A long-lasting, usually very painful erection of the penis that lasts for several hours or much longer. This occurs because the blood in the penis is trapped and unable to return to the circulation. It is not necessarily related to sexual stimulation… Read more →

Hi, I have a long term problem in that I can get an erection but can not control this, as soon as I try to enter my wife I ejaculate and instantly loose my erection. This has happened for several years (probably more than 7 years) and now we don't bother to try to have sex. This also happens if my wife touches my penis I ejaculate very quickly and lose my erection straight away. i am 51 years old and in good health, not over weight and regularly go to the gym, I dont drink or smoke, but this problem has ruined our sex life and I am lucky that my wife has been so understanding. Please can you offer some advise, I did pluck up the courage and went to my doctors once and he gave me a prescription to try viagra which I never went to collect through embarrassment, please help.

Hi I'm 28. Recently I performed some jelqing exercises for 6 days. During the exercises, for the first 2 days, I squeeze the base of my penis too tight that blood was not circulation properly. Afterwards, especially for last 2 days, I noticed that it was difficult to get an erection and to keep it during the exercises. When I sleep, my erection was around 50%. Is it normal? So I stopped doing it. I was wondering whether I should pay a visit to a Doctor? What could I do to regain a full erection? How long would it take? And whether it is a sign of ED since the erection does not last for long?

I think everything you're describing is normal, my boyfriend gets an erection when I start taking a sock off let alone a hug. And the goosbumps I think are glands of some sort, every guy has them but you see it more because you are closer to it

Your very young, its normal to get arrouseed easily. You penis is above average length, and to be honst, girls aint always bothered about length. This issue will get better with age. Get a girlfriend, she'll soon sort it out :)

Im a 46 year old male who has had ED for as long as can remember, very rare when I'm asleep I wake with a full erection but it's very few and far between. I can sometimes get an erection but within less than a min it's limp again, I have never told my doctor because I'm so embarrassed that I have gone this long and even if I could get it fixed I'm not sure I'm normal because I have never had a sex drive.

I am 63 and have had bad breath for more than 20 years. I have a nasal drip and chronic sinusitis . I do not have any dental or gum problems and have a healthy diet. I have tried lots of temporary fixes but would love a long term fix. Is there a long term fix or do I have to continue to rummage in my hand bag for a mint or chewing gum when I come in verbal contact with someone. I live in the Manchester area is there a specialist hygienist or dentist that could help me?

I've been having trouble maintaining an erection lately, its simply gotten worse and worse. I can't seem to maintain a strong erection except for just before i ejaculate, or if i force one but that only lasts a few seconds. If I do get aroused i can't maintain it for long, and feel very under-stimulated no matter what i try. I've also found out its easier to try to maintain an erection when stood up rather than lied down, but thats about it. I'm not sure if theres any help availible, but any advice would be really helpful :(

Do you get an erection on first waking in the morning? also do you get an erection if you look at some porno dvd's or sex on the internet? do you ger an erection when having a wank on your own? If the answer is yes, then your body is working normally, but maybe you are too anxious that you lost your eerection last time you has sex. Try imagining some very erotic thoughts or previous sexual experiences while making love to your partner I find that helps. Go to your health shop and get some ginsing tablets, or some called horny goat weed, I have taken both for a course of a month or so and find a big improvement. Good Luck.

Sudden changes like this need to be taken very seriously. It could be a blood flow problem. I'm not an expert, but I don't think it would be wise to wait on this. You should see a doctor immediately - go to the hospital if your GP is not available.

occasionally you can get scar tissue building up in the tube in the penis (the urethra) which makes the urine flow very random. Diabetes can also cause problems in how erections develop, but if the erection is changing shape, this could because of fibrous tissue developing within the shaft (Peyronie's disease) - its not something you need to panic about at all, but you could take a photo and explain to your GP. They can discuss treatment options

I am 13 nearly 14 and I have quite a long foreskin with doesn't retract when I get an erection and is quite stiff when I get an erection. I also have a small penis when non erect but quite large when erect, I am worried this might be a problem in later life! :(

Hi mate, this is called phimosis i believe and is treatable on the NHS if you need it. I would go see your GP to discuss options, this is really common especially at your age and nothing to worry over. Infact i've read that sometimes this just sorts itself out, depending on how severe it is. Like i said don't worry about it and if you can, go see your local GP especially if it causes you discomfort, they'll be able to sort this easily :)

There are some long term side effects to taking these tablets for this disease - personally, I don't think they are worth the risk. We know there is no effective cure at present and as this is one of the most painful diseases, I can't see adding to our woes is any benefit in the long term.

See your doctor, viagra may help to encourage the bodies normal response to give you a stronger erection.

if you take difene long term make sure that your doctor regularly tests you for kidney function. Difene not only will cause stomach problems but it also is dangerous for kidneys long term

Yes it can hurt a little bit. With regards to the condoms, they very slightly lessen the sensetivity for the man but so he would barely notice so if any man says he won't use a condom for that reason is basically lying to pressure you. If you really don't want to use them long term, there are loads of long term contraceptives available. But you can always both get tested (like me and my fiancè did before we stopped using them) to make sure that neither of you have anything. That way you can relax about std's as well as unwanted pregnancy.

