Hi, I seem to suffer with extreme itchiness when I've nicked or cut myself (shaving for example). i know itching usually means its healing but the itching is so intense i scratch until the whole surrounding area bleeds. the itching seems to spread further outwards from the original site. It becomes unbearable at times. I've had this problem on my legs, hands and very lower back. how can I ease the itching?

Hi, my name is kimberley, and im writing in regards to a rash i have recently had on my fingertips. It started about 3 weeks ago, and began with just extreme itchiness, especially at night. I noticed little blisters on my hands after itching. Recently it does not itch atall, but on the one hand & finger in particular, its suddenly flared up. All around the fingernail the skin is red and inflamed. When i look closely at the rash, its almost like theres tiny little bloodspots under the skin. This does not itch anymore, but the skin around my finger feels tight, and i dont have much feeling in the finger, it almost feels numb. I work as a full time beauty therapist, and constantly cleanse my hands between each client, im not sure if this would be anything to do with my problem. Could anyone please give me an insight of what this may be? Ive read up on scabies, and the symptoms are not the same, as i am not itching anywhere else.

Are you getting a allergic reaction to the chemical/products..??? Kimberely, I have heard of tradesman after years of using products examples tiler - glues, bricklayers-cement, have from years on nothings all of sudden have become allergic by the products they use every day.. I would seriously consider this, and go and seek a medical opinion on this regardless of how it came about. When you see one, tell him your occupation..

I have got what I think is prickly heat, I have had it for years every time the weather gets a bit hotter or if I go abroad. Usually its not too bad but this year it has come out in huge lumps all over my hands, chest, legs and arms. I have tried antihestimine tablets/cream but even the non-drowsy stuff makes me sleep ALL day. I have tried hydrocortisone cream and calamine lotion but none of these seem to stem the itching or it getting worse. Also it is making me lose so much sleep through itching through the night so I am terribly irritable and I dont want to go out and do anything... PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi, I also suffer from prickly heat but I've found that using Piz Buin Allergy sun cream really works for me. I put it on all over about 20 minutes before going out in the sun & I still get a few itchy spots but not half as bad as without this cream! Give it a go I hope it works for you too!

I also suffer from prickly heat and have spent 100s of pounds looking for sun creams and a cure is there anybody out there that can help or use my body as a test.carol.

I have had severe itching all over my body for quite a while now. At first my doctor thought id had an allergic reaction to washing powder but when the medicine didnt help i began to look into what it could be on the internet. When i went back to the doctor he confirmed what i thought and that i must have scabies, though his only reason for this was due to the rash obviously and one or two blisters on my hands. Since the treatment the itching hasnt went away and im scared that im doing some serious damage to my skin. My lega are in a mess and i never wear dresses without tights as im embarrassed as to how they look. My groin area and underarms are pretty bad and have raised (slightly hard lumps) that are purple-ish in colour.. ive had a look on the internet and this appears to be swollen lymph nodes. But i basically have no idea what ive got and am worried it could be a STD or something even worse. Ive also started to get headaches which ive never had a problem with before but im not sure as to whether this is due to stress with uni or in relation to my itching. I really dont want to go back to the doctor again as ive been constantly at the doctors for the past 8months or so due to lady issues and i feel like im annoying them. Do you have any idea what is wrong with me?

Speaking from experience it is unlikely you have a long term medical problem given that it has only started one year ago. Speak to the doctor about the Iontopheresis treatment it sounds more appropriate. Mind you after the treatment the saliva in your mouth dries up so I would recommend some oily foods to eat.

Im EXACTLY the same, i get sweaty hands feet and armpits! i went to the ddoctors and they also gave me a rolling thing to roll over my hands, when i put it on my hands dry up but they go all wrinkly and dont stay dry for that long! when i have to do dancing with boys in P.E its embaressing because i have to explain the problem! PLEASE can someone help me find a cure for this, i hate it and i dont want to have it for any longer! :(

I'm 42 and just been diagnosed with guttate psoriasis 5 days ago. I had eczema as a baby, asthma and hayfever. My eczema only affects my hands now due to my work - but doctor gave me exorex lotion. Is there anything anyone can suggest to relieve intense itching? My arms are the worst - this appeared within last 6 weeks and took 3 weeks to cover my arms in about 90 red marks. The scales have gone - but my arms, legs, shoulder, thighs, back and scalp are affected. I'm wondering if I'm allergic to the medication as I had no itching until I started the exorex and the liquid paraffin 50/50. Have sat in the sun this week and feel this has helped but it's been so hot and I'm fair skinned with freckles. I bought T-Gel shampoo and that has helped a lot. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks. janet

I have had scalp psorasis since i was a little girl. I have tried every cream every shampoo and none work. I have been on vitamin d spray for just over 3 weeks and it has completely cleared YAYY!!!! There are so many benefits of vitamin d spray as they tell you to stay out of the sun which is ridiculous its the best thing for many things. I highly recommend you buy this. You spray it under your tounge once a day. Instead of taking months to get in your system with pills it enters your system in 30minutes. Please try you will be amazed

My 7 year old has Eczema on the palms of her hands which starts with a deep itching pain below the skin and then blisters/bubbles which eventually crack. We use steroid creams, emolient and cotton gloves. Has anyone tried any other means of treatment or prevention? She has suffered this since she was 3 and it has got worse.

