Conditions with symptom: 'leakage'
Hi, I would be grateful for some advise as to what could be wrong with me, thank you. For quite a while I have been experiencing urine leaking from my vagina. I am unable to control this leakage. Also when I use a tampon it is filling up with urine. I am inserting the tampon correctly. This leakage also occurs on insertion of a tampon. I am really worried as to what could be wrong with me. I am 23yrs old and have a child who is now 2yrs old. I would appreciate any guidance. Many thanks x
I am a married women age 64. Five years ago I was constipated for a while. I have since changed my diet to become a vegetarian and my bowl movement became as frequent as 3 times a day. My number 2's became 'soft' but due to being constipated in the past I have noticed that the anal rim had 'stretched' and there is an inch of 'skin' (anal lining) hanging out of my bottom (not piles). I spend a lot of time wiping myself with toilet paper and baby wipes and apart from leakage, I am also experiencing a lot of itching around the area. Even tough I was embarrassed I went to see my GP twice, but he refused to refer me due to NHS lack of funds. My GP also suggested I stick toilet paper up to catch the leakage. The itching is driving me crazy, the leakage is compromising my hygiene and also being spontaneous with my husband in the bedroom department as I am conscience of being dirty and likely to smell. This is affecting my quality of life but what else can I do?
Exercise is potentially the key to strengthen the pelvic muscles, walking, yoga, cycling, swimming. Seems like you may need to be taking a good probiotic. An extremly good one is Biokult. Good luck.
For over 10 years I have suffered with leakage and smelly odours down below. I wear pads daily to try and mask it and if I don't wear them the smell and leakage goes through my underwear and trousers and I end up having to change every few hours as I stink. I can't cope with this anymore. I am now 25 and it affects me sexually and emotionally. I have tried treatments for thrush etc but nothing gets rid of it. And if it does it's literally for a couple of days and it comes back with vengence!! Is there anything that can help me?? I'm too embarrassed to go back to the docs AGAIN with the same problem time and time again. Thanks x x
This may be BV which is bacterial vaginosis. I have this and it's the result of a ph imbalance. It has all the symptoms you describes and is in varying severity. There is a course of antibiotics but I have not found them successful and some people find it makes it worse. I suggest google and see what they say about home remedies but don't do them until you have spoken to a doctor. They say the causes can be terminations, miscarriages or a lot of unprotected sex. I completely sympathise with you and it does make getting close to someone. Do go to the doctors though, you shouldn't be embarrassed it is not something you asked for and they have seen EVERYTHING! Good luck.
I'm a 32 year-old female. 3 1/2 months ago I had an anal fissure. This was followed by a hemorrhoid and now for the past month I've been experiencing what one may describe as anal leakage. I wash myself immediately after a bowel movement but approximately half an hour later I will experience a burning/itching sensation and after wiping there will be a small amount of yellowish/brownish matter on the tissue. My GP said I have a spastic colon whilst the specialist who I have been referred to so far said I've got no fissures. Up until 3 1/2 months ago I used to clean myself externally and internally using wet wipes. Since I have been unable to use them as I have been unable to insert my finger up there like I used to. The leakage accompanied by the burning/itching are beginning to impact on all aspects of my life and nowadays I'll end up crying every time this happens. Any suggestions as to what may be causing this and way of managing it would be highly appreciated.

Hi. There are a number of pelvic floor toners which can help deal with classic incontinence symptoms, such as those you describe. Many things can cause this problem, including childbirth, menopause and the aging process. Like many muscles, the pelvic floor needs exercise! Two very popular electronic toners are the Athena Pelvic Muscle Trainer and the Kegel8 range, or you can try a (cheaper) manual toner such as Kegelmaster or some simple pelvic floor weights, such as Kegel Balls. There are a full range on the site http://pelvic-floor-toners.info