I am 18 years old and am having difficulty maintaining an erection when meeting or being in a new relationship. I get a erected penis and then just lose it when about to perform. This first happend about 3 years ago on and off in different relationships, even tho i have managed to have sex before and i feel comfortable with my long term girlfriend. I dont know what it is because i have checked with my GP to see if it is medical and there was no problems :S

Hi, I'm a gay man with an okay sex drive. Nothing great but it's definitely there. I have never been any good at one night stands. But as a gay guy of 49 there's not alot of options right now with the ageist attitude that I'm picking up in bars/clubs and on apps. My problem is that I can't really get a decent erection. Why is this? Is it shyness? It's embarrassing and annoying. I'm happy with my size and I'm a very passionate lover - just that the machinisms not always up to speed! Yet in my former long term relationships I'm all go go go!!!

Age related, medically related, ??? who knows.?? Ask yourself is your mind binding up when you know its is only a casual relationship.. are your putting to much pressure on yourself to not disappoint.. As we age what we feel about things change and rather quality as oppose to quantity, in all things in life, as I am not talking just sexually here.. You are coming in to certain mental changing attitudes that come at this time of life, all the better so dont stress to much... Heath go and talk to a Gp about your concerns and ensure you are medically ok and then perhaps a talking session with a Councillor if need be.. and yes I would say you are a passionate person as you write with emotion.. Take care..m

Not a good idea this surgery. The underlying condition is left untreated and likely to come back. Also long term studies have shown these surgeries to have bad side effects in the long run. Thirdly the condition very likely would have changed on it's own. That's the nature of Peyronies Disease. It might have straightened on it's own with some loss of length. It should be treated conservatively with the combination of oral pentoxifylline 3x400 mg daily (to lessen the amount of plaque causing curvature) and daily routine of vacuum erection device. This will gradually straighten the curve.

Can I ask you Chris do yo have or have you had pyrones!! And are you medically trained !! Or have you come to this conclusion after doing your research on the net, I'm sorry if I sound a bit off but my experience so far after having had the operation and talking to the consultant is that most of what you are saying is wrong, as you can see from my recent posts I have recently had the operation so i will be updating to let sufferers from this dreadful condition know what the outcome can be after having gone through it, it's most important to be positive.

I'm also on the mycrophenolate and long term steroids and they have helped me with my illness ..along with bone tablets due to being on long term steroids my illness is in my brain and central nervous system , although had kidney removed also ..just wondering now if this rash on my feet is linked to the illness too

I am 27 years old, I suffer from mild CP. The pain is getting progressivley worse in my back, however, it is the metal problems that continue to cause issues. I feel worried about the future ahead and want to know what the long term affects of CP are. If you were to see me on the street, work with on a daily basis you may think, that woman had a limp, but that's all! I am lucky but I am worried about the long term affects?

If you are getting constipated it could result in poisoning your blood surely ? In the long term surely the body is under strain ...i.e kidneys and liver as a sufferer constipation causes back pain, anxiety, insomina , liver pain and a general ill feeling that rsults in me feeling depressed. Long terms effects are not only physical but can be intellectual, emotional and social. why isnt this condition being taken seriously by anyone ? why is it seen as not being damaging in the long term? i dont get it either

ive only just got eczema since havin my daughter which has been about 2 years nearly and i have only been given hydrocortisone to use on a daily basis, it's now no longer warking and it makes it a lot worse, im now using betnavate and its fantastic but as its a strong steroid i cant use it long term, i will only be giving fucibet if they feel its got infected as it contains antibiotics. I want to know if there is anything that i can use long term that doesnt come with the same health risks that all these other steriod creams do, my doctors are not really helping and ive asked to been refured to see a dermotoligist and they said its not necessary. Any other suggestion? x

Hi, I had the same problem. I hated them, they gave me, like, no self confidence. I even refused to date because of them. I got this thing called avent nipplette which with long term use pulls the nipple out. This is only a short term solution though. So once i had used it for long enough that they stayed out for a few hours, I went and got them pierced. Now they stay out all the time and are completely normal. I love them :) apparently you only need to leave the piercing in for a year or two and they will just stay like that forever. hop this helped :)

i have herpes ...there ive said it!!that feels good... i have a long term boyfriend and he understands as i contracted it from an ex who cheated on me, and is very supportive,... so although this might not help some people to hear but im just saying that its not all bad...i find it unbarable sometimes though he tries to tell me that he doesnt care if he gets it by accident but im paranoid even though we use condoms all the time that i might ruin his sexual health...im sure its a load of nonsense but i checked the net and there are american pages saying that there are long term treatments for herpes please tell me this is true ????!!!!!!
