I too had a lump on one of mine a few months back and stressed that it was going to be testicular cancer. I went to my doctor for it and was diagnosed with a condition called epididymitis. You could probably google that for more info but basically they said it was an infection of the tube that carries semen and that there isn't really any known causes for it other than a certain STD (I can't remember which one now). I tested negetive for it however and therefore, there was no known cause, they said it just happens sometimes. A simple antibiotic fixed the problem.

I'm 13 and i've found a lump in my lower left abdomen. It's soft and doesnt hurt to touch but sometimes it aches. Also i have a persistent cough and nausea. What could this be?

At thirteen a hernia is unlikely although certainly possible - they can be brought on by a chronic cough. It would depend on where in your abdomen it is. Get examined by your GP.

Hi Im 23. 2 months ago I had intermittent Diarrhea and pain all over my abdomen. The diarrhea stopped, but since then the pain in my abdomen when I eat is unbearable at times, and I move my bowels between 2 and 5 times per day. I am extremely exhausted all the time, and my abdomen gets very distended and painful. Before this, I had gastritis and acid reflux in my stomach, and take acid inhibitors every day. My GP tried anti biotics at first, which didnt make a difference. He referred me then for a colonoscopy, but the waiting list is 8 months and I can barely function or go to work because of the pain, exhaustion, and frequesnt trips to the toilet. It doesnt seem to matter what I eat, whether its vegetable soup or a burger, the pain an need to go to the toilet seems the same. someone please help me!

I'm 21 I got diagnosed with endometriosis 2 years ago. I have been seen by a gynaecologist and now on the mirena coil. However I still have a lot of symptoms I am worried about.. I have: very painful sex; irregular bleeding; a constant horrible discharge (not the normal female one); swelling to my abdomen; a very tender abdomen; constant pain. I constantly get checks for sti's even though I have been with my partner for 3 years, I keep getting refused when I ask for a smear even though I have more than one symptom for female cancers. I just want to be taken seriously and don't feel like I am because of my age and the fact I have a child

My boyfriend has been suffering from severe pain in his lower abdomen for quite a few months now. It is so bad that he can't move sometimes. He also has swelling in his penis and pain when ejaculating on occasion. He also complains about a pain in his right testicle. He is only 18 and every urine test and STI test has come back negative. Recently he also suffers the pain in his lower abdomen after drinking alcohol. I would just like to know if these sympotoms are common of prostitis. If anyone could give me any feedback I'd be grateful. Thanks

i have the same but there was a lot of swelling around the lump and it burst. i dont want to go to the doctor so if anyone can help?

It sounds like a swollen gland or an infected poor. Sometimes in that area you will get moisture and discharge that can plug a poor and over time get bigger and harder like a pimple or even more like a cyst. Try soaking in a tub of hot water and epsom salt and try to work the lump out (like popping a zit) If not then go to the obgyn and have it checked.

I am 18 years old and have had a small lump in the top of my armpit for a few months now. I'm really scared about what it could be, although other than the lump there are no other symptoms. the lump feels fairly soft, like a sort of fleshy lump and can be got hold of-it feels like its in the skin or just under it but im terrified. it can be quite tender. please tell me its nothing bad?

I'm 23 and I had a small lump come up on the under side of my shaft. It's small hard flesh coloured lump that seems like it is only attached to my skin, there is only a slight redness to the lump. The lump appeared after intercourse a few days ago. Any advice before I go to the doctors?

I found a lump in my breast which the doctor thought it was a cyst but I asked to be referred and it turned out to be a benign lump. Happy with the outcome, I then discovered another lump in my armpit and within a few days there was 2 more lump in my other armpit. I know it most probably nothing serious but I just want to know why I am getting these lumps and if they are anything to worry about?

I'm 20 and have discovered a large lump inside my vulva. Before discovering this, intercourse has been painful for me for about 6 months, particularly in missionary, and the pain spreads to my higher abdomen. The lump has no feelings- i.e it doesn't react in any way to touch. I don't know where it begins as I can only feel the end of it, which is flat and quite narrow. Any help with what this could do would be wonderful- I'm quite worried and am currently awaiting swab tests and an ultrasound from my GP.

After seeing this poor guy on the program having trouble with his enlarged abdomen it made me feel sick that the doctors just basically told him he was fat. That isn't fat on his belly. I have been anorexic for 13 years and are seriously underweight and I suffer from the same thing as him, a very swollen abdomen. How can doctors call me obese when my BMI is 14? It makes me sick that doctors dismissed it like that! When stomach acid is low it causes a swollen abdomen, imbalances in body pH and candida also cause it and yet the doctor never check for these things! I've had to struggle for years with my swollen belly, and nobody ever wants to help, I had to find the answers on my own.

I'm 42 and found a lump in my testical, I went to see the doc and he sent me away saying it was nothing! I went back to see another doctor 6 weeks later, he also said it was nothing! But asked me if I want to go for a ultra sound scan, good job I said yes because I did have cancer, had the operation within the week, been back to see my oncologist and my cancer had spread to the back of my abdomen, iv just had chemo and having 15days of radiotherapy in a couple of weeks, hopefully that will do the trick, if not iv been told we have the nasty chemo to fall back on. Every man/boy with a lump should be sent straight away for a scan and not told its nothing.

