Hi ive had this condition all my life where for example if i scratch any area of my skin my skin goes red and flares up and you can see the finger lines.. the other day my friend hit me on the arm and i had a red hand shape. They always go away after about 30 mins- 1 hour but its just really embarrasing when people ask what it is when i dont even know myself. Any ideas what it is or how to get rid of it? :/

i had something that sounds very similar when i was young called dermographism. go see a dermatologist and see if your sensitive to anything, for me it meant that i had to completely change my diet as i was sensitive to food colourings, sugars and salicylates (a chemical that occurs naturally in plants). after following a strict diet i was able to see which foods i was more sensitive to and now i dont go near them

In about March 2010 after masturbating and then sleeping without washing the next day I had developed white patches on my penis head (glans). Well I regret it now but basically I panicked and scratched the skin badly and left my self with scar marks there, almost like deep lines on my penis head. Ever since the skin on my penis can be very dry. The skin now a days looks ok when my penis is flaccid and it can be ok when I get an erection. But after I get an erection and the penis goes flaccid again the skin looks withered, dry, wrinkly and scaly. The skin goes like this also after ejaculatio. After being to the doctors I have used Canesten but to no affect. I am now using Bio OIl to try and stop the skin going like this but im not sure if this will work, I am a virgin so I know the problem is not an STI. Does anyone have any advice?? Thanks.

hi, i suffered from acne pretty bad and tried EVERYTHING, over the counter stuff, prescription, things from the internet and the one thing that surprisingly has worked... is the 3 step facial wash from clinque and when you first use it, you do think its never going to work as its just a foam but it does and i use dior forever make-up as its the only one that has good coverage and doesnt clog your skin up (and has an spf in it too) just go to a clinque counter and im sure they will be more than happy to advise you and you can purchase a trail pack, give it ago, id love to hear how you get on- fingers crossed for you, i know all to well the suffering it causes! x

I think that as embarrassing as it is, you should have your mom take you to a gynecologist, you don't want it to worsen before treating it.. I'm sorry I can't tell you what it is or how to cure it, but a professional medical is best.. hope this helps...

I am a 15 year old girl and I have lines on the top of my breasts that are a shade lighter than the colour of my skin but show up very clearly. My cup size is 34FF, I don't think they are stretch marks because they aren't red or purple. I'm really embarssed about them because all my friends have "normal" looking breasts and I was wondering if there was anything I could do to get rid of them.

Im also 17 and only weigh 7 and a half stone. I had strech marks on my bum, boobs and thighs. I used the Body shop body butter every two days and massage in circles on effected areas. Now my strech marks are practically gone, you can only really see them in certain lighting. If she does this because she is young they will prob go quicker than someone older.

Hey, I'm 16 and i have this problem with my under arms. I have red spots and lines where i think my skin has became damaged when I've been shaving. But this hasn't cleared and is getting worse. I have tried body lotions and different antiperspirants and nothing seems to be working. I get self conscious, especially during the summer when its too warm to wear sleeved tops and hoodies. My armpits have also darkened and looks as if i haven't shaved when i generally have. Its getting really annoying and I've had this for a few years now. Are there any other options? Please help :)

I'm 18, and I've noticed over the past few months these lines on the inside of my thighs, when I am standing they are purple and very noticeable, but when I sit down, they are transparent and lumpy. I am very self conscious about these lines as I can't enjoy summer in shorts and skirts as I would like to because these lines are very visable when I walk and stand up. Please help

It's very common for the labia minora to have a different colour than the surrounding skin. Many women are like that, and it's nothing to worry yourself about. It's not the result of masturbation - it's more about genetics than anything. Masturbation is probably the safest form of sexual activity, since risks like pregnancy are removed from the equation. Any form of sexual activity - masturbation included - can cause small changes to the genitals over time. Just like how smiling gradually causes laugh lines, the repeated stretching of the skin during sexual activity can change the look of the vulva slightly over time. These slight changes are a normal part of life, and just like it wouldn't make sense to avoid laughing or smiling to prevent laugh lines, don't let this get in the way of enjoying your sexuality.

hi, i sweat more than i think is normal, within half an hour whether i am cold or hot i have wet armpits, also whether in a jumper or even a vest top, also the creases under my arms are red and i am really embarassed to raise my arms due too the big red lines. Has anybody got any suggestions as to how to reduce the sweating and also the red lines which i am most bothered about.