It sounds like the same eczema I have which is called Pompholyx. I have found a product which helps around the house (which may translate to when your daughter is playing) called 'Gloves in a Bottle'. It is available on line, not sure where you'd find it on a high street. I only use Dove because it has no soap in it. Handling tomatoes and potatoes has a profound effect - my husband is now chief potato peeler!!! LOL! Keep on with the steroid cream - I just apply at night - and the gloves may make her hands hot which has the opposite effect to that which you're looking for. If it gets really bad, you may think about bandaging it, just to keep the dirt out. Hope this is helpful for you...good luck! xx

Try applying the emolient liberally to her hands, put a melolin dressing on each palm and secure with tape. Then cover with a tubigrip. Try and keep them on as long as your daughter can manage without get wet or dirty. Have you tried to discover if there are any causes which can aggravate it?

I have been informed of my having Dupuytren`s Contracture by my GP (2012), in both hands this giving me three years in which I`d lose use of both hands. Two others in the family (both Females)also have this condition. My question yet unanswered by anybody is: Why are my hands/fingers being effected in the exact opposite to that of Dupuytren`s? I am unable to bend my fingers so Why is this so, and is it possible that my hands are being effected by two conditions at the same time the second being Carpel Tunnel Syndrome? If so, what treatments are available and what are the prospects of regaining full use of my fingers?

Hi, I'm 14, and I've had this constant itching in my ear for the past 6 months or so. It's on the inside and I end up itching my ear about 20-30 times a day just to try and relive it! It's driving me nuts! It's only in the right ear, but my left one produces really clear liquids wax, but doesn't itch. This itching of the right ear goes right down the side of my neck, from the ear, round the back of the jaw and then toward my tonsils and that general area. I don't want to go to the doctors cause its not really serious... My mum said it might be to do with the fact I'm growing but I've not had it for my whole life.... Please if anyone knows how to stop it it would be so greatly appreciated!! :)

My instep of my feet itch but no bumps and my palms of my hands itch all the time but my feet and hands have no bumps on them at all... I also get itching on my forehead it is really getting me down my GP has perscribed antihistamines which I take every other night, if I don't I am itching all night and getting NO sleep! I went to the doctors a few months ago for my itching skin, with no rash or symptoms. He suggested it may be scabies, however I did not have any white marks. White lines on the skin is a key symptom of scabies.

Hello, I'm 16 years old and about 2 days ago, patches of raised red lumps appeared all over my hands (back of hands, palms, right up to the fingernails) and all over my feet and toes. They are extremely itchy but seem to go down when I wash my hands. The itching tends to get worse at night though and the lumps are now spreading up to my wrists. Anyone want to hazard a guess?

Dave, I am a 40 yr old male and I started with vitiligo in the same place and with the intense itching about 5 yrs ago. It has now spread onto my hands too but it is quite common to get it round the genitals and bum area so its nothing strange at all. Antibiotics and thrush cream completely stopped my itching but the vitiligo will always be here to stay. Scratching or itching the skin will often start off a new white patch.

I've had them quite a few times, but they have now stopped itching, I'm a 13 year old girl. Another thing is I was showering when I noticed bits of transparent things when I touched my vagina but I don't know if it isor isn't worms haha, I really need to know. And another thing is I think I have got rid of them in my anus there is no more itching, I got rid of them being a total clean freak washing my hands all the time, using hand sanitizer and never putting my hands in my mouth and I'm positive they have gone. My problem is about the transparent things, they are LIke slimy but when I touch them it looks really weird but they Arnet moving?!? Please help

Yes those are thread worms they travel around to the opening of your anis to lay their eggs ,sometimes they get lost and end up at the entrance to your vagina any where warm they like.you can't just kill them by being clean you must get medicine from the doctor.its very common and nothing to be embarrassed about! Wash first thing in the morning to keep the eggs at bay.(the adults lay every night) and also any babies who can't lay eggs come out when it's hot (when your sleeping) so best to have a rinse 5 mins after a bath.they are transparent in colour yes you are right they do look more white in stools though.but polar bears fur is actually transparent and we think its white too because it has black skin.anyway hope that info helps please don't use too much soapy stuff on those areas as it can lead to further problems like thrush etc

Hi there I went to the doctors about my skin and they said I have a fungus infection due to to much sun, since then I've been itching majorly and make my self bleed at times, a little while after the itching I started getting little lumps come up on my hands, then they started going up my arms and I think I have a few on my legs, does any one know what this is?