Sir im so sorry to hear this hoping all is well God bless you

and they wonder why a lot of men do not bother with doctors, i generally feel that doctors still view men as wimpy if they go to see them. Hi I am 54 years old and in the 1980's I had two ectopic pregnancies and I had keyhole surgery for both at the start and then had to have proper surgery as they both ruptured when they preformed the keyhole they used gas to blown my abdomen up for the camera both the gas did not go after each and where as my pregnancies were a few weeks along I looked like I was 9months pregnant after each and since all this my abdomen has always been large I have tried dieting and exercise but have never been able to lose it I now have a umbilical hernia and I am afraid of doing to much exercise I have alow esteem of my self and although I am slim everywhere else I tend to buy big clothes to hide my abdomen as it protrudes I have a low esteem of myself and feel embarrassed as people always comment and say when is it due I am my wits end as to what do my GP said it was IBS but it is not I watch your programme all the while to see if there is any advice but to no avail I was hoping one of you could help me I am desperate

I have had a very painful abdomen for weeks and my abdomen is very bloated. It seems to be worse just after I eat,I do not exactly run to the loo but sometimes my stools are very soft and light in colour and sometimes I feel that I have not emptied my bowels after a visit to the loo and still feel bloated. The pain varies from a dull ache in my rigt side and around to my back, lots of gurgling noises, anyone have the same symptoms?

I'm only 14 years old yet this morning, I had an ultrasound scan on my abdomen after having on/off lower back and abdomen pain over the past 10-12 months. She didn't say how large it was but she didnt seem too concerned, saying she'd refer me back to my gp and possibly a gynecologist. I'm just really worried and don't know what to expect regarding gyn visit, surgery, or just leaving it etc. Can anyone give me and advice on what to expect?

hey John i know what you are going through ,had the exact same type of pain. I first noticed mine years ago ,no pain just the small lump , it was like this for a long time , then it did start growing in size and it didn't take long until it was almost the size of the testicle itself ,and the pain was like you describe ,(getting your testicle squeezed ),and the pain would travel up into the abdomen .long story short , i had the surgery done this Monday past , so on day 3 post op ,everything seems to be good , the pain ( with meds ) is about the same as pre-op so bearable. The relief however is from knowing the lump is gone . Do yourself a favor and if you are worried about this , as im sure you are ,talk to your doc about having it removed . The surgery like i said is very simple and from pre-op to waking up afterwards about an hours time.I am happy i have had it done ,after years of wonder and worry. .... Best of luck to you.

Hi. Now and then I have a pain in my lower abdomen, similar to period pain. When I go the loo, any straining then causes me to pass a 'plug' giving instant relief. The plug itself can only be described as the same that I passed when my waters broke three years ago. It is clear, non smelly, but a consistency of thick hairgel! I'm not worried about STI's as such but more concerned about the pain I get in the abdomen and the fact it's only happened in the last three years after having my baby. All I want to know is if it's normal!! Thanks!

I do a lot of running and lots of playing football etc, when i start exercising i feel a dull pain in my left testicle and the pain spreads to my lower abdomen and somtimes my inner left thigh/hip. Throughout the exercise period the pain eases and then returns for days after I stop. I also get a pain in my lower abdomen when coughing or sneezing, though not always.

that sounds like an inguinal hernia part of your intestine comes through your abdominal wall and will eventually protrude where your groin meets your legs, in some cases it can drop down into the sack also!

Hi there Jon, I've experienced very similar discribed pains that you've mention you experienced. But, I am a 39yr.old female so it may possibly have started sometime before you started noticing the Testicular Problem, but i like to keep an open mind about most subject's. My initial hunches tell me it maybe the Sexual Transmitted Disease - Clamyidia. The Symtoms of the Aches and Pains you are feeling is the Diease spreading and becoming more dangerous for you to Carry on Having in your Bodies'Symtoms.

hopefully this will help anyone with this issue . I have experienced this same lump on one of my testicles , it has been there for a long time with no issues .Within the last year or so i noticed a dull pain going from the testicle up into the abdomen , tolerable pain yes but pain non the less. i chose to have the surgery to remove this cyst ,as it was always in the back of my mind that it may be something more serious . So i am writing this to anyone it may help , i am in day number 2 post op ,as of now with meds the pain is about equal to what i was experiencing before surgery so not so bad . The relief comes from knowing that the lump is now gone ,and i can finally after many years stop worrying about it. So anyone in this same situation with any questions or concerns about the surgery itself ,it is actually very simple and fairly quick , from the time i went into the pre op room to the time i woke up afterwards was about an hour , and you really will not feel or remember any of it. So for anyone in this position i say to you it is a great relief having this done and not left wondering everyday about what this lump might be or what it may be doing to my health. Again only 2 days post op but feel great ,slight pain when moving around ,but that is expected and bearable , so do yourself a favor and if you haven't been checked out the do so ,don't be embarrassed to talk to your doctor about this ,you didn't cause it ,it just happened and there is help. I hope this helps guys ,and good luck .

Hello. Just over a year ago I was diagnose with an ovarian cyst which caused much pain and swelling of my abdomen. I had the cyst removed aswel as a fallopien tube, due to swelling. Since my surgery my consultant told me that the swelling to my abdomen would lessen, but this dosent have seemed to happen. I have tryed to exercise to lessen the swelling. Have you got any tips or ideas which may help, as the swelling reduces my confidence?

Hello. I am 15 years old and my periods are 15 days late. They are normally exactly on time but the last 2 months they have been late, more this month than last. I have also been suffering from severe sharp pains in the sides of my lower abdomen since January and I think can feel a lump on the right side. The pains occur every day, often when I pee but they are sorest at the time when my periods are acutally due but they don't come. Please help me.