I am 21 and i have been suffering from acne for about 4 years now. I have tried lots of different products but none seem to help, i go for regular fascials but theres still no difference to my skin. I have been backwards and forwards to the Drs and they have put me on antibiotics that helped a bit but made me feel so ill. I have had 4 sessions of lazer treatment and that just seemed to make the texture of my skin worse. My skin doesnt look very nice from all the strong treatments i have had on my skin and now i have to think about premeture aging as i am now getting lines. I don;t know whats worse my acne or the texture of my skin. I get so depressed that sometimes i can't go out. I would love to know what has helped people get rid of their acne? Mine seems to always be around the chin area.

hi, i have had ache for 10 years i am 32 now. most of the big spots i get stay around for ever and i have squeezed which mes i have saring aswell. i have had every creme, tablets. facials and peels going. if i had alot of money i would like a high strengh peel . i had a lower one but after a few months the spots returned. the only thing that really keeps it under control is dermerlogica. i use the special cleanser and active moist .there products dont dry your skin out like chemist spot washes.i then put a heavy layer of bio oil at nite as its very greasy and by the morning my skin has a healthy glow even though my acne scars are still there.my goal is to keep it under control more than get perfect skin back. hope this helps .

i ALWAYS feel too embarrassed to wear bikini bottoms because it just doesnt look that good when i shave or epilate- i have sensitive skin, so it goes all red, and u can tell tht i have shaved etc. The skin colour is also diff to the skin colour of my legs :( i hate seeing other girls who can go out in their bikini bottoms - and their bikini lines look NORMAL!! arrrgh is there any way to make it look better, OTHER than Waxing!!!

I went to the doctors a few months ago for my itching skin, with no rash or symptoms. He suggested it may be scabies, however I did not have any white marks. White lines on the skin is a key symptom of scabies.

ok girls let think about this, we may have the silver lines of doom, but thats all they are, little marks which are probably next to that scar you got from falling off your bike when you were 12, or above those cute little dimples your boyfriend goes all gooey eyed over when you do the hoodini jump into bed at night! i know its hard to accept those little silver darlings but we should look at the whole picture, ive yet to meet a women who hasnt got a little sex godess in her! dont let a few lines keep her hidden away! lots of love and big hugs x x x x

Hello, I have darker skin tone around my bikini lines, under my arms, at the back of my neck and on my knees. It's not a serious condition, I am not itching or anything like that, but I am definitely not confident with my body, especially when I am intimate with my partner. Could you please advise me on a treatment or cream I could take to even my skin tone. I really need your help, I have lived with this condition for too long now and it’s affecting me. Thank you

im 19 years old and since i can remember i have had white 'river lines' on my thighs, bum and boobs. i always thought they were stretch marks, but now i dont know what they are. they are thin white lines, the ones on my boobs being about 1 inch in length, and they are about 2 mm apart and are horizontal. does anyone know what it could be and if theres anyway to clear it up? if i tan, they stand out more, and no cream seems to work, and i cant seem to cover up ith foundation. they are really starting to get me down, and i will forever wear jeans and long trousers if its not helped.

Hi, there is something weird going on with my nails. Some of the nails are lifting from the nail bed and recently they have gone an odd colour - white/pink on the bottom with a red band on the top half. If I press the nail I can see that the red band is made up of lots of little red lines, with a few black lines. This is happening on all my nails on both hands. Any help would be appreciated and I can send a pic if needed. Thanks.

Hi I am 28 and im on the pill yasmin since march 2009 and i was on a different one before that for my spots. Since the summer has started I noticed that the skin around my eyes and checks has got darker than the rest of my skin. Ive got white round patches around my eyes. It looks like ive left my sunglasses on while in the sun. Ive also got dark brown lines around my lip line. Is it because of my pill being changed? What can I do? Thanks

If your scarring is bad and deep, there are a couple of surgical options - cutting away the scars and re-stitching to finer lines and in severe cases skin grafts BUT you usually need to be SH-free for a few years before it's considered. Even skin grafts won't always 'remove' the scarring. Prepare for a fight with your GP if you decide to try that route. Depending on the scarring some of the white lines may disappear in time, but I've found by that point they're usually there to stay. Ask your GP about skin camouflage (like dermablend), it's very good if your scars are flat and it disguises them well. Regular makeup with decent pigment also covers small / medium scars quite well without too much work. Mesh disguises scars really well and you can adept fine fishnet tights into funky arm covers. Ultimately, if you are free from SH don't be ashamed of your scarring, there are times it's more appropriate to cover it up, but going sleeveless wasn't nearly as bad as I feared and I don't cover up my legs if I want to swim or go on a beach. If you do this, just make sure you use good sunscreen. I do burn quickly but I find my scars burn much more easily and it makes them very sensitive. There are other options, like tatooing if you wanted to consider that route, but it's nice to be at peace with yourself - scars and all.

Well I have a weird probem over here.Firstly I didnt bother to look or consult doctor about my changes in skin. There are alot of 'lines' on body. And its has been almost 6 years. But im not having any pain pr ithy because of this. Is it Urticaria or I'm having different problem. Can someone help me?