I too have an itchy skin due to eczema. Mine is mainly on my feet with small areas on my hands i do tend to use fusibet which is a strong streoid and antibiotic cream periodically when my eczema is particullaly bad. But for my hands i use savlon or any other antiseptic cream i found this reduces the itching but you have to apply fairly frequently as the skin soaks it up quickly i also take antihistamine every day it helps to reduce the itching but does not remove it completly. there is one other thing i have noticed is, if i have had to use antibiotics any time for another ailment my eczema gets better. Hope this helps.

where its itching at around 5 am or similar is where the scabies still are after doctors cream I felt them still in my hands so i used tea tree oil coconut oil and that definitely stopped the itching I am not sure they are dead but i feel they are .There will still be my body reacting to the dead mites/eggs/ faeces under the skin

my skin is a little itchy all the time, all over. if i let my guard down and scratch it, it get FAR worse, VERY quickly, and this intense itching spreads even without further scratching. it gets so bad i sometimes have to curl up into a ball and, well... ball. i'm a fully grown man, and i cant go to work, cant study full time, etc... because of this itching problem. when it started, i was a pre-teen, and it was scary, because i didnt know what it was, but it was bareable. it felt like maggots or something under my skin. it started in the mini-bus from the airport to my parents car, out of the blue. seemly without cause, my hands would flare up and become useless slabs of red dotted, burning, itching, tight, dead meat. so far no doctor has been able to diagnose or treat. and no disability evaluator conciders itching to be a disability, so i'm forced to live off handouts and luck.

I developed pretty severe haemorrhoids after giving birth 3 months ago which have nearly completely healed although they left behind some rather sizable anal skin tags which fidnt bother me too much. However about 3 weeks ago i started to get severe itchy bottom my hands would be shaking it was so bad trying not to scratch. Regilarly breaking down in tears i was miserable. I have a goid diet am healthy and tried everythibg to stop itching and nothing works. Im gettibg my skin tags removed on Fri abd some small internal haemorrhoids banded but im really scared of the recovery and what if this isnt the cause of the itching then i'll have open wounds, pain and itching!!

I've had threadworms for about 4 years now, its on and off every month. I wash my hands about 5 times a day also. I do itch them but i always thought itching cured it and they went but it just comes back. It's seriously affecting me i cant take it anymore. About a year ago i took some menbedazole which cured the worms completely and this was fantastic however, again they came back!! Im gunna ask my mum to buy me more menbedazole on the weekend and then ill make sure no hands go down there so i can live a more hapyer life!!

I'm the same as you but two months ago I realised I was ripping at my hands after touching the sky remote. The buttons are rubber, I put every remote in a bad or cling film and try to avoid anything that feels like the remote buttons and that's A lot of stuff. Within 3days I noticed I wasn't itching as much on my hands but my other eczema has remained unchanged. My hands do still itch and bleed and look awful but they are slowly getting better. I don't like betnovate as I end up scratching it off after a few minutes but emovate is nice as it doesn't sting but doesn't work much. It hurts, it Looks awful and it affects everything I do from writting to picking things up so I know how you feel but I'm hopeful after 10 years (i'm 30 and had eczema since baby but hands only got bad 10 years ago)i'm on the road to understanding and eliminating the itch, chin up and stock up on anti histamines! P.s bother your gp for an allergy test, they don't do them on isle of man but i've heard they can be really useful especially if you can identify one thing that triggers it that the can test against.

I'm 53 and only developed eczema about 7 years ago. It is all over my hands and seems to be spreading quickly. The blisters are painful and disgusting looking and my colleagues make comments about my itching and rubbing lotion into my hands while at work. They don't understand the painfulness and humiliation we sufferers experience. It's terrible for my self-esteem. I can't sleep at night nor do I feel attractive when my husband takes me out. I'm tired most days because I don't sleep properly through the night. I pray a cure is found.

I was about your age when I noticed my hands were sweating. I had to wear a glove at school because I couldn't hold a pencil. I was in grade 7. I tried all those things too and nothing worked. My mom then took me to see a dermatologist and he prescribed Glycopyrrolate 3mg. WHAT A GREAT MEDICINE. I take one pill a day.I can't believe it! I can now high five and shake hands with everyone! The doctor said that I might out grow it. I,m 20 yrs old now and still take the medication. It has worked wonders!!

i have problems with my hands sweating, when ever i go to shake hands or hold my boyfriends hand, my hands are always really sweaty and i just dont know how to stop it, ive tried using alcohol gel and washing my hands excessivly but it just wont work, i need help :( and will i have this all my life or is it just a stage in my teens?
