a internal which confirmed the diagnoises & was told they were internal & small. I'm not experiencing any pain so feel luckly. Just recent I returned to my GP because I bleed everytime I go to toilet and some occaision find a little blood in my pants; is this normal symptoms? & my GP reassured me this is normal. I seek your advice for a second opinon as I'm finding myself worrying as my Aunti & Nan both died through bowl cancer.

I am so so glad I read these comments, although I'm nearly in tears. I have had chronic bouts of cystitis on and off since I was 16. I'm now 32 so I've been suffering like this for half my life. In the last couple of years it has got much worse, but every internal exam and urine sample comes back healthy. I had a laproscopy four years ago which found Endometriosis, but was told I should be pleased to know that my bladder was fine. Of course I'm not pleased! I want them to find something wrong so it can get fixed! I'm now starting the whole process again with a new doctor, so more internal exams and more negative results. I do plan to print this page out and take it to her though. I hadn't heard about the diet changes before and will look into this as well. It is definitely something to know I'm not the only one, although I truly wish there were none of us.

I have had this problem for many years and have learned all kinds of coping mechanisms when in a social situation e.g if I know that when at a cocktail party I will have to hold something in both hands I'll say I'm not hungry .If I have to speak to a group I tend to condense what I have to say, which doesn't make me look very bright. The internal suffering is beyond comprehension for anyone who does not suffer in this way.I have tried internal dialogue.Nothing has worked.I am involved in many things.......more than most of my friends soI have not allowed this to stop me but,I pay a very heavy price each time I go out. When dining I choose food that will be easy to eat e.g. Never eat soup, sandwiches are easier. Everyone who has this debilitating illness has my total sympathy and in a bizarre way I'm glad I'm not alone

i suffer from anal incontinence after an injury during child birth which was not fixed properly...i have physio on my pelvic floor and i am now starting physio for my anus...i take Imodium and have a special diet but i still have a lot of accidents and constant 'jelly like' leakage! :o i hope the new physio will help, my consultant talked about SNS last time i saw her...not sure if it would work for me as my anal sphincter (internal and external) are very badly damaged as well as having a unusually short anus and a thin internal sphincter LOL not looking great, does anybody know if you can still have SNS if the muscles are very damaged?? :) thanks xx

My daughter has just been to the doctors again today . She's only had sex once, ever, that was 6 weeks ago. She's on the oestrogen pill , because of heavy painful periods. Has been over a year. When she was 15 she had an abdo scan through painful heavy periods. They wouldn't do an internal. Over the last year she's had lots of discharge , bleeding between periods. Bad pelvic pain . She's 17 . She had to have tests rule out std's , swabs and urine, which came back clear. Today she had an internal. We had to really push for this. The doctor was a woman and was lovely. Turns out she has a cervical ectropian. Google it. Sounds like your problem. Hope this helps.

Sounds like HPV warts I am afraid. See your GU clinic. They can prescribe Imiquimod to clear the skin tag type warts on the outside. This may reduce the warts on the inside too. 3 - 6 months treatment. If that doen't clear the internal warts surgery is an option. You may require repeated surgeries to get rid. Receptive sex spreads them and smoking prolongs your suffering. Consider abstaining from sex. Is your partner OK with being the receptive partner? I have had internal warts for a year and a half and have had cryo, and surgery twice - and guess what - they are still going strong. Gone down from about 15, to 8 and now there is about 3 of them that I can feel, there may be smaller ones. I will find out when I go for my 3rd surgery. When I quit smoking 4 weeks ago, the warts have stopped growing and one of them has reduced in size. Do not smoke.

I have suffered with Pruritus Ani for years -used hydrocortisone ointment to break any itch-scratch cycles, but with no lasting solution (to be honest Paul seemed less than convinced by Dr Pixie's 'solution'- I would welcome a follow up after 6-12 months) G.P.s seem to lack a basic curiosity about why this occurs. I know (as one does with one's own body) that there is increased rectal moisture, but inevitably any internal examination is conducted with lubricant, nullifying any observations. The recent Radio 4 programme on gut flora ('Gut Bacteria') reveals the lack of understanding of this most basic yet vital internal ecosystem which we regularly bombard with antibiotics. Undoubtedly itch-scratch is an aggravating symptom of Pruritus Ani but it is simplistic to cite it as the cause.

Doctors say this is a tricky subject. People can suffer with an itchy bottom for years and get no lasting help. Simply Soothing Wipes are specially formulated for this problem. Made in the UK. Alcohol free. read the testimonials. very effective.

I honestly don't think they have any idea, I mean how many people do you find just stop the itching and bang its cured. Why if you use a steroid cream, prevent the itching for maybe weeks then it still returns. How long are you supposed to not itch for? Its scary how little doctors know yet they play with cloning and genetics. Love to see a follow up if he was cured, that's what you want to achieve, not management
