I have the same problem as you. The key is not to get the insides of your ears wet it is hard but I have had no pain for a lond time because of it. When you have been swimming or washed your hair if you just dry your ears with a hairdryer. The other thing that has helped me is I am homeaoathic treatment and after that I have had no pain or flare ups so I hope you find this usefull and that you are not alone it is very painfull

My son has some kind of infection on the outer edge of his ears. It first appeared as white patches when he was hot after exercising, and the rest of his ears was red. It seemed to go away, but now the rash is bumpy with flaky patches of skin, which he finds really itchy. It is becoming more obvious but, unless is is an emergency, I can't get him in to see the GP for 3 weeks. Can you help. He is 8 years old.

Hello, I am a 23 yr old female and have recently had a very itchy rash on my face, neck, ears, hands, wrists, ankles and feet. I went to the pharmasist who advised me to use Antihistamine tablets (chlorphenamine maleate) three times a day. But it wasn't helping so I went to the Doctor who advised me use Betnovate cream twice a day and aqueous cream to soothe the itchiness. Although it has gone from my face and neck, it does remain on my ears, hands wrists and ankles and feet and are still appear to be very itchy and skin remains to be flared up. I do believe it was due to allergic reaction due to a new shower gel and body lotion and therefore have stopped using it but still have the allergic reaction. Please help.

Heaps of people are allergic to nickel/ and / or chromium - Get some patch testing done and also a full blood test and food RAST and allergy test done. If no result the next thing is a biopsy and skin scraping of your skin to see if its anything else. Also Lyme's disease from ticks and other things can cause rashes. A chemist said to try (milk mixed with dissolved aspro)and rub a few times a day. goes away in 2 weeks so I read? I'm yet to try it though - the milk alone I have tried & it does help with the itch I found. Good Luck - lots of people are suffering with the same issue - including me! I have a very itchy rash on (my hands - top crease of my bottom - and the nape of my neck)My hands are very red - crack and bleed - are very itchy - and I at my wits end with my rash. I am off to Dr AGAIN today to see if the skin scraping has found anything - already done full blood test & RAST allergy test - to no avail. Donna

I have had tinnitus for i don't know how long. I'm a 30 yr old female. i do like loud music... not thrash though. My tinnitus can range between ringing, druming, humming, buzzing etc and can get louder suddenly and then disappear and also be very loud after a concert or going to a pub that plays live music. I am used to it now and can ignore it but i have a question... i get really itchy ears and i create a suction with my hand over my ears and the rub it to relieve it. It does the job but is this making the tinnitus worse? and do you get dizzyness with it also?

I have had psoriasis for four years now it is horrible it started on my scalp then spread to my ears and both toe and finger nails. I hate people seeing it especially on my ears, someone once asked me if i had burnt my ear its that bad. Its itchy and constantly flaking i;ve had various creams and shampoos which seemto make it worse I dont know what to do next. My doctor just sends me on my way which is really annoying me. Also my baby is getting it on her ears now, apperently its genetic but nobody in my family before me has ever had it. It is a shame there is yet to be a cure.

Hi - where did you get your treatment done? I have three keloids on my ears. They cut them off before but they have grown back bigger and they are still growing. Would be interesting to hear your experice. When you had your treatment, were your scars still growing?

I have suffered with my ears for years because i have tinnitus and sort of have excessive build up of ear wax and i feel like my ears are starting to clog up again cause i feel weak and slightly tired but i hate using olive oul and drops cause it makes my ears worse, is there any way i can make my ears better without it affecting my hearing or tinnitus?

Take your hearing aids out for as much as possible, avoid putting other things in your ears. Try not to get your ears wet. Wear a shower cap over your ears when swimming and washing your hair. That's what the doc told me.

I had my ears pierced when I was about 13, they got infected and were very painful so I had to take my earrings out and let them close up. I then had little lumps in my ears. I got my ears repeirced and since I the lumps have got bigger,I am now 17 and the lumps have stayed the same size for years but are still quite big, It just looks terrible and I am really conscious of it i can no longer wear my hair up, I always have my hair don covering my ears, please help!

Maybe when you let them close up some air might have gotten stuck while they were healing? My third holes did the same thing when I let them close up, but not noticeable. This probably isn't the correct answer, but it's just a thought(:

After getting my ears pierced as a teenager keloid scars grew on the back of both my ears. I under went surgery to have them removed, I was lucky as the scars didn't grow back. Just a word of warning - don't try an pierce your ears again - I'm now 25 and have lumps on the back of my ears again. I am currently awaiting assessment from a consultant.

I have had a lot of problems with my ears over the past 6 months. They are very dry, itchy and often bleed which causes ear infections. They do not smelly really bad but sometimes you cam smell a bit of something. I do get puss but that is mostly when I get an ear infection due to this. I have had 3 ear infections in the past 4 weeks which has caused me to have a lot of time off work and the pain when I do get an ear infection is unbearable. I have been to the doctors and he said I had eczema in my ears and gave me some cream called fucibet cream, this helps a lot and stops my ears from drying out and cracking which then stops the infection. It is a continuous thing that has to be done every night. I would not advise people to put eat buds down there ears as this makes the problem worse just a put some cream on it little finger and gently rub it on you ear and inside but as u say don't put the cream on an ear bud and start forcing it down. I also have otomize ear spray which helps when I can feel my ear getting really sore, my doctor has given me a few bottles of this. I hope this helps people. Best of luck to you all.

I had itchy ears which run with fluid for about 4 years, I could hear the fluid sloshing around and my outer ear was so sore and scaly. I had the shivers and a headache each time it got really bad. Utterly miserable! I've had antibiotics and various creams from the doctor and ENT specialist but they only worked for a short time. I then bought some diamotaceous earth from suppliers on Amazon, there are a few so make sure you get animal/human grade. It's a white powder that looks like talc. Put it in my ears and they've totally healed in 3 days! Look up this product on the internet, it has many applications for killing bacteria and parasites and is totally natural. It appears to be very similar to an ingredient in Thornit, which causes canker in dogs - look up canker in dogs, these were the symptoms I had. Finally a cure after 4 years!

I never had eczema or anyone in the family have eczema but after reading the above i think i suffer from it. It first started off from back of my head really itichy and really flaky it now spread to my ears back of my ears and earlobe it is really itchy and i cant help it and it statrs to bleed and inflamed i have to itch, when it is dry its really flacky and cracked skin it is mostly on my ear. My ear skin has gone darker from the other ear. I have tryed vasline and olive oil to keep it moist but it seems to not work. Can you please help me to stop this itching and what i can do or use for my head and my ear?
